Everything You Need
Jackson and I soon arrive back home, the incident with Peter still fresh on my mind as we walked through the door. I know my mum said a close friend of mine was looking into my disappearance, could that close friend be Peter? Now I'm thinking, I don't think any of my other friends would go through the trouble.
Was Peter just randomly at the restaurant and happened to bump into me, or was he there in hopes of finding more information about me? There are so much unanswered questions, which I probably won't get the answers to until all of this is over.
'After that food, I think I need to lay down for a year." Jackson says closing the door behind us, after all of that with Peter, I'm shocked he can just go back to normal life.
I smile towards him as he throws his keys on the counter beside the front door, switching the lights on. But once they were on, we both jump from shock and surprise to see my mother and Reece sat on the sofa looking at us.
'Why the fuck are you in my house sitting in the dark?!" Jackson asks holding his hand to his chest from the shock, I had instinctively, gone behind him slightly before I even knew who was sat on the sofa.
'We came around hours ago to discuss some things with Ally, but we discovered you weren't home, so we found your spare key and entered the house to wait for you." Reece began to explain which sounded ludicrous, why would you break into somebody's house when really, they could have called Jackson and we'd be back in no time?
'So, you thought sitting and waiting in my house in the pitch-black darkness was going to solve that issue?" Jackson asks still annoyed whilst closing the door behind us, his hand on my side slyly like he knew I was about to start feeling uncomfortable knowing they'll probably ask me things about Derek. 'And don't you remember the conversation we had this morning; Ally is having a day off from speaking about Derek and Mario." Jackson says as we both start to make our way into the living room, while my mother and Reece remained on the sofas.
'We're not here to talk about Mario, but I've found a video from your dad Ally, I don't have any idea what it means, but he said you will." My mother says now rising to her feet as she spoke, my eyes go wide on hearing my dad had left a video somehow.
'That doesn't make any sense, Mario wouldn't have allowed him to send you a video." Jackson asks sounding suspicious, which did start to make thoughts of this being fake soon fill my mind, Mario isn't just going to let my dad start film videos and send them to me.
'This video was sent the morning after he was taken; we're guessing he made the video when they turned their backs and sent it before his phone was taken." My mum says trying to make us believe this video was legit, but there were so many obstacles which was telling me it may be old or a trap of some sort from Mario.
'Before you continue to try and debunk the video, why don't you take a watch first?" Reece says standing up in an annoyed stance at us, is he seriously talking to me like that when we're just trying to make sure we don't walk ourselves into some trap.
'If it's going to get you off my back so I can get some rest, fine show it me." I say matching the same attitude he had given me, I'm not just going to stand around and allow people to talk down to me, maybe when he was leading the search for my father I had to walk on eggshells, but now Jackson and I are taking the lead and getting more of the work done, I'm not taking it.
My mother smiles reaching into her bag and pulling a laptop out, Jackson gestures for me to take a seat on the other sofa as she places the laptop on the coffee table. I sigh walking over to take my seat, where Jackson was sat right beside me.
'Since you were a baby, your father didn't want me to feel as though I was missing out on seeing you growing up." My mother begins to explain whilst typing away on her laptop, I mean whether or not she did miss out on so much of my life because of her work. 'He created this drive where he could put photos and videos of you and whenever I wanted, I could logon and see you growing up." She smiles remembering what my father did for her, wait so that's how she got all of the photos that I've been seeing!
'I was sat in my office a few hours ago and was looking through the photos, when this new one sparked my interest." She tells me turning the laptop around so Jackson and I could see, my father sat near what looked like a brick wall looking back at us.
As I looked, I spotted he was in the same clothes he was the night he went missing. But he had a few cuts and bruises on his face, telling me he didn't go down without a fight. I gulp a little at what I may have to see, but I knew I had to be strong to be able to be of any help. My mother reaches over and plays the video.
'Joanna, I have no idea when you're going to see this, it may be too late or just in the nick of time, but you need to show this to Ally, she'll know what I'm talking about." My dad starts to say but does frantically, look around whatever place he is in, the fear from whatever he's seeing clear on his face. 'Ally hunny, I need you to listen carefully okay, remember what I used to tell you when you were younger, if there was ever a time that I wasn't there and no one knew why, go to the place I spoke about. Everything you'll need to know will be there. I'm so proud of you sweetheart, please be careful." He tells me looking right in the camera, but when a loud crash from somewhere around him goes off, he picks up the camera and it cuts off.
The room was silent as I stare at the screen of the laptop, not only was I attempting to rack my brain to try and remember what he had told me, but also, the same expression of fear that was present on his face scared me. What kind of horrors could he be witnessing? My father is always calm and collected so this emotion is new.
'Have you got any idea what place your dads talking about?" My mum asks finally breaking the silence, but I look away from the laptop and still try to rack my brain at all the many different things my father and I spoke about growing up.
I get up from my seat and begin to walk up and down the room, but then the answer soon hits me. When I was still in school, my dad came home one day and looked very nervous and shaken up. I tried to ask him what the problem was, but he smiled and told me it was nothing I had to worry about, but he told me to pack some homework for me to do as we needed to head out for a few hours. I did what he said, and we left in the car, we drove for hours until we reached a huge bank looking building. I was told to wait in the car before he left and went into the building, he was gone for so long that I had managed to finish my schoolwork.
After 3 hours, I got worried and decided I needed to go and check if he was okay. So, I left the car and headed in myself, that's when I saw my dad speaking with a man in a very posh suit, the man looks at me and smiles asking if I was my dad's. My dad turns and also smiles at me telling the man I was his daughter called Ally, the man was nice and told me he was here if my dad or I needed anything and not to worry. I didn't know what he meant, and I still don't, but I have to guess that's the place my dad meant.
'I don't know what the place is called but I know where it is, the man there told me if dad or I needed anything, we go there." I say turning to look at them all, my mother's face holding confusion at my statement.
'Well, that means there's nothing we can do until tomorrow, this place Ally remembers won't be open until the morning. Let's all get some rest and meet here tomorrow to leave." Jackson said now getting out of his chair and walking over to me, but my mum shakes her head also standing up.
'Tell me what it's called and me and Reece will head there now." She says where it was my turn to look at her confused, is she not even listening to me?
'Didn't you hear when I said I don't know what it's called, we will head there tomorrow, and I'll talk to this man." I say also understanding this place is going to be closed at this time, but when she shakes her head annoyed at me it was my turn to get annoyed. 'I'm your only ticket to going to this place and I'm saying we're waiting until the morning, now I don't know what dads hiding in there that made him so afraid, but I can bet it had something to do with your line of work, so you're the last person who should be standing there trying to act like the hero!" I shout finally having enough of her, yes, she may be worried but talking down to me when I clearly told her I don't know what this place is called annoyed me.
'That's enough, I told you Ally wasn't going through any stress today, we will heed to the building tomorrow until then, I'm kindly asking you to leave my house." Jackson says jumping in before an argument can erupt, Reece picks up my mother's laptop and soon leave the house, my mother in tow.
'Maybe you're right, there's never a dull moment with me." I say with a little smile, Jackson looks away from the door and at me with a sleepy smile agreeing.
