Welcome Home

In no time at all, I was standing on Jackson's shoulders attempting to pick the lock on my mother's office window. This wasn't even the hardest part of Jackson's amazing idea, we had to sneak into a base which is heavily guarded! We had to army crawl through a bush! 'Would you explain to me again why we have to go through all of this trouble to send my mother an anonymous tip, I still don't understand why we can't just send her an email?" I say while still trying to wiggle the lock, this window is much harder to unlock than any door I have come across! 'Like I keep saying, I work here so I know how things go. If we send your mother an email, it will most likely go to her spam folder where she will either never see it or brush it off as ridiculous. But now we're placing the tip with evidence on her desk, she'll know that we're serious without having to know who we are." He explains as I'm finally able to get some movement with the lock, at least I know it's not a lost cause. 'But how are we going to know if she takes it seriously, she doesn't tell us anything and thinks we don't know a thing when we're the ones who found all of this out!" I say as I'm able to open up the window finally, he smiles handing me up the envelope which tells me I'm the one that has to climb through this window. 'We'll know trust me, now hurry and get that envelope on her desk and please be careful." He says which does cause me to roll my eyes, he's seriously telling me to be careful when we're doing something like this! I take a hold of the edges of the window and start to pull myself up slightly, my only issue is I don't have very good upper body strength. After a few seconds, I managed to pull myself in whilst placing my feet on the window seal. I take a look down at Jackson who just sends me a smile, easy for him he's just standing there watching me. I look back into my mother's office before moving a few things out of the way, I didn't need anyone hearing glass smash and finding me here. Once my feet were on the floor of her office, I run over to her desk and the place the envelope on the middle. Yes, mission over! I was about to turn around to climb back through the window, but a photo sat on her desk stops me in my tracks. I walk over to the photo picking up in my hands, it was a photo of me and my dad on my last day of school. We had to dress smart, so I chose a little white dress, and my dad wore his smartest suit, my mother like always didn't show up. I was told she would try to make it there but, on the day, work got in the way which made that impossible. How does she have this photo? Before I could look more into this, I hear her voice and the sound of her shoes getting closer to the door. I quickly place the photo back on her desk before running over to the window, I climb back onto the window seal making sure to put the things I moved back where they were before. I look out of the window to see Jackson still waiting on the other side for me, I look back at the door as the handle goes down. Jackson holds out his arms basically telling me to jump in them, without thinking I do just that and land on him. But he wasn't steady on his feet, and we end up on the floor, me smack tab onto of him. I was going to speak but he places his hand on my mouth, just as the door to my mother's office opens and we hear her talking on her phone. 'Make sure they check the footage again to see if they find anything, we have nothing to go on Reece but so much to lose all at the same time. It's not only to stop Mario but to find my husband, you saw the way Ally reacted when she saw Carl, just imagine if she found out we've hit a brick wall." She says which does make me screw my face up annoyed, well mother I hate to break it to you, but I know! 'Reece, did you leave an envelope on my desk….well there's one sat right in the middle?" She says which meant our plan was working, maybe I should give Jackson more credit for his plans because they do seem to work. The sounds of the envelope opening soon fills the office before it goes quiet, this telling us that she was now reading and seeing all of the evidence that we found on Derek. I soon look down and realise that I was still very much on top of Jackson, he sends me a wink before I slowly start to get up and move. He soon sits up before taking my hand but makes sure that we were both remain low to the floor, we can't risk my mother looking out of the window and seeing us both here. 'Reece, get to my office now." My mother says in a panicked sort of voice, you could just tell by her voice that she knew how bad this was. 'Our work here is done, let's leave before we're caught." Jackson says now pulling me away from the window and back where we came from, where I remember I'm going to have to army crawl again! Around twenty minutes later we were back in the car and driving towards Jackson's house, we were both covered in mud and were in desperate need of a shower and some fresh clothes. I still had no idea how we managed to pull that off, I mean my mother was right there and had no idea! 'You're feeling the rush, aren't you?" Jackson asks with a smile; I look over rolling my eyes, but he was definitely right. 'I felt the same way when I did something like that for the first time." He smiles remembering his life before I came into it, we've only known each other for maybe a month now. 'Don't tell me you've broke into your boss's office before?" I ask being so sarcastic with how I spoke, Jackson laughs just as his phone starts to ring. 'What I do in my private time is private." He says with a smirk before answering the phone, as he was driving, he had to put it on speaker. 'Go for Jackson." He tells whoever was on the other end of the phone, I just smile at the weird thing he says whenever he answers the phone. 'It's Reece, this has to be quick, but Ally needs to stay at your house for the time being, we know it's a big ask but we don't really have any other choice at this point." Reece says also sounding rather panicked at the same time, I mean it was a shock when we found out that Derek was working with Mario, but they actually work alongside him! 'That's okay, Ally can stay with me however long that she needs to, can I know why?" Jackson asks while I actually liked the idea that I could stay at Jackson's, I know how awkward it'll be when I see my mum again due to what I said to her old boss but also, Jackson and I can work on the case without the risk of the big boss walking in. 'You have to tell me Reece, I'm the one that's protecting Ally and allowing her to stay in my home with me not only that, but I'm also the one that's going to have to explain to Ally and she's going to have many questions." Jackson says not allowing Reece to keep him out of the loop, for the sake of our investigation we need to know if Derek is off the scene or not. 'I can't tell you everything, but we have found out that one of the agents that we work close with is actually working for Mario, that person has saw Ally on multiple occasions and knows what her disguise looks like and where she is staying, he never got the chance to learn that she spent the night at yours which is perfect for keeping her safe. She just needs to stay there while we think of what else to do." Reece explains finally giving us a hint as we pull up at Jackson's house, but the house that I know I have to stay in. 'I really have to go but be careful Jackson, we have no idea what Mario is going to do now we have one of his closest friends, just keep Ally out of eyeshot. Her mother is going to drop some of her things off when she is finished here for the day." Reece says before he ends the call, Jackson didn't even have time to say anything. 'Welcome home roomie." Jackson smirks looking over at me.
