Chapter 58 Dealing with the bitches The steps I took to get to my car from that room were the most annoying and dangerous ones. With each step that I took,I kept looking back to make sure none was following me because I didn't trust him. I dropped the envelope on the passenger's side of the car and switched on my phone. I had switched it off earlier because I knew Christian might call while I was with Danni. As soon as the phone came to life, difficult messages and voice messages from Christian popped up. ‘I'll attend to them later," I thought and I switched on the engine of the car and turned towards the road that led into the town. My phone vibrated and rang out. It was Christian calling 'You scared the hell out of me, your phone was switched off." He said, his breathings uneven. 'I was with Danni. There's fire on the mountain,he knows everything about me. He knows that I'm__" 'Take precautions, Myra. Let's meet at our usual place. I'll be waiting for you." He said and ended the call. I understood the need to take precautions because I wasn't using a burner phone and that means it could be tapped. I gripped the steering wheel with such force and drove to Christian. ******************************************************** It didn't take long before I got to the front of Christian's house. I raced out of the car into the house. Immediately I got in,I smelled the aroma of thick coffee and something else that smelled like cake but I really wasn't in the mood. I had more pressing matters to discuss than thinking about how to fill my stomach. The living room was deserted. I looked around, hoping to see Christian waiting for me by the bar but saw no one. This added to my anxiety as I looked around. I turned towards the stairs and was about to go in when I heard his baritone voice. 'Myra," he said. He had a cup of coffee with him and handed it to me when he got to me. I collected it and took several sips. He held my hand and dragged me to the living room and made me sit in one of the chairs. I sank into the soft leather and sighed with anxiety. I threw the fire on his table and spoke. 'Danni conducted a DNA test. He knows everything," I said. He took the papers out of the file and checked for himself before dropping it gently on the table. 'If he allowed you to go with this, he must have asked for something in return." He said, studying me curiously. 'Tell me you made a good deal with Danni, Myra,"he said in a way that said that he didn't trust me. 'I'm going to give him a piece of meat like the dog he is and he'll keep quiet. I promised him a bit of a deal with Jayden. And I know you might not like it but I'm left with no option." I replied defensively. 'That doesn't sound bad but you do know he won't stop here right? He'll keep wanting to get more. It's either we find a way to silence him…forever or he comes up with a plan that might eventually destroy you." He reasoned My chest tightened in fright as I considered his words carefully. There is no lie in his concerns,Danni is like a leper,he has nothing to lose, only do. He might turn against me if someone else offers him a better offer. However,I remembered that I have some of his secrets too. The world is brutal; if he tries shit with me, I'll give him a taste of his own medicine. 'I have that covered," I said. 'Sure, whatever you say. But don't say I didn't tell you. I'll get Jayden ready whenever you are ready." 'There's one more thing. I want to deal with Selena and Britney for what they did. The duo put me in this mess, they humiliated me by sending me a surprise. I'd like to return the favour by making a mockery of them too." I said through my teeth. 'How do you want me to deal with them?" He asked, smirking. 'Anyhow you deemed fit. I want their feathers clipped." I said and then dropped the now cold mug in my hand. 'I won't let anyone disturb or ruin me or any of my plans,not after all I've been through" 'You know this happened because you don't listen right? You should have silence Britney before now but you refuse to heed to my advice. Now that she no longer has the child she'd use to leverage Royce, she'll be reckless in her decisions. Like Danni, she's got nothing to lose" 'What I'm worried about now is the fact that since I broke up with Royce,she might find her way to him again. I'm sure they'll both gang up against me. If she pushes Royce too well, he'll start digging really fast. And Selena,the snake has been the one whispering things into Britney's ears. The combination of both of them is dangerous,so I can't leave them be." I said with concern. 'How exactly do you want me to deal with them, something neutral or more permanent? I need you to specify how you want me to carry out your instructions." He said with alacrity. I considered what the best way to deal with them might be but at the same time, I don't want to do too much. Just something to scare them off. 'Something neutral would do fine, maybe intimidate them. Make them realise that the are trespassing and scare them off" 'I'll have someone tail them to know their schedule and then we can strike them." 'That reminds me, what do we have about Royce's investigator?" 'Bad news. Someone had dealt with him before we got to him. Funnily enough,he has nothing on you. Infact, he sustained an injury while pursuing your identity." He said 'That's bad,Royce would think it's me who did this. Why is everything working against me? Why must I suffer for something I have no idea about. I'd have to hasten my plans then before things get too messy, it's only a matter of time before he finds out about me. ' Do you think this has anything to do with Danni?" Christian said and I ruminate over his words. Danni is one slimy bastard that can't be trusted and the earlier I finished everything the better.
