Final Chapter
~9 months later~
'Noel, table 5 said their dinner was delicious." I smile looking through to the kitchen with a smile, Noel looks up from the cooker with a smile on his face.
'I'll only produce the best boss." He shouts before getting back to work, I smile at his comment before turning around to look at my busy restaurant.
I better fill you in before you get too confused, yes, I own my own restaurant now. After everything with Mario and the base, I knew it was time I had to head back to my old life and start working in the same boring restaurant I had for years. Let's just say, I wasn't too thrilled about it all.
My mother saw my reaction and asked why don't I train up and become an agent, I had proven myself over the months working with Jackson and was the key role in catching Mario. The offer of course, sounded tempting but I knew it wasn't what I was meant to do. Yes, I had the best experience getting to watch what happens and learn on the job what it offers, but I don't think I'll be able to handle the stress of it on a daily basis. Just the constant fear that whoever you're catching, could come and try to get you, that's something I don't need to feel anymore!
My mother said if I wasn't going to accept the offer to work with her, she was going to make sure whatever I did I enjoyed! She asked what things I am good at where I could only say the restaurant, it was the only place I have worked since leaving school. She took that literally and brought me an entire restaurant that I now own! I was shocked and at first didn't want to accept it, but she told me I had helped them out by stopping Mario, I needed something as a kind of reward, but not only that, it would be the first real present from my mother, to make up for all of the times she wasn't there. A couple months of hard work later, my brand-new Restaurant Peters Diner opened and is doing extremely well.
That was the only name fitting for this place, he was the man which saved my life, so I needed to make sure I honoured him as the hero he was! After speaking with the police investigator who was helping Peter, William his name is, it appears Peter had worked out where I was and why I was there. The minute they spoke to someone at the base, and they told him where we were, they both raced down. It was so comforting to hear Peter didn't give up on finding me, he wanted nothing more for me to come home and life to be normal again. He even jumped in front of a bullet without any hesitation, which is what I think about most. Mario had no right taking him from the world, he had so much good to spread but he was stolen. But I know wherever Peter is now, he's proud of me and what I have done since his passing.
Speaking of Mario, he was tried for all of his many crimes, violet, nonviolent, the murders which were longer than I thought. The judge sentenced him to 500 years in prison, let's just say he's never going to see the light of day again which he definitely deserves! But a weird part of me is thankful he took my father, before you all shout how delusional I sound, let me explain. If what happened didn't happen, I would have never found out what my mother does, which would have meant I would have never met Jackson. Mario would probably still be running around doing the evil things he did, but now he's where he belongs.
Things are also so great with Jackson and I; we've gone from strength to strength, and I now can't imagine my life without him. He was the key person which helped me get through the loss of Peter, which was one of the hardest things I had to deal with. He even came by late after work and would help me work on the restaurant! I even moved out of my parents' house and in with him! Don't worry, my dad isn't alone as my mother now goes home every night and doesn't spend nearly the number of hours at work as she used to.
I'm cut from my little daze when the bell above the door rings, this telling me more customers were coming. When I look up, I see Jackson, Reece and my parents walking in smiling over at me.
'What are you guys all doing here?" I ask with a smile as they all stop at the counter, they were definitely, here more than some of my most regular regulars.
'We'd all finished work and thought it would be nice to stop by and have a bite to eat at the best restaurant in town." My dad smiles with his arm wrapped around my mother, who sends me one her smiles.
'That's if you have room for us." She smiles looking around at how busy this place was, but it could never be too busy for these guys.
'You know there's always room for family, so what can I get you?" I ask placing my hands on the counter with a smile, where I see a smirk flash Jackson's expression.
'I know what you can get me." He smirks before pulling me closer to him and smashes his lips to mine, where immediately, my dad starts to shout really in front of him! 'I'm sorry Jason, but I'm doing it again!" Jackson laughs before he does just that where we all start to crack up as my dad pretends to drag Jackson away.
My mum walks over and takes my hand in hers smiling, just from the look I knew she was telling me how proud she was. Neither of us good with words, but her look said a thousand of them.
But I have to say, it has been hard, but things are finally how they're supposed to be. But what else did I expect when I learnt how I was, The Spies Daughter?
