13- Uncontrollable
~ 1 Month Later ~
A month after their engagement, things escalated than anticipated as it was getting hard for the love birds to stay away from each other. Defeated against the allure, Isra couldn't help but to agree to get married whenever they want, deciding to start her new life with Emraz who is every girl's dream guy.
"Seems like Isra Bhabhi also couldn't resist Bhai's charm." Hoor chuckled. Exhilarated that they will get married before she leaves so she could attend the marriage of her beloved Brother.
"Yeah Api, did you see the way she looked at Bhai?" Hoorain chirped, pushing Emraz by her elbow.
"Cut it out you too." He sighed, shaking his head while knowing deep down that's what he wants.
"No, seriously. I thought she would take a year or so but she agreed to marry just a month after engagement." Hoor said,
"Bhai's spell is on everyone." Rayan smirked, joining the conversation, sitting down, "Not you too, Rayan." He pinched the bridge of his nose, the siblings chuckled at their brother.
"What? I am right."
"Ah, it's still unbelievable, Isra agreed. But because of the stunt these two pulled, I had to bear the talks of my in-laws." Hoor hissed at Rayan.
"What?" He shrugged, not knowing what she was talking about. "Oh, you being her fake boyfriend. They are just... I have told Haider we are leaving as soon as we can." She sighed deeply, shaking her head in disappointment.
"That was just a pretense. leave it and we already explained it to them." Emraz shrugged, not bothered about it.
"Leave them, tell when are we going to decide the date?" Hoorain beamed, holding Emraz's arm, "This weekend." He replied.
"I think October is fine for marriage. The weather is pleasant and there are still three months for it. We can manage it." Hoor suggested.
"Uh.. Isn't it too early?" Rayan asked hesitantly, displeased by the whole marriage ordeal.
"Oh hush, our bride and groom are ready, they wouldn't mind if we call the priest now." Hoor said.
"That's too far." Rayan argued.
"Shut up, Rayan, don't interfere with the love birds." Hoor clicked her tongue at him before turning her attention to Emraz. "Love Birds? I am sure Bhai hadn't even confessed yet." Wanting to stop but his lips are producing words without his will. He doesn't want to fight but he is making things difficult by his vague talks.
"Even if he hasn't, the love in his eyes is visible to anyone." Hoor smiled. Emraz giggled at his sister, shaking his head. Then why is mine invisible?! Rayan thought angrily and asked, "What about her?"
"Watch your mouth, Rayan. She is not our Isra whom you can piss and fight. She is becoming our Bhabhi, you have to respect her now." Hoor scolded him in a stern tone, infuriated at his words. His senses also returned, lips forming a thin line, he looked down, mumbling.
"Sorry.."
"Hey, chill dude. I am sure she wouldn't mind." Emraz smiled, cheering him up.
"Hoor is right, I have to learn." Rayan said, sighing, knowing what was happening to him was not in his control, making him do what he didn't want.
"Chill man." Emraz reassured him as they began to talk and spend a sweet time together.
Later Rayan was pacing around his room anxiously as everyone went to fix the date of wedding and he excused and left for a meeting, trying to separate himself from these parts which are going to invoke beastly desires from him.
He waited impatiently for them to return and tell him what date they fixed for marriage. He was worried.
When they returned, he once again acted normally and asked, "Hey, so what date do you decide?"
"Hoor was right, October was fine." Emraz told him. "Bhai is getting married at the end of October!" Hoorain announced, utterly rejoiced, running around the mansion, telling everyone about the beautiful morning chasing them. .
"I see..." Rayan hummed and went back to his room without showing much response, acting as if it didn't affect him.
At work, he was setting things up for an upcoming event being held in their hotel, checking up on things. "And make sure things go well." He told his assistant.
"Yes, Sir."
"Where's the theme plan?" He asked, turning to the team.
"Ma'am Isra had it."
"And where is she?" He asked and no reply from them indicated she was late. He sighed and told his assistant, "Go and call her." She nodded and left to get her.
Isra came with her, smiling apologetically, speaking sweetly, "I am so sorry, Sir, I am late I was making last changes-" Rayan cut her off in a pissed tone,
"Miss Bukhari, I have no interest in hearing your excuses."
".. I apologize, Sir." She said, looking down, putting the files and her laptop on the table.
"Miss Bukhari on your very first day, I constantly reminded you about the importance of time, to be in meetings at time." He scolded her sternly.
"This won't happen again, Sir." She said, looking at him.
"It's not your previous workplace where you can do whatever you want. I expected professionalism from you." He didn't care and continued to scold her but she only listened with her big eyes, looking back at him, nodding in response. "I don't care about it later but if it happens again, you better leave." He hissed in the end.
"I understand, Sir. I won't let it happen." She smiled a little, moving back. Getting scolded by Rayan for being late wasn't new to her so she didn't mind.
"Good." He hummed, moving back, motioning her to start, "Let's continue the meeting."
Irsa cleared her throat and began to say, "I didn't want designs you can easily find on Google so I changed the whole theme." She said, glaring at her staff and began to show him the whole plan, explaining things in detail, "That's all." She paused to get a reaction from Rayan.
"Impressive." He smiled a little,
"Thank you, Sir." She grinned as the meeting ended. Isra was having her lunch until he joined her as well.
"You are not angry at me, are you?" He asked.
"What? No. You were right, I was late and deserved to be scolded." She smiled, tugging her hair behind and eating her food.
"I see..." He hummed and swallowed hard and gave himself a series of curses before saying, "Isra... I am worried about you." He said sadly, looking up at her.
"What happened?" Her lips curled downward, raising brow at his words. "Can I ask you something? Please don't mind." He said sweetly.
"Of course, what is it?" She smiled, "Have you talked to Bhai... about having kids?" He asked tentatively, a blush crept upon her cheek rapidly, her heart began to beat swiftly at his abrupt question, "N-No... why?"
"Look, let me be honest." He said, putting his fork and knife down. "What is it, Rayan?" She asked apprehensively, wondering what could it be that he is reserved to tell her.
"I know you wanted to be a housewife and have kids after marriage." He began to say.
"Yeah... but what are you trying to imply?"
"Do you know how his last relationship ended?" He asked. Licking her lips nervously, she shook her head as no, "No.."
"Promise me you won't tell anyone." He said, moving his pinky finger to her, knowing she never breaks pinky promises.
"You're scaring me, Rayan..." She whispered, looking down.
"Just Promise." He insisted, forcing down the lump in her throat of disquiet, she made a pinky promise with him, "Promise."
"He made his girlfriend waste their child. He doesn't want to have kids." He told her hurriedly. Gasping at his ridiculous words, Isra pulled her hand away from him, trying to register his inscrutable words in her mind, knitting vexation in her mind, lost in the abyss of darkness and consternation.
"W-What are you t-talking about?" She stammered, getting up and leaving with tears brimming in her eyes. "Isra." He called her, coming after her.
"I don't know if it's because it was before marriage or not but he made her do this." He told her, holding her arms and turning her to him, taking a step back and leaving them, voice coming out low and soft in the empty hallways.
"Oh my God. Why didn't you tell me before?" She said, covering her mouth with her hands, stumbling back, on the verge of crying after listening to such heartbreaking words.
"Rayan... I.. I.." She didn't know what to say and broke into a cry, "Hey, hey, please don't cry. You can talk to him about it indirectly." he whispered, trying to console her sobbing form.
"Still, how could he do such a cruel thing?" She asked between her cries.
"I think they both decided it, you please take care of yourself." He said, bringing his hand close to touch her but stopped and tried to help her, knowing it was the other way around of the story. It wasn't Emraz rather his girlfriend who didn't want it and dumped him after aborting the child.
"I don't know what to do." She cried, lowering her head, shredding heartbreaking tears but Rayan couldn't watch her falling apart,
"It's going to be okay."
"Shh. Don't cry."
"You should talk instead of making an assumption." After making things worse between them, he now acted gallantly, speaking smoothly to make her believe he was out of it and Emraz is not bad either.
"You are right." She said, stopping her cries and wiping her tears. He smiled a little while she took deep breaths to compose herself, smiling faintly at him. "Thank you." She said, moving back.
"Just keep our promise."
"I know... " She nodded.
"Take care and you can call me if you need something." He made his chance, trying to win a place in her heart.
"I know I can." She smiled, moving away. But, you never did. He thought but didn't show it's ache to her, "Thanks..."
"No problem." He waved at her and left for his cabin after pushing her in the valley of doubt and unwanted thought of anguish.
He entered and made a fist, closing his eyes, leaning on the door, mentally screaming for the turn things are going to take for the path he created himself.
What the hell are you doing, Rayan?!
Closing his eyes, he said to himself, before pretending something like this never happened. "If she came to know I was lying, I would be dead."
But he couldn't help it, this was all uncontrollable.
