A deal with Myra
Chapter 32
A deal with Myra
I clicked on the button of the elevator and it opened, I got in and rested on the wall of the elevator. I checked my wrist watch and saw that I was right on time. By the time I get to Myra's door, it would be the exact time that I told her. Tonight, I have to play my cards right. Whether I'll be able to solve the mess I find myself or not would depend on the dinner and it is a must that things go my way. I've had everything planned, I just have to follow the process.
If Danni hadn't done the unexpected, I wouldn't be in this tight position. The stupid thing had gone a long way with his game this time around and he got me pretty well. The drug business has always been where I made real money, now it is about to shatter into pieces because of Danni. My money, merchandise and shipment were gone and if care is not taken, I would have nothing to sort Crest Oils.
Myra's confessions had come at the perfect time, I thought again and ran my hands through my hair ,careful not to disrupt the perfectly styled hair. If Danni hadn't put me in this tight position, I probably wouldn't have accepted Myra or maybe I'd have taken my time to give her some reply but I didn't have the time to spare. I need all I could gather to sort the mess I was in. Myra had the means that I needed and by all means, I don't mind playing with her a bit to get what I want. She is an orphan,so I can do as much as I want with her.
Another reason why I agreed to allow her to catch the feelings was because her confession was like killing two birds with one stone. Dating her would allow me access to funds that I wanted to keep my business going and also, it was only a matter of time before she blindly let her guards down, giving me room to transfer Jay Automobiles to myself. Knowing Carl, he'd probably give his belongings to her after all Bella was dead and he didn't like Britney one bit.
‘Bella,'I muttered.
Myra's condition of no sexual relations had reminded me of her briefly. Myra had said those conditions just like Bella did while they had dinner over a little candle years back. If I didn't have a staunch disagreement about superstitious beliefs,I would have thought that maybe she was Bella but I was damn sure about Myra with the thorough research I did. Moreover Bella wasn't as brilliant and outspoken as Myra. All she did then was live up to all that I wanted. She had no mind of her own and did my biddings all through.
The elevator pinged and I stepped out, shaking the ridiculous thoughts out of my mind. I walked to Myra's door and knocked, the door opened just as I was about to knock again.
She stepped out in her v-neck gown which exposed her cleavages in a decent but baddie look. Her hair curled up and descended down her shoulders. Her lips were painted in a very colourful shade of red that matches her ruby stone necklace. In truth, Myra looked beautiful.
'You look lovely tonight," Myra I said, unable to stop myself from gaping at her
'You cleaned up well yourself," she said. I pulled out my palm and she placed hers on it while we headed downstairs to the restaurant.
I had reserved the whole of the restaurant for both of us. It was an important evening and I didn't want anyone messing it up for me .
'You really went out of your way, Royce. You never ceased to amaze me with all that you do." She said, smiling happily.
'I hear that all the time," I said with pride as we sat down in our chairs. The waiter came around and took our orders, he returned shortly, placing our food before us. I dugged into mine as I was truly famished. The day had been hectic for me and it felt good to be finally free of burden from work.
We both engaged in small talks as we ate while I glanced at my watch at regular intervals. It was almost time for my plan to begin unfolding. After checking again and shaking my legs nervously under the table my phone rang.
‘Finally!' I thought and picked up, 'hello,". I said into the phone, standing up and turning my back to Myra. I walked away a bit from her but enough for her to read my expressions and body languages.
'Sai cosa stai dicendo? Ti rendi conto di cosa significa questo?( Do you know what you are saying?" Do you realise what this means?) I said in Italian, I turned around a bit and with the way she frowned, she didn't seem to get what I was saying.
'Non mi interessa come lo fai, trova la mia spedizione e se qualcuno si mette in mezzo, sistemalo." (I don't care how you get this done, find my shipment and if anyone gets in the way, sort him out)
I ended the call sharply and took my seat back. I drew my glass closer and emptied the wine in the glass with one swift motion of my hand and frowned. I held my cutlery tightly, all of the actions were just so Myra could ask me and she did exactly what I thought.
'What was that about and what language was that? You sounded angry."
'Sorry, it was Italian and it was nothing serious, just…it's not a big deal."
'Has anyone told you how much of a terrible liar you are?" she said, staring deeply into eyes.
'It's just business…shit happens, you know," I said again
'Are you into any deals right now?" She asked persistently.
'Not my hotel deal, it's…a side hustle that I do to compliment my work," I said, stuttering in order to make it look believable. 'I've been on it for a while, recently, I invested quite a lot in it but it seems that it would fail, and if it does, I'll be in deep shit," I said
'I'm so sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do to help? I know quite a number of people you know," she said. I did a double somersault internally, she had said exactly what I hoped that she would say.
'I can't ask you to help me, especially on a day like this when we are celebrating. It would be uncourteous of me to do that."
'Oh please, tell me if you need anything Royce. I asked you too didn't I? Let me decide if it is uncourteous of you or not." She urged.
'If you insist, " I said, moving closer before whispering, "I need about a million pounds to sort this out and prevent the catastrophe." I said. She opened her eyes in shock, poured herself a little bit of wine and drank before speaking.
'What's my take home in all of these?" She asked to my surprise.
'Do you want something from this? You don't even know what kind of business I'm talking about."
'I know you Royce, you won't even give it a thought if it's not worth it. Plus, I'm a business woman, I don't mix business with pleasure." She said, 'How about a fifty-fifty percent share and who knows? I might keep giving you all you need to keep funding this side hustle," She added, smiling.
I stared at her in bewilderment, I knew she had the head for business but I didn't expect that she'd be this good.
'Let's make it sixty-forty," I said.
'We have a deal," she said, stretching her hands out for a handshake. 'Let your assistant speak to mine and you'll hear from my accountant," she said.
