Chapter Thirteen

We were just about to pull up at the alliance, I asked Brandon to hack into the documents that hold all of the security timetables of their shifts. When they ask why we're not logged as leaving, we can simply say the time we arrived and say the person before them didn't write us down, see how my amazing plans work. The guys had blindfolds on while the prisoner was sat how they were before, oh how the times have changed. It's only been a few days since they first arrived here, but yet there's been such a dramatic shift. Toby and I have mated with one another, I'm still not marked even if Toby wants to so bad. You might be thinking that we rushed into things, but some wolves meet and by the same night they're fully mated! Some people just work that quickly! Lukas was less annoying this car ride, it's either he's become less annoying or I'm getting used to it. Once we pull up at the gate, I hand the file over that gives Toby and Lukas clearance. The security guard reads through the file while looking in, where he clocks the dude sat like a prisoner. "On the way to collect the Alpha and Beta, this man jumps out and tries to attack us" I explain pointing back at the guy in the back, due to the sack over his head you couldn't see how bad his face looked "he's one of Richards workers" I say which does make the dudes eyes go wide, this is the first guy from Richard that we've caught. "Lucky to get him off the street, now I don't see anything that says you left but we all know how incompetent Olly is at his job" the dude says typing things into the computer, so I didn't even have to make Brandon look at who was working when we left, thanks Olly. The gates soon open allowing us to drive through, that went smother than it did when we brung them in the first time. This time around though, we wasn't breaking any rules. I soon pull up outside of our building, when I spot someone looking at us through the window, I couldn't make out who they were though. "I'll get Toby and the douche bag, you get Lukas" I tell Brandon who finally puts his laptop away, I wouldn't even think to give him the prisoner, he's in cuffs but I don't know how Brandon would handle it. He nods his head while I get out of the car, this was when I could make out who was looking at me. Riley, he was stood with his arms crossed watching my every move. I knew from the window he was standing in, that he was probably having a meeting about what happened. I send him a little smile before walking over to Toby's door, as I was looking at Riley, Brandon had already opened Lukas's door. "I'm faster than you" Brandon says shocked as I unclip Toby's seatbelt, he wouldn't have been if Riley didn't distract me. "You must be getting better at your job Brandon" I smile a little but I couldn't stop my voice sounding off, even though I tried so hard to do so. Once Toby was out the car, I go to get the prisoner out who I hadn't heard a peep since Toby roughed him around a little. I was worried he was dead until I unclipped his seatbelt causing him to jump, someone's on edge a little. I take hold of Toby's arm as the dude gets out the car, when he finally does I lead them both into the building. "What's wrong, the sound of your voice indicated that you were upset?" Toby asks as Brandon opens the door with his key card, it was strange that he was in front that's normally where I am. "I saw Riley in one of the windows" I mutter as the main door to the main room came into view, where I see the director standing in the middle "guys the director is already waiting, you know what to do" I say before Toby could make a comment about Riley, Brandon uses his key card once again opening the door up. Brandon bows his head first while taking Lukas's blindfold off, the look of shock and surprise on Morgan's and the directors faces when I walked in with a prisoner, kind of made me wanna laugh. I come to a stop having to go on my tiptoes to take Toby's blindfold off, he was quite tall! "While we were collecting the Alpha and Beta, this dude runs over and attempts to attack us, he works for Richard" I tell them as like I did the security guard, their faces also held surprise when that left my lips. "While I talk with the Alpha and Beta here, you and Brandon can take him to the cells, he'll be needing a rest before our integration" the director says with a little smirk, I did warn him that he wouldn't like what was about to happen. I bow my head towards her before leading him away, Brandon was already holding the door open to leave. I turn my head back to look at the guys, where I spot Toby looking at me with a little smile. It was my turn to send him a wink before I leave the room. We walk in silence for a few minutes, Brandon would be ahead opening the doors for me and douche. It was only once we left the cells he spoke. "I don't think Riley's gonna be allowed back, if he is it won't be with this team" he says reaching to unlock the door but I stand in front, that was a weird thing just to come out with "I'm just guessing" he quickly remarks trying to cover up what he just said, but I stand in front of the door with my arms crossed. "What do you know and how do you know it?" I ask giving him one of my looks, he wasn't leaving this room until he told me whatever it was he knew. "I was told I wasn't allowed to tell you" he whines but I just raise my eyebrow, he's gonna have to do better than that to get out of here "okay, before we left, Morgan told me that Riley is having a meeting with some higher up people, he says if they decide he's allowed to come back to work he'll be assigned to another team, where he'll never cross paths with you" Brandon finally spills his guts rather quickly, I thought I'd have to do more persuading than that. I turn my head looking at the door slightly, Riley and I have never been on any other team. To think of starting a brand new case, without his annoying voice that he likes to put on while reading names he's never heard. Or the late night coffee runs he does if we're working late on a case, or his constant need of a snack in his hand. Life just won't feel normal without him here. "Morgan didn't want to tell you unless he knew for sure, which was probably why he was hesitant to tell me" Brandon sighs from behind me breaking me from my thoughts, I turn shaking my head with a smile. "I'm fine, Riley was made for this job so if he has to move teams to keep it, that's a great decision the higher ups would make. And anyway we'll probably have a new member of the team joining, you'll have to turn into Riley and act like he did when you joined" I smile wrapping my arm around his shoulders laughing, it's the way the old members break in the new ones. "Don't remind me, I still see the people at the coffee table giving me weird looks. I should have known a worm laced coffee wasn't a real thing, I was just nervous for you to like me" he says as I allow him to unlock the door and we walk back into the main room, the director still talking with the guys. "Now normally, when we have visitors in the alliance they stay in the visitors quarters. But as the alliance is under construction they are full, you will have to stay in the rooms in the teams building" she tells them which just makes me smile a little, that's where they've been staying anyway "I will leave you in the safe hands of Morgan and his team, the issue with Richard will be over soon with this team, they're the best we've got here" she says which causes me and Brandon to look at each other, we're the best?! "Don't let that go to your heads you two" Morgan says without turning around to look at us, oh it was far to late for that. "I better get off and let you get to work" The director smiles before walking out the main door, the room is silent until the door closes. "We're the best!" Brandon cheers throwing his hands in the air, well that wasn't the reaction I thought I'd get from him, but I loved it! "At least we don't have to sneak you guys around anymore, you have cards of your own" I exclaim looking at the blue cards around their necks not like our red ones, it shows all the other agents that they're visitors. "So with these we can go to anywhere in the alliance?" Lukas asks all intrigued, he's been asking me since he got here what secrets we're hiding behind each door. "You have access to certain doors, not all" Morgan corrects him pooping on Lukas's fireworks, he sighs sitting down at one of the tables "now they are here we can start to finally do some proper work, you have seen the quiet side of the alliance, now is where the real work starts" Morgan smiles which does make a smile form on my lips. Let the work begin.
