Chapter 59 Dangerous night 'You are truly a master planner,Selena," I said as I finished the video of the woman who disrupted Myra's wedding again. I've watched it countless times and yet, everytime,it gave me a feeling of contentment and happiness. The shock on her face in the video was priceless and I'm sure she wasn't expecting it at all 'Even though we won this round, I still feel like we have to be careful of her. She's no small fish," Selena said 'Careful? She can't do anything to us. It's not like she's some god. She doesn't know you have anything to do with this right? There's no way she'll trace it to us and there are so many things we can use against her right?" 'Yes of course. I'm sure if we find someone amongst her classmates and speak to them,we'll find juicy stuff about her." 'That's the spirit. You know I never thought we could sync like this,how didn't we both click from the beginning?" 'I know right, I'm glad we finally compromised and found a common ground." She said, I looked at the side mirror of my car and it felt like a figure just passed through it. I double checked to be sure I didn't see wrong but saw nothing. However,it didn't shake off the feeling that danger was lurking in the shadows. 'Is it me or can you also feel that something isn't right. As if the air had changed," I said 'Stop being paranoid, this place is silent except for us. It's a road that's rarely used. There's no point in being scared," Selena replied but I took no heed to her words. She mentioned that she knows someone who might be able to give her something about Myra and so, she brought out her phone. Suddenly, someone tapped on the side mirror, shocking the life out of us. I was about to wind down when I noticed the baton on his hand. Selena must have noticed too because she screamed. 'Move it! Britney," with a lightning speed,I ignited the car and pressed on the pedal. My heart began to race as I sped off. Checking in the mirror,I noticed that we're now being tailed by a black car. 'Step in it, Britney," Selena urged in fright and kept looking back while I focused my attention on the road. And then in a flash_ Bang! The car jounced forward vigorously as the black car rammed into us. I kept my hand steady on the wheel, trying to keep the car on the road while Selena yelled beside me 'What the actual hell?" Selena gasped. I stepped on the accelerator, trying to move as far as possible away from the car but it was no way done with us. With its headlights on, the driver of the car pressed on the accelerator too and got beside us,he rolled down his side window, revealing his face. He smiled wickedly and I gasped as I saw his brown teeth. 'Hold up, you bitch, " he said and then with precision, he veered off course and rammed into us again by the side. The impact sent my car off the road. I and Selena began to shout as I managed to manipulate the car till it hit a nearby tree. ********************************* I sucked some breath in as I woke up with a jolt. I hissed in pain as my head wouldn't stop banging. Blinking my eyes severely,I tried to adjust them to the darkness in the room but I couldn't see a thing. However, I could smell sweat and blood. I felt a pang of pain coming from my hand which had been tied to my back. As I struggled to free myself from the bondage, Selena coughed too, waking up. She realised the situation we both are in and began to move impatiently, trying to wriggle out from the rope. 'Stop that,you are hurting me," I said in a whisper 'Where are we?" She whispered back. I opened my mouth to reply that I had no idea about our location when I heard something like an iron door opening. The creaking of the door was followed by footsteps, walking towards us. Slowly the room became illuminated as the man who slammed into our car earlier lit the candle in the room, giving us a proper view of the room. The door opened again, revealing a tall, one eyed man whose countenance looked scary. 'Who are you guys and why are you doing this to us?" Selena asked with shaky voice 'You sure know how to ask questions for someone whose hands are tied with a rope,the scary man," sneered 'You are going to regret this,do you know who I am? How dare you treat us like this?" I spat in anger. 'Do you know my husband,he's__" In a second,I felt the backhand effect of the man's hand on my face and I yelped in pain. I tasted the metallic taste of blood in my mouth as he did that and I spit it out instantly I heard Selena gasping in shock as she saw my bloody lips. Her eyes began to swell up with water. 'You animal!" She said The first man walked to her and clasped her chin in his face. I winced in pain too as I watched her bones crack under his fierce grip. Selena grimaced in pain and water began to spill from her eyes. 'Don't think too highly of yourself because you have a husband at the top of the ladder. No one is untouchable and there are far more dangerous people in the universe than your stupid shitty husband. 'Please,let her go," I pleaded with him. The scary man got to the first man and held his hand, telling him to release the grip on Selena's face. The man walked to me and yanked my hair from the back, making me groan. 'Listen to me, you two. I'm not going to hurt you but you need to open your ears well. Stop meddling in affairs that have nothing to do with you. This is just a warning but the next time you mess up again, I might not be too gentle on you, he said as he traced my chin with the knife in his hands. Meddling in people's affairs? I thought. For some reason the phrase sounds familiar. I ransacked my brain for whose business I was affecting and the pieces came together. Myra! 'Did Myra send you?" I blurted out before I could stop myself. I've only been caught up in her matters and no one else. 'I don't know who that is but trust me when I say you won't be this lucky the next time you see both of us" he replied. 'There won't be next time because I'll make sure to tell this to the police. Don't forget that I've seen your face,"Selena said, taking me by surprise. The scary man brought out a knife from his jacket and moved towards her. 'How about I remove both of your eyes. Let's see if you'll still be able to remember this face." He pierced the knife against the sides of her face and drew blood out of it. 'Stop it," the first man commanded, making the scary man stop. 'They've learnt their lesson. Make sure they get home safely." The man nodded and moved towards us. He placed a tape on our mouth before dragging us out of the warehouse. By the time we got out, another black car was already waiting for us. The scary man guided us in and instructed the driver to drop us off. The car zoomed off as both I and Selena sat in silence,each carried away by the waves of their thoughts.
