Chapter Thirty-Six

It was 4am the next morning, when Morgan saw the letter last night he was as shocked as me. Once I explained what I thought was happening, he couldn't see any other explanation and agreed with me. I had a busy day ahead of me, me and Brandon were going over to see Peter in hospital. He actually asked Lukas to get me to go and visit him, he said that he has some major information that he just knows will help us find Richard. After we talk to Peter, we're heading to where I think Ricard is gonna go next. This meant my day was starting this early, who knows when I'll be able to come home after all of this. I go over to Toby, placing a soft kiss on his head while putting the note I've left for him on my pillow. He stays in my room now, everyone in our team knows about us being mates and kind of overlooks it. They don't know about me being marked though, I make sure to wear scarfs or high necked tops to cover it. I do my final checks of the room, making sure I have everything before leaving my bedroom, it was a long way to the hospital so that's why we're leaving so early. I make my way down the corridor where I bump into someone, I steady myself to look over, where Julian was walking out of a supply cupboard looking rather shocked that I was stood in front of him. I was shocked I was still on my feet, it was as though I walked into a brick wall! "Julian, what are you doing down here?" I ask giving him a super confused look, I don't think I have to explain the rules of my corridor again do I? "I..um was just coming to see if you were okay, I know it's been hard with your dad and things" he mutters out which still didn't make me feel any better, why would he be in a supply cupboard? "And you were checking on me in a supply cupboard?" I ask looking at the handle, that he blocks with his body "you're hiding something in there, or you wouldn't be blocking the entrance at 4am" I say moving forward but he pushes me away slightly, wait did he just lay his hands on me?! "Yes there's something in there that I don't want you to see.....yet" he says which does take me by surprise, one because he admitted that he is indeed hiding something and two, he said I couldn't see it yet "please Taylor, I've kept your secret of Toby so please keep this, if you don't I'll just have to tell the director about you and Toby" he says which does just successfully tick me off, where in the heck did that come from?! "The whole team knows about that and are helping me as a team, you obviously don't know the meaning of that" I say not even bothered about what's in there anymore, I was more concerned at his blatant disregard for others feelings "lies and secrets is not what Morgan's team runs on, Riley learnt that the hard way but obviously, you're also gonna be learning that lesson too" I say in a disgusted way before walking down the corridor, while he stayed behind at his beloved supply cupboard "that's not the best start to the team, falling out with the senior member will not be a good thing for you, I'll be expecting more bins for you to climb in" I say where his eyes just go wide, what he thought I was just gonna lie down and take what he just said? I scan my keycard walking out the corridor before he had the chance to talk, how dare he say that! I haven't had time to think about what's gonna happen with Toby, I don't need him or the director getting involved in any of that. I walk into the main room where Brandon was sat with his cup of coffee, he takes a big gulp before throwing the cup into the bin. "You're right about one thing, you do start to have a relationship with coffee" he says repeating what I told Julian the day he started, maybe I should have told him some other things too. "Let's just go, I need some distance between me and some people in this place" I grumble whilst grabbing my things, I knew Brandon was gonna question me in the car, he probably thinks it's something to do with Toby. He doesn't question me right on the spot and just hurries after me, I was already in the car before he had time to open his draw. I couldn't help but wonder what weird thing Julian's hiding in the cupboard. Maybe he's got a weird obsession with someone on the team, hopefully it's not me. Before I had time to dwell on the thought, Brandon comes running out of the building and jumps in the car. "Julian asked if he could come, I told him Peter probably doesn't want a bunch of people there" Brandon says clipping his seatbelt in, oh yeah I bet Julian would want to come, probably to test the waters. I just roll my eyes pulling the car away, as we leave I take a look in the mirror on the car, to see Julian standing outside the main entrance. I just shake my head turning around the corner, I will find out what he's hiding in that supply cupboard some day very soon. We were now finally pulling into Toby's pack, we would have been here an hour ago but a tree had fell in the road. This meant we only had limited time here, the place where I think Richard is gonna be we have to be there at a certain time, let's hope he can make it to everything. The long journey did allow me to tell Brandon about Julian, he told me there were cameras in basically all the rooms apart from the bathrooms and bedrooms obviously. He couldn't do it from here, but when we get back he'll hack into the cameras and see if we can see what he's hiding. I know this might be invading his privacy, but he doesn't have to be so cagey about it all. If you want to hide something so no one finds it, try to act a little more normal so people don't start to question it! We soon pull up at the border of Toby's pack, it feels like I've been here more than I have at the alliance. I get out of the car and start to walk over to the border, Brandon was quicker on his feet since the first time we arrived here. He's really grown as an agent through this whole time, maybe Riley leaving was actually a great thing for Brandon. The same guard as always was stood there, he smiles over at me bowing his head in respect. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance again, Peter is waiting for you at the hospital. Now we usually have someone to escort you there, but all the pack members are going through training right now" he explains while I just smile, Brandon and I are fully capable of finding our way around. "It's totally fine, we're not here to make anybody's lives difficult, I'm pretty sure I saw a sign for the hospital by the pack house" I say thinking back to when I was here with Luisa, as an agent you're trained to spot all of the little things. "That's correct, you can't miss it" the guard smiles moving aside so we could walk passed, I thank him before leading Brandon through the border. The walk over to the pack house was peaceful, every time we've been here there are people running around everywhere. But they're all at training, I wonder where the training is? It was a really hot day today, which kind of sucked as I had to cover my neck with scarf, my neck was getting insanely sweaty. "Take the scarf off, I know you're marked" Brandon tells me as he spots I was fanning my neck, maybe I also need to learn how to hide things from people better "I spotted it the other day, the collar of your top moved slightly, don't worry your secret is safe with me" he smiles holding his hand out, I just smile unwrapping my neck and handing him the scarf, to say it was a relief would be a huge understatement. He slips the scarf in his bag as I spot wolves, they were running up and down with someone shouting orders at them. Across from them were people also running up and down, while some were being trained to hit each other. I guess we've found where they're training, it kind of looks like how we train at the alliance. "Luna, do you want to come and train with us?!" A young girl asks, immediately all eyes fall to me where I take a look to Brandon. "I would love to, but unfortunately, I have to work but after I'm done I'll come watch you for a couple of minutes" I suggest with a smile, they all begin to cheer which does take me by surprise. I send them a final wave before we start heading once again to the pack house, I know a pack house is always at the centre of a pack which would mean all the other buildings will probably be around it, if that makes sense. It was strange to me that I'm the Luna of this pack, it definitely doesn't feel like it but when the pack members talk to me, it's like we have this weird kind of connection. "It'll work out Taylor, everything does in the end" Brandon says out it nowhere, I send him a smile as the sign for the hospital comes into view "let's go and get this done, so you can watch your pack members train" he smiles as we reach the stairs, I nod my head with a smile before following Brandon in. In this meeting, we got more then we ever bargained for.
