After getting showered in my new bathroom at Jackson's, I had to borrow a set of his clothes as mine were still at my mother's house and the set I was wearing were covered in mud. I was wearing a pair of his jogging bottoms with my own vest top and his hoodie over the top, I was very comfortable is all I can say.
I was making my way down the stairs as he appears out of nowhere from the living room, I won't lie and say that I didn't jump like ten feet from surprise.
'I've been waiting for you to get down, I think I've just found another huge development." He says taking my hand and pulling me into the living room, before I could even utter a single word. 'Because of everything that we found regarding Derek, I just knew that I had to look into him more just in case something was screaming at us to find it and I think I did." He explains handing me a piece of paper, I glance down and realise it's what looks to be the deed to a piece of land that Derek owns.
'I'm going to take a guess and say you found something interesting about this piece of land." I say with a little smile, but Jackson was already running over to take his coat from the chair. 'We're going out there now, Jackson I'm wearing your clothes because I don't have mine yet and my mother is sending someone over to drop things off, how suspicious is it going to look if we're not here?" I ask liking that he was really focused on our investigation, but we need to make sure we're careful that my mother doesn't catch onto what we're doing.
'You can borrow one of my coats to keep you warm while we're gone and let's be honest, Reece said once your mother was finished for the day, you and I both know that will be hours from now." He says throwing me a coat before running off into a different room, I've never seen him like this before. 'Ally, if what I found is what I think I have found, we have to move quickly. Isn't this what you wanted, to find more evidence on Mario so we could find your father, this is what it is." He says when I still didn't go to move, I look him in the eyes and I could just see that whatever he thinks is there, he wants us to move right now.
'I guess the underdogs work under the cover of nightfall too, we're really expanding, aren't we?" I ask with a little laugh, I wanted to keep the same jokey mood that we always have to keep my worries over what we're walking into at bay.
Jackson smiles as I slip on his very warm jacket, after all of this is over, I'm going to have to invest in some of these. I always get stuck opening up the restaurant very early in the morning, that means I have to walk into the freezing cold building where the heating takes ages to kick in! Jackson walks into the kitchen before emerging with his gun, where he nonchalantly slips it on his trouser pocket. I do keep forgetting that most of the times we're together, that gun is also by his side. I was soon following him out of the house and into the cold night.
After around an hour, Jackson stops the car right outside of a farmer's gate. On the journey here, it began to tip down with rain which only made this terrifying experience that much more terrifying! I look out of the window to see if I could get a feel on where we're going, but due to the time of the night and the rain, I really couldn't see past the headlights.
'I think it will be safer if you waited in the car, I'll lock the door while I'm gone." Jackson says taking his seatbelt off before trying to leave the car, but I grab ahold of his hand stopping him.
'As if I'm going to allow you to walk out into the unknown darkest alone, I know I'm not a fully trained agent like you as I keep getting reminded, but in this situation, you know I have your back." I say which I knew took him by surprise, before all of this happened, I would have happily waited in the car, but now I know what I know that's changed. 'And do you really believe leaving me alone in the car is the right decision?" I say with a little laugh, he shakes his head looking back out into where we're going to be walking in a few short seconds.
'Okay but stay beside me." He tells me with a pointed look, I nod my head also taking off my seatbelt before climbing out of the car, where I'm immediately pelted with freezing cold droplets of rain.
I run over to Jackson's side of the car where he pulls his gun out, his other hand reaching out to take mine so he knew where I would be through this. I send him a nod as he leads us over to the farm gate where he pushes it open with his foot, the gate making a screech noise which would alert anyone that we're here.
'Go into my jacket pocket and pull out the torch, there is no way we're seeing anything without it." Jackson tells me looking around our surroundings while talking, I do as I'm told and reach into his pocket to find the very torch he was talking about.
I quickly turn the torch on which gave us a little more light than we had before, but it also illuminates all of the little raindrops that were now making my face and hands quite cold.
'What exactly are we looking for?" I ask as we continue to walk deeper into the very muddy field, Jackson hasn't told me anything, but I've still followed him!
'Derek brought this piece of land the day Allison went missing; I know it could be some huge coincidence, but I just have a feeling that it had something to with Mario and wherever Allison is." Jackson says looking around the area again, it was hard to see if there was anything in front of us due to how dark it was, but from what I'm seeing it just looks like an empty plot of land.
'Were you and Allison close before she left, the way you reacted when I remembered I saw her car kind of gave it away a little?" I ask mostly trying to fill the silence, I knew if we didn't speak and just allowed the sounds of the terrifying night engulf us, I wouldn't be much help if something did happen.
'Well, I mean yeah kinda, she's actually my older sister." Jackson says at first making it seem like they were just colleagues, but then drop the bombshell that they're actually family! 'She was the reason I got into this job in the first place, there would be no way your mother would have hired me if it wasn't for her, that's why I need to find her so she can see firsthand that it wasn't a waste." He says with a little sigh as he went, I look over sending his hand a little squeeze as I went.
'I'm sorry you had to go through that, I had no idea that you two were actually related in some way. Then I guess this whole investigation is close to home for both of us." I say shinning the torch further where a see a fence which told us we've nearly reached the end of border of his land. 'And just to be clear, you're a great agent and my mother is lucky to have someone like you on her team and I just know, your sister is so proud of you wherever it is that she is." I say sending him a smile knowing how it feels to have someone you love missing; he looks over at me with a smile before I turn the torch which gets my full attention.
Stood right beside us was a medium sized shed, it didn't look very well put together but the thing that stood out of me most, was the light that was on. My heart rate picked up at the thought of Mario being here, I mean it's just me and Jackson and I know I talk a big game, but I really don't have much to back that up with!
'Okay, just stay behind me." Jackson says positioning me to stand behind him, but I make sure to keep a hold of his shoulder, I didn't want to feel fully alone right now!
Jackson pulls his gun so that it was in front of him as we slowly inch towards the door, yes, I wanted to know what may be in here but not when it's pitch black, and I have no idea what's going to happen. Jackson takes a deep breath in before kicking the door open with his foot, well I guess being sneaky is out of the gosh darn window!
In seconds he was in the shed with me close behind him, we take a look over to see a woman standing there chained to the wall looking terrified at us.
'Allison?" Jackson asks which does make my eyes grow rather wide, I didn't know it was going to take this turn!
