Fled
We continue to speed past traffic towards wherever this farm was, the whole world was a blur as we race down backroads and down alleys. I still had Jackson's phone in my hand trying to call my mum, but each time it would go to voicemail caused the worried feelings to get closer and closer to the surface.
I couldn't stop the worried thoughts from swirling around my head, what if something bad had happened to her and Reece? The last time we had a proper conversation was an argument and the final time we spoke; I was so cold towards her. Yes, I'm still angry that she was never upfront with my dad and I about what she did. If we would have known she did this for work, we would have been more prepared if someone like Mario was going to appear in our lives.
But as much as I'm angry with her, I still care about her so much. She is my mother after all, somebody I have always wanted a relationship with no matter what had happened through the years. I don't want her going such as that thinking that I hate her, when in reality, it's the opposite.
We soon arrive on a dirt road type situation, the car bounced back and forth as we were still travelling at a very high speed. The sign for Creekwood Farm soon comes up, Jackson's hitting the breaks just in front of it.
'I can't see them or their car." I say looking around the surrounding area, this place was so open that you would be able to see any type of vehicle immediately.
'The GPS put their last location here, perhaps the final place of the car is somewhere up the road. Stay with me." Jackson says before turning to look at me with a serious face, I nod my head understanding how dangerous this whole situation could be.
He replies with a nod of his own head before we both get out of the car, I run around the car and take his arm, so I was glued to his side. He holds my arm with one hand before reaching into his belt to hold his gun with his other, both of us looking around drastically, in case we see my mother, Reece, Derek or Mario for that matter.
The wind blew gently through my hair as we walked down the path, my hand holding so tightly onto Jackson's arm as we went. Walking down this path, I didn't know if it was just my mind getting freaked out, but I felt someone watching us as we went.
'Joanna! Reece!" Jackson starts to shout loudly, I'm sure if they were anywhere close, they'd hear him. I begin to scan our surroundings further wondering if I would be able to see if there was anyone watching us.
'Mum!" I shout loudly in case they were worried Jackson was one of Mario's men, but I just had this feeling my mum would know who I was when she heard my thoughts. 'What if somethings happened?" I ask looking up at Jackson, he looks down at me for a second with a little sigh.
He didn't have to answer my question for me to know he doesn't know what to say, I look back down at the floor for a second while we continue down the lane. But through the overwhelming silence, I begin to hear what sounds like shouting. This causes me to snap my head up and scan the area again, as like before I didn't see anyone.
'Ally!" A voice shouts much clearer than before, even Jackson starts to look around in hopes of finding the owner of the voice. 'Ally, Jackson!" The voice says again which I soon recognise as my mothers, Jackson and I both look at each other for a split second before following where her voice came from.
The voice seemed like it was coming from the kind verge, which was on side of the road, Jackson moves so he was now holding my hand as we both race to the edge of the road. This is when we both see the car at the bottom on its side, two people sat on the grass right near the car looking up at us.
'Are you both okay?" Jackson asks helping me to walk down the verge without falling, while my mum and Reece both get to their feet. 'Alison called us and said no one had heard from you since you left to take Derek, where is he?" Jackson asks as we finally reach the bottom, my eyes looking right at my mother as the thoughts I just had still swirled around my head.
'He's fled, we were driving along the road and out of nowhere, he pulls out a piece of wood and smacks me around the head with it. Obviously, due to me driving it caused the car to swerve and end up in the ditch." Reece explains which did explain the blood, which was dripping down his face, what crazy person would decide to hit someone around the head with a plank of wood, hang on, where did he even get the wood from?! 'Before we could stop him, he had kicked the door in and made a run for it, he couldn't have gotten far with his hands and feet in chains." Reece says beginning to scan the surrounding area, shouldn't he be more concerned about the bleeding gash on the side of his face?!
'I'll send a message to Alison explaining everything, she can send people over to search you two for injuries and get the search for Derek going." Jackson says pulling out his phone, he does place his hand on my shoulder to make sure I'm okay before climbing up the verge.
'I'll start doing a quick little check around, if that bustard is close, I'll find him." Reece tells my mother before walking off in a different direction, I really think he should get his head checked before wondering off by himself!
'There's no point trying to tell him, once he's got an idea in his head, he runs with it. Reminds me of someone else." My mother says speaking for the first time, I look away from Reece and over to her as she watched me.
Before she could open her mouth of speak again, I run over and wrap my arms around her. She stood there in shock for a second before her arms go around me, where we hold each other so tightly.
'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have spoken to you the way I did before. This isn't your fault, but I continue to take it out on you, you want dad back as much as I do, and I should remember that." I say just allowing all the thoughts which had been swirling around my head to come to the surface. 'I was so scared that if something had happened to you, you would have gone thinking I hated you or hating me." I cry which causes her to pull away from me to look at her face, her eyes also having tears in them.
'There is nothing you could say or do which would make me hate you, yes we have got into arguments and don't always agree, but I'm still your mother Ally and I love you so much." She tells me, which was so crazy for me to hear, but also something I have wanted to hear throughout my whole life. 'What has happened to your dad was so shocking and strange to you, you're going to have these types of feeling. I can assure you; I never take any of those feelings personally." She says with a smile, but I still couldn't help feeling bad over these past few weeks.
'I think I was trying to look for someone around me to blame and for some reason, that person has been you. I will stop I promise, I see now that we're both on the same team." I say looking at her seriously, she smiles wiping my tears from my cheeks before pulling me in for a second hug.
