Chapter Twenty-Five

A few hours go by until I'm fully ready for the dinner, I don't get to dress up that often due to my work so when the opportunity arises, you know I go all out. As it was more of a fancy dinner, I wore a red silky dress with a slit up the side, I paired the dress with a pair of silver high heels and a pair of stud earrings. I take a look at myself in the mirror and smile, I look and feel like a normal girl. I know how that sounds but I'm surrounded by men all the time, not that there's anything wrong with that because I love my job and the people I work with. But I guess there's just sometimes I wanna feel normal, I take one more look at myself before grabbing my key card and leaving my room. I make my way down the hall, the noise from my heels filling the little space. A few years ago if I tried to walk in these, I probably would have fell flat on my face. Riley and I had to go undercover about a year ago, when we were preparing they all had a laugh that I looked like a penguin when walking in heels. Let's just say my feet were aching when it was all finished, it was from then that I started to walk around my bedroom in heels a few times a week. Now, I could probably run a mile in any type of heel, if I do say so myself. I soon arrive at the main room where all the guys were, for some reason I was getting a little nervous to walk in. "I see you've mastered the art of walking in heels, took you long enough" a mans voice says from behind me, I turn my head and come face to face with Riley "I remember the first time you tried, I must have caught you about twenty different times" he laughs slightly slipping his hands into his pockets, this was when I realised that I hadn't spoken yet. "It's a working process" I smile but take a look down at the ground, there was so much I wanted to tell him but I didn't know the right words and I knew he wasn't supposed to be here "how's the new team you've been assigned to?" I ask with a smile, my key card was dangling close to the scanner just in case this takes the same turn it did last time we were in front of each other. "Yeah it's okay, not even close to how great this team is though, I've only got myself to blame for that right?" He says sighing which does tell me this conversation is over, I don't need him asking me questions that I can't answer. "I better get going, I don't wanna be late for my undercover job, I'm glad you've settled in with your new team" I smile while scanning my key card on the scanner, I send him a final smile before opening the door and walking in. Once inside I see Brandon typing away on his laptop, but no one else was there. Toby is probably getting ready himself but I hadn't a clue where Morgan or Julian was, hopefully that has nothing to do with why Riley was here. I turn back to look at the door where he stood, he didn't break eye contact with me as Brandon speaks up from across the room. "Woah Taylor, looking good" Brandon smiles from behind his computer, I just laugh curtsying slightly as I went "Morgan and Julian are just trying to find some ear pieces for you to take, we have to be careful we don't use something that will get you caught" he explains as the side door opens causing me jump a little, this time Toby walks in wearing a blue suit, woah he looked good! He clocks me standing there where his mouth falls open, he begins to look me up and down while frozen in place. Oh right he's never seen me dress so girly, I hope he doesn't expect me to do this everyday, it took a lot of work! "Close your mouth, you might catch fly's " I laugh making my way over to him, while Brandon says he's gonna go help Morgan and Julian. "I will definitely be getting something" he smirks his eyes still scanning my entire body, I just roll my eyes coming to a stop in front of him. "When we first met, you were wearing a black suit which don't get me wrong looked good. But that blue suit just hits different" I smile looking him up and down now, before he could reply the doors open and in walks the guys, everyone has walked through different doors! "You two look great, I think we've found the best options on earpieces and microphones" Morgan says walking in with a handful of stuff, he places it all down on the counter while shifting through it all. "I think the best option we have is for Toby to hold the earpiece and once you're in, sneakily put it in your ear" Brandon says walking over with the tiny earpiece in his hand, but before he could pass it to me he looks to the side "is that Riley?" He asks pointing at the main door, he's still just standing outside there? Toby immediately tenses up pulling me closer to him, while simultaneously turning me away from the door which I wasn't even close to. "He knows he can't be around here, now you're ready leave, I'll make sure he doesn't come here again" Morgan grumbles angrily walking to the door, Toby takes my arm and pulls me away and out the side door, neither of us remembering to pick the earpiece up. As we head down the corridor, I hear Morgan's loud shouts rippling through the halls. I know Riley isn't meant to come anywhere near me, but it's not like he tried anything when we were having that chat. I wanted to go and tell Morgan it was fine, but Toby had already led me to the exit. But I have to stop him before he walked out, he isn't allowed to see the outside of this place. "It's lucky Morgan is having that conversation, if it were me there would be no way he'd go anywhere ever again" he growls his eyes turning a scary shade of black, I take a look around to see if we were in eyeshot of any cameras, when I learn we aren't I place my hands on either side of his face. "Calm down" I say looking him in the eyes as I went, which was hard because even in heels he was gigantic "we have to keep our heads in the game for tonight, forget about Riley" I say pulling him down to place my forehead against his, he closes his eyes taking a deep breath in and when they reopened, his beautiful eyes were back. I move away holding the blindfold up with a smile, his eyes go darker again where he takes a dangerous step towards me, this time he wasn't angry. "You're gonna wear this, you can't know where the alliance is located" I tell him pushing his chest, I knew what was going around his head when he saw that. "I would much prefer it if the roles were reversed" he smirks but I had already covered his eyes, where he replies with a deep growl. I just laugh making sure the blindfold was secure before leading him away, I take him by the hand helping him not fall down the stairs. A very fancy looking car sat outside, we have to look the part so rocking up in a alliance car isn't the mood. I open the car door helping him to sit, once he was in I lean over to clip his seatbelt in. "Isn't this brining back memories" he smiles as I finally find the buckle, I take a look around to make sure no one was around before planting a surprise kiss on his lips, to say he was shocked was a understatement "you're getting more confident doing that, be careful we don't get caught now" he smirks as I just close the car door behind me, as I get out my eyes move to a window, Riley looking down at me. Before he could move, Morgan had already grabbed him by the arm and dragged him away. Let's hope he didn't just see me kiss Toby, with whats happened I know he won't keep that secret. Toby knocking on the window snaps me back to reality, okay yes mission time! Time to go undercover.
