17.2- How To Love
'And I don't want you engaging in useless matters." He tried his best to refrain himself from saying don't get too close to other male and did.
'Yes. I didn't mean to anyway." She mumbled, shrugging her shoulders, going back to her book. 'Hmm." Humming her was about to leave.
Intending hopefully to eradicate the envy brimming in his heart quickly before it affects his actions and thinking.
But before he could leave, the door knocked and Isra entered, jumping into her Brother's arm.
'Zain!" She grinned, delighted to see him but his mind was only gathered around one thought which is affecting him negatively.
'I knew I would find you here." She smirked but he remained unaffected. Showing no expressions as Hoorain looked down sadly.
'Thank you but I believe you are disturbing my class." He cleared his throat, pulling away. 'Oh, you are about to leave. It was clear." She chuckled.
'Yeah, yeah." He hummed. 'Hi Bhabi!" Hoorain grinned, waving at her. 'Hey, how are you?" Irsa asked, waving back.
'Great."
'So, what brings you here?" Zain asked.
'Me and Rayan are going on our honeymoon trip so I thought about meeting everyone else before leaving." She shrugged, taking his arm and dragging him out.
'You study, Hoorain. Sorry to disturb you, I am taking him away." Isra smiled and took Zain with her.
Greeting Everyone, Isra was with Hania, leaving Rayan and Zain alone.
They were at the rooftop and Rayan was smoking, indicating things are still stumbling on his side.
'What caused you to smoke? You have your redemption right beside you." Zain replied, leaning on the railing.
'Bro, sometimes I wonder, if what's between us is truly love or an obligation?" Rayan sighed, letting out the smoke damaging his lungs.
'What makes you think that?" Zain asked, narrowing his eyes in confusion.
'She competes with our loves as if it's competition. I say, Does it matter?" He asked out of frustration.
'Even back when she confessed, she says she measured my and her love in extent but- Leave it." He sighed, shaking his head, crushing his cigarette under his feet.
'Maybe she needs time." Zain reasoned. 'I guess you are right." He hummed, taking a peppermint and eating it.
'Can't let your sister catch me smoking, she will burn me." He chuckled, leaning on the railing as well.
Zain chuckled as a momentary silence came between them.
Meanwhile, Hoorain finished her work and was with Isra, they were talking about things and Isra asked.
'So, how are things between you two?"
At the same time, Rayan turned to Zain and asked the same question,
'Anyways, leave me, tell me, how are things between you two?"
The question vanished the smiles on their lips, replacing with a strange stir they were unable to comprehend.
'I.. don't know." Both of them gave the same reply.
'Why is that?" The couple asked, not knowing what happened to them in a month.
Hoorain, fidget her fingers around her dress, endeavoring to uphold her facade but the gloom glistening in her eyes was clear.
'Each time I see him my feelings increase but none of it matters to him and I know I cannot force him yet.." She paused with a tear pricking in her eyes.
'It hurt to see him far away from me."
Back to Rayan, Zain scowled, running his hand in his hair and replied,
'Each time I see her, Man, some eerie feelings arise in my heart but none of it matters because she thinks we are still where we started." He paused, gritting his teeth, telling the condition of his heart,
'And honestly, it hurts." He whispered, putting his hand on his chest.
'What changed?" Rayan asked, bewildered by his change.
'Can't you see we are engaged? She is not just your sister anymore to me. She is my fiancée, Rayan and that is a huge difference and I don't want to hurt her anymore. I am not that kind of man." He argued, pissed that no one is understanding him.
'So, you are saying this bond has evoked feelings in your heart." Rayan asked, arching a brow and sighing, Zain lowered his head.
'I.. truly don't know. I am not aware of what I am feeling. Was it merely an obligation or true attraction but things have changed." Zain breathed out, hoping someone might help him.
And hearing his vague explanations, Rayan asked only one question,
'Are you falling for her?" Zain let out a dry chuckle, considering it the joke of the day.
'This is impossible." Zain replied, folding his arm, smirking emptily.
But, perplexed, Rayan asked, 'Why?"
Back to Hoorain who was sharing her state of misery,
'Why don't you give yourself and this bond some time?" Isra suggested, knowing it was getting harsh on her.
'I wish I could be selfless enough to let him go and not hurt him." Hoorain sighed, biting her cheek to stop her lips from trembling.
'Zain is a responsible man, Hoorain. He adapts situations quickly and acts accordingly. As long as you are in this bond, I assure you, he will do everything he can for you." Isra asked but it increased her ache.
'That's the problem! He will give this bond a chance and then break it later, he is only fulfilling responsibilities." She argued, raising her voice which was cracking along the way. She cannot take the ache building in her chest anymore.
'Why do you say this? Why do you think Zain will never give you a chance?" Isra asked, tone softening in compassion. Tears blurred her vision, deluging her heart in sorrow.
They both were dealing with their own tribulations, trying to contemplate their conditions to move further but holding was a difficult task as well.
At the same time, Zain's chest clenched in woe, inducing a pain of realization he knows as they both replied at the same time,
'Because I don't know how to love."
'Because he doesn't know how to love."
