40- Separation
..It was nothing but a simple confession- I love you...
"Isra please listen to me, It's not what you think, Please." Rayan ran after her, holding her arm but she pushed him away.
"What is left to listen huh? I was stupid to think you can change. You were always crazy! You were always like this! You love breaking extremes for me and you know I hated it... still you lost yourself.. ."
She snarled, pushing him away. A few tears rolled down her cheeks but she quickly wiped them.
"I couldn't control my feelings… and nothing in this world could change them. I didn't mean to crash your wedding."
He tried to reason but she hissed.
"But it's the result of your emotions! You always lose yourself!"
"That's not it, Isra please. Please.. Don't go. Isra please." he called, coming closer but she moved back.
"Don't. Don't you dare to come near me." She hissed and left, leaving him heartbroken, alone to wallow in his misery, stealing the home he finally found away.
Even falsehood but what he cherished more than his breaths was no longer his.
"Rayan. Where is Isra?" Emraz asked, rushing to his side.
"She... She left." He whispered, wiping his eyes to halt the tears rolling down his cheeks. "It's gonna be alright, don't worry she will come back."
"She won't... she would never." He said in a depressed tone, moving back. Pitting his state, Emraz couldn't do anything for his brother.
Since they can't leave things hanging, they were forced to attend the ceremony. Isra told her family she is going to stay at home.
Rayan tried to talk things out but she avoided him. She ignored his existence and put on a cold front, not talking to him as it was getting hard for Rayan to control the tears dwell in his eyes.
He was nothing without her…
Isra was in the kitchen, checking up on things but Emraz called her. "Isra."
"I don't need any justification from you about your Brother. I don't want to hear anything so leave." She hissed, glaring at him.
"It was me who chose to leave, Rayan told me he would leave the country, he was ready to leave us but I am the one who prioritized my brother. Hold a grudge against me, hate me but don't blame my Brother, please, He loves you."
He tried to tell her desperately but she snarled.
"What do you expect huh? If your brother confesses he loves your soon-to-be wife ever since childhood, you would never marry her. It was clear, your reasoning cannot clarify Rayan's action so stop justifying his action"
"Don't you think love turns a person crazy? That it makes you do things you were never supposed to do? Have you put yourself in his place, loving someone all your life and never being able to call them yours? Feelings are uncontrollable anyways." He asked sorrowfully.
"But that doesn't mean you can make the person love you back forcefully." She snarled, spitting painful facts right on his face.
"I know but giving one chance can't hurt. All he ever did was to beg for a chance which you never gave him..."
"I don't want to hear it from you. Don't bother me."
She scoffed and left, not ready to hear any reasoning as her mind was not functioning properly.
The ceremony was going, Zain and Hoorain didn't have the best expression on their faces, things were dull and worse for Rayan and Isra. Isra went to her room as Rayan came after her.
"Isra, please listen to me." He begged in a low tone so others wouldn't hear.
"I don't want to listen to anything." She hissed.
"Please, Isra. I love you so much, I can't live without you."
"That's the problem. This love of yours which turns you insane is the problem." She whispered, pointing her index finger at his chest.
"Was loving you that bad? I can't control my emotions, just like I can't expect you to love me back, you can't expect me to stop loving you, Isra." He whispered desperately, hoping deeply she might understand the state of his broken heart.
"Believe me, at this point, I am at your mercy, even as an action of compassion but please stay. You are my life, I can't live without you…"
Rayan begged, taking her hand.
Stop.
A tear pricked in her eyes as she scowled, ripping her hand off from his, replying without thinking twice, crushing his heart under her feet, "No."
For how long are you going to hurt yourself by loving me?
A tear fell directly on his cheeks, standing stunned by her lack of mercy towards his chaotic form, not even bothering to shred a single drop of compassion.
Disregarding his form, Isra walked away, not caring about him anymore.
After the function, they went home, Rayan locked himself in the room, not having enough courage to face the world anymore, falling into darkness, questioning his own existence.
"Bhai..." Hoorain called him, entering. Guilty to consider herself their culprit, only if she hadn't brought this topic up.
"I am sorry. This happened because of me." She said sadly, bending on her knees, putting her hand over his.
"This day has to come sooner or later." He sniffed, looking away. "I should have kept quiet." She mumbled sadly.
"No... She was right. I was too selfish... Love is a strange emotion, isn't it Hoorain?" He asked in a croaked voice, smiling dryly as his eyes were moist.
"I turned me into a person I never was... I never talked necessarily but when it comes to her, I tease her with no reason. I love everything she does. I still find reasons to complain so our conversation could go longer." He began to tell her.
'I began to lose control over things which dared to hurt her... My love was so much that it began to scare her... I wish the moment I saw her never existed…"
'Bhai…" Hoorain called compassionately.
'How better it would be if I never changed my school then I wouldn't have met her and never turned this way... what have she done to myself... I was never like this…"
Closing his eyes, tears began to spill without any control over them."
'I never wanted to... I.. I just wanted a chance, I swear If she couldn't love me back, I will leave her but at least give me a chance to prove myself... What faults did I have? That I loved her too much?"
His dejected voice grew into a scowl, punching the ground, gritting his teeth, hugging his sister who began to cry after seeing Rayan broken.
He hid his face in her neck, restricting his voice in suffocation, breaking him beyond repair, leading him to the point of his life where nothing but this labyrinth of devastation resides.
"Shh.. Don't cry. It's gonna be alright, Hoorain ." He whispered trying to sooth her.
"How?! Isra Bhabhi refused to come or listen, what could fix anything?" She asked, sniffing. With a cracked heart.
Rayan forced a broken smile, cupping her cheek with a whisper which left her horrified….
"Separation."
