37- Lively Girl
"I shall pray they will remain like this forever," Rehman said, smiling at the couple in front of them.
"Papa, how does it look?" Isra asked cheerfully, showing her henna to her Father.
"Ah, it's so lovely!" He grinned.
"Do remind your mother to apply some as well." He winked knowing Aima doesn't spend much time on her personal grooming.
"Sure, sure." He chuckled.
"And write my name." He added sheepishly to which Rehman and Isra laughed.
"Yes, yes, I got you."
Isra went back to her place as she and Rayan began to talk while he fed her ice cream as the henna stains were still wet.
"Such a beautiful smile." He murmured, taking a strand of her hair and tugging it behind her ears.
"If seen from your perspective." She giggled, shaking her head, and then looked at the old men talking to each other before turning her attention to her husband.
"Tell me one thing, Rayan..." She began to say, her tone abruptly converting dire.
"Hmm, what is it?" He asked.
"Is there truly nothing between Zain and Hoorain? I asked Haziqa too but she refused to tell me." Her voice grew concerned but he passed an assuring smile.
"Everything is fine, my love. Zain just wants to focus on his career, that is all." He whispered, caressing her face.
"But, why is he not accepting Hoorain? She is beautiful, sweet, and considerate. Sorry to say, but she is not a rich spoiled brat like Hoor used to be." Isra mumbled.
"Hoor is a whole nother matter, she gained lessons to reach this point of solace with her beloved." Rayan sighed, not wanting to remember about her upheavals and flaws
"Hmm... I agree. I hope things go well between them." Isra said praying deeply in her heart for their betterment.
They were talking, passing time, waiting for Isra's henna to dry as their maid came to inform, "Sir, there's a guest constantly arguing to come and meet Emraz Sir."
"Who?" Rehman asked, not knowing who wanted to meet Emraz in such an emergency.
"A girl named Danica. She says she won't leave unless she sees him, she is being stubborn, creating a scene. What should we do?"
"Call her." Rehman shrugged.
"Yes." She nodded and left.
"Who wants to meet Emraz so urgently?" Rehman pondered.
"And moreover a girl," Hania added.
"Hania, go and call him, dear." He said sweetly.
"Okay." She smiled back and left to call Emraz about the woman waiting for him.
"Emraz." She called, knocking on his door.
"Yes, Mother?" He asked, opening the door.
"A girl is here to meet you... desperately." She told him quietly.
"Oh must be my debtor. Only she could cause a scene wherever she goes." He smirked playfully to himself.
"Uh, what?" She asked, tilting her head in confusion.
"Nothing, nothing. I will see her." He said with his nonchalant gallant smile, going down.
Soon Danica came, her big eyes, looking around for Emraz with sheer determination flickering in her eyes.
"Hello, Are you Emraz's friend?" Rehman asked softly.
"No." She muttered timidly.
"Then-"
"Oh, you? Miss Danica... Wasn't it? Which path strayed you here now? What-"
Emraz's candid tone came, coming down and asking about her well-being but she furiously threw her purse in his direction staggering him.
"Take your goddamned money!" She shouted. Emraz was left stunned, not knowing how to react to her outburst. But it was rather unexpected for him too. He didn't think she would become this stern and determined.
"What the-"
"Now I have returned your money, I will show you Emraz Khan I don't need others to survive."
Everyone was taken aback while she began to burst her fury on Emraz who was surprised and not reacting to her words.
"I will stand on my feet and show everyone, especially you, that I don't need protection." She continued, ignoring the glances that were sent in her direction.
All she cared about was showing Emraz that she is a capable woman.
"I will return to you when I become someone better, one I will be proud of. I will be as rich as you- No, even richer! Just. You. Watch!"
She declared proudly, closing her arms at her chest and growing breathless after bursting this all without pausing, leaving everyone except Emraz flabbergasted.
After hearing her words, a smirk moved across his sharp features, arching a brow in amusement.
"Oh?" But soon it was replaced by his radiant grin.
"Good luck with it. I will pray that you will meet your destination soon."
He grinned, encouraging her. She blushed a little at his demeanor but regained her posture and left furiously.
"You- You. Why are you like this?!" She yelled, puffing and blushing instantly when he was not affected by her words in the slightest.
Instead, he gave her a prayer.
"Like what?" Emraz asked in confusion, tilting his head, having no idea what she was talking about.
She opened her mouth to reply but closed it instantly, knowing it was futile to reply, and stomped her feet on the ground.
"Humph! I will return!"
"Good Luck!"
After she left, Emraz's smirk grew wider, laughing a little to himself, "Ah.. this ambitious girl..." He laughed to himself.
"Who was she?" Rehman asked.
"Oh, She ran away from her home so I paid her hotel bill until then she was obsessed with returning my money." He replied monotonously.
"She sure is energetic." Rayan mused.
"She is." Isra nodded in agreement.
"Ah. This woman... she never fails to fascinate me." He sighed, shaking his head.
"What?!" They all yelled at the same time.
"What?" He furrowed his brows.
"Fascinate? When did someone do it?"
"Uh... She is just different. You can tell by her entrance just now" He replied nervously and they all nodded in agreement.
"Where's Hoorain?" He asked, changing the topic and avoiding it rather.
"At University."
"I see. I will go and pick her up." Reasoning, he quickly left.
Not wanting to hear what they would say about the lively girl who entered his life in an unexpected situation.
