39.2- Chuckle
'You have no control, Mister, do you?" She asked, frowning by his hands, probing her skin but she ripped them off.
She was flushed, tensed to get caught by her in-laws but he didn't care as if he was oblivious about the existence of the world and wallowing in her presence.
'I was a twenty-eight year old warmth deprived man, what else do you expect me to do?" He asked with the same frown.
He didn't want to leave her, he had waited all his life for his partner, to hold her, endear her.
He was not wrong.
He needed affection and attention desperately from his wife, to hold his hand, be close as much as possible.
Wrapping his hand around her neck, turning to stare into his eyes.
'And you should be more intimate since you fantasized about me." Letting out a suppressed laugh after seeing her shy reaction and crimson face.
'Zain!" she whisper-yelled, pulling away from him.
If she did, that doesn't mean she will accept it openly but he knows.
'No, No, I can see. Everyone changes after marriage, you did too." He pouted, folding his arms and leaning on the counter.
'What?"
'How you used to act cutely, smile, look away shyly and now glaring at me. I should have known." He continued, lowering his head, joining his index fingers together.
'Zain-" She tried to touch but he moved back.
'No, don't touch me. I have seen the extent of your love. How quickly it ended." He continued, not looking but at her and sighing, holding her forehead, she shook her head.
'If you don't stop overacting, I will serve the cold food." She ordered, hand resting on her waist.
'Yes, Dear? Did you say something?" He asked sweetly, causing her to smile as well.
'Good. Now, come." She winked, reheating the food as he was eating.
'But, seriously though, you truly changed in just a month. More mature, I must say, more responsible too. I don't even remember seeing you whine for a long time."
He said, eating his food.
'I can't remain the same forever. And besides, I don't remember you being so talkative either." She replied sheepishly.
'That is because we never talked. I am all down for gossip, Dear. I don't know about anything else but I won't let you be bored." He chuckled, winking at her.
'Sure. Sure." She smiled.
'I am also thinking of going on our honeymoon. Where do you want to go?" He asked monotonously.
'I never went that far… I will go anywhere with you. As long as you are there, nothing else matters." She whispered, holding his free hand and kissing it.
'Don't you want to flex it to your friends?" He asked.
'I have married the man all the girls used to die for in my class. What more flexing do you think I need?" She smirked victoriously, proud only she has the right to call him hers.
'They did?" He asked, taken aback but deep down he knew.
'Of course, all the girls were crazy about you. You are the most handsome guy and now mine." Her smirked grew wider, poking his cheek.
'Yes. All yours and will be." He whispered.
'Mrs Singh used to tell me you are staring at me but I always shrug this off. I thought it was an accidental gaze. Never thought you were among those girls." He said.
'But, mine was much before." She reasoned.
'Yeah, I always forget to ask about it, when did you first fall for me anyways?" He asked what always intrigued him but he forgets.
'Back when I was sixteen-" She began to say but he couldn't believe it.
'Sixteen!?" He whisper-yelled to think she likes him when he considered her a child.
'Yes. And Azed tried to flirt with me and you came… to pick me up and saved me.. Since then, I couldn't stop thinking about you." She told him vaguely.
But his mind was trying to comprehend that fact for how long she loves him.
'Oh my God…" He breathed out, putting his hand on his chest hoping it would help the scenario to sink in.
'What?" She asked, shaking him a little.
'Huh? No, I just never thought I would be someone's deepest longing. No wonder why you are so devoted to me and single all your life." He mumbled, finishing his food.
Mind still struck to imagine who wrong they will look not now but back then when she was just sixteen and he was above twenty.
'See." She shrugged but he smiled.
'Thank you very much for everything. I guess I know why it affected you immensely when I rejected you. Sorry for that though." He said sincerely, taking her hand in his lovingly.
'Call it my stupidity, I should have accepted and respected your decision and what happened at the party was still wrong." She said, the biggest guilt which eats her up.
'I am not saying it was right either but since I don't have much experience but I think when feelings stack inside your heart they begin to manipulate you." He said what he could perceive could possibly make her do this.
'They do." She nodded, lowering her gaze sorrowfully.
'See. And you feel powerless before those emotions you hid. Some could deal with it and some didn't so what happened was emotional not stupidity." He whispered, lifting her chin, giving her a sincere smile.
'Yeah.. I guess." She hummed tentatively.
'Gosh, I feel like a philosopher, talking so deeply about feelings." He grinned, moving back.
'What deeply? We just discussed the reasoning, my mindless actions." She asked in bewilderment.
'It was not deep?" He asked in disbelief.
'No." She shook her head.
'Oh." He made an ‘o' face to think there is much more depth in understanding of emotion which he is trying to apprehend.
Exchanging glances, they stared at each other for a few seconds before breaking into a jovial chuckle before going back to their room.
