Chapter 8 WildCard 'Unbelievable!" I muttered as I stared at the news on the television. What the hell was going and who the hell is this Myra? How powerful is she that she could change everything around within hours? I switched off the television in anger but the social media was going agog with the news too. The picture of Myra, Carl and the executives stood, smiling to the camera. How did she reinstate Carl and get him to abdicate the position to her? Although the company hasn't said anything about the whole process, it was merely a matter of time before the whole signing process gets sorted. The anger I was feeling had made me storm out of the conference room , refusing to see the end of it. I couldn't wait to see the end of it when it was obvious that I had masterminded the whole thing. Even though Carl didn't once accuse me of loyalty, I'm sure he knows what I was doing. 'Kent?" I said as soon as he picked up. Kent had been my private Investigator for a long time and has always been of help in matters that needed to be settled. No matter how hidden the thing or someone is, he'll make sure to get to the root. 'This is no time for pleasantries Kent. Have you seen the news? Find me everything you can on Myra Cullen. She has disrupted the whole plan," I said and ended the call with anger. My phone rang again,it was from a burner phone. I didn't need to ask because I knew who it was. 'What the hell is all of this news all over the television and social media?" He asked angrily. 'Murphy, calm down a bit. This is nobody's fault, I don't know where this lady came from. Be rest assured that I am doing everything to get to her root." I said with irritation. 'You want me to be rest assured? Why didn't you tie all these loopholes? Do you know how many investors are in this? My phone is about to blow off from their callings. How do you expect me to explain this mess to them? He asked. 'You need to calm down. No one knew that Carl had a hidden card in his sleeves. It was a reinforcement that I never anticipated. We just need to cut her off" I said 'We? Don't fucking say that. This is on you! This lady is a poison to us all. She'll be the end of us if care is not taken. She's quite ambitious and doesn't mind doing anything to get Jay Automobiles back on its feet." He said. 'Listen to me Royce, Jay Automobiles must become mine and the earlier you get to it the better." I sighed and massaged my forehead in frustration. 'She's nothing but a wildcard and has proven herself to be a threat to us all. The next thing on the agenda is to get rid of her before she ruins everything totally." She hissed as she slammed her phone on the table, hissing again for the hundredth time since she entered. 'What's this all about Royce? Is it even possible to do this? Someone from nowhere shows up and not only did she reinstate the old hag, she got herself his position. Now, I can't even get to be an executive, talk more about being the CEO!" She stressed like a caged tiger. 'Take it easy my darling, I've spoken with Kent and I'm sure he'll get us something on Myra very soon." I said with assurance. 'I heard she used to be Bella's friend, do you think she knows everything about her and what happened between us?" She asked but I shook my head. 'I don't think so. Plus, I never heard anything about her from Bella." I said as I walked to her. 'Let's wait and see what Kent has," I said again. 'Kent?" She asked. 'I don't think we have time to do that. You know how long it takes to do all these. I suggest that we come with a plan on the surface while Kent is busy doing what he does best underneath." She suggested. 'A plan? What plan? I suggest we get rid of her. Clear out the way from unnecessary impediments. We mustn't underestimate her the second time." I said. 'Listen to me Royce. Why don't we get close to her and get to know her more? Let's make her feel like we have some kind of connection. Remember that she used to be Bella's friend. You could make her feel like an ally to you since you are still devastated about Bella's death," she said winking. 'She doesn't look like someone who'd easily get swayed by anything. She has pledged her allegiance to Carl and so be it. I don't think she'll want to switch over to us so quickly. I'd rather she remains an enemy to us than embark on mission impossible" I opined. 'You forget so soon that everyone has a price. Remember how Henry had remained calm during the meeting? I'm sure Myra got to him and offered him something he wanted and bought him to her side. What's more? She's a young, vibrant woman, she definitely must possess a pandora box." She said with excitement 'And if she doesn't?" I asked 'Then we find her one Royce. It's as simple as that. Myra is a problem that needs to be solved as soon as possible. In fact, the earlier the better, and we must use whatever tactics we can we have" My phone vibrated again. It was Kent, I frowned as I picked the call. If he was calling back this soon, would it be so easy to get something on her? I picked the phone in anticipation and even put it on a loudspeaker. However, I've spoken with my colleagues in Africa and they promised to look into her stay while she was there. Hopefully they'll get me something," he said and I ended the phone. 'I told it wasn't worth it. Let's kill two birds with a stone. While we wait for Kent, let's get Myra to our side," she said and the first time, I realised that I had no other choice than to get close to her like Britney suggested.
