30- Heartbroken
They reached the lavishing party, everyone was enjoying themselves. Congratulations Rayan, spending a vigorously lively time. Isra was glued to him and he couldn't apprehend why but didn't ask either, letting the effervescent wind go with their flow but a strangeness made Isra's chest tightened.
Whenever Rayan talked to someone, she couldn't help stare at his face intently, immersing in the assertiveness, in the stern eyes softened for her. How he is serious with everyone but ended up smiling at her.
"Bhai!" Hoorain chirped, rushing to them. "Aw, you guys look amazing together." She beamed, "Thanks." Isra smiled, wrapping her arm around Rayan's. "I know." She said sweetly. "I am so glad to see you guys happy." She whispered. "Me-" Rayan was about to speak but his phone rang, "Must be Hoor, you guys talk, I will be back." Rayan smiles, leaving them alone.
"So, how's everything Hoorain? How's your preparation for exams going?" Isra asked happily but forcing a smile, she replied, "It was great. Everything is fine."
"Listen Bhabhi.. I hope you don't mind if I call you bhabhi." She trailed off nervously, "No, No, it's fine." She reassured her. "Um... Did Sir... say something to you... or even Bhai?" She asked hesitantly.
"No. None of them did. Is there anything?" She asked. "No, no, It's okay."
"Did something happen?" Irsa asked, narrowing her eyes, "No.. I was just asking. Leave it." She muttered, shaking her head, walking back and leaving her alone in her perplexity.
Things went normal but Hoorain also left her alone and she stood there alone. Rayan was also absent and she didn't know what to do. Sighing deeply, she walked around, trying to find someone she knew until she stumbled upon Emraz. "Ah, Sorry." She apologized quickly and it was him.
"No, It's fine. I should have watched it." Emraz replied, looking in the other direction. "Did you see a girl with black hair with red highlights around?" He asked, looking around. "No, Why are you asking?" She asked in confusion. "No, nothing. Leave it." He sighed, considering it a deception of his eyes, turning his head back to her,
"Congrats," he said with a gallant smile. "Tell this to your Brother." She muttered. "You still didn't understand what I said." He chuckled dryly. "I don't even want to and you know what I want you to understand?" She stopped turning to him, pointing her finger at him in contempt,
"I will never forgive you for leaving me right in the end..."
"You have all the right to do it." His smile grew wider, accepting her hostility happily. "But don't take my resentment on my Brother." He added sincerely. "You don't have to tell me." She muttered, making a sour face.
Hissing, she walked away furiously and went to the bathroom to clear her mind from all the agonizing thoughts building in her mind.
It was a tale of yesterday, Isra. Leave it behind. Mentally bracing herself, she walked out to find Rayan. Without him, she was feeling awkward. When she walked out and saw Farhan, leaning on the wall with his arms closed at his chest, smirking at her, flirting, "Well Rayan surely found a gem."
Rolling her eyes she was about to walk away from the empty corridor but he held her wrist, "How much did you take to leave one Brother from the other, huh?" He mocked, coming closer. Isra gasped at his words and was about to slap him but he held both of her wrist, "What the hell do you want? Let me go!" Snarling, she slammed her heels on his foot and was about to walk away but he grabbed her arm, twisting it backward.
"It wasn't about the rejection, Isra. It's about the lie. You came to my house and declared Rayan as your boyfriend, later got engaged to Emraz and married Rayan. What kind of woman are you huh? How could you do this? I had so much respect for you but you turned out to be a harlot." He growled in her ears, constricting her heart at his impudent comment.
"Let me go, Farhan! You have lost your mind. Stop making assumptions about something you don't know." She hissed.
"What do I miss? I wasn't wrong either. You are an attention seeker, a low-level girl." He hissed back, irked by his statements she was about to push him away but a strong punch came from the other direction, startling Isra. "How dare you hurt her!?" Rayan came, scowling and hitting him again.
"Rayan." Isra's breath hitched, taking a step back. Her eyes widened , recurring the frightened memory she was trying to bury.
"How dare you hurt her!?" A tear rolled down her cheek, remembering the same sight.
Rayan pushed him down, punching him again and again, "How dare you touch her!"
"How dare you touch her!" Another flashback with another dread and tear.
"Stop it, Rayan... Please... " Isra whispered, trembling violently by the ferocity burning in his eyes. "Not again, please." Swallowing hard, she tried holding him back. "Rayan stop..."
"No, he dared to hurt you!" He hissed. Farhan's face was bloodied and Isra was petrified yelled what halted his actions, shouting what she didn't want to but to stop him before his loses his mind, she had to,
"That's exactly why I never want to start a relationship with you!" Rayan stopped immediately when his heart clenched terribly, coming back to his senses and turning to her, "What...?" he asked, horrified. "Yes." Rayan stilled, she pushed him away from Farhan who ran away as it has become important to make Rayan aware of his extent. Rayan remained immobilized and she began to cry, "I hate you all this time because of this extremity!" She shouted.
"You.. you can never change, this behavior of yours scares me.. It always did, your actions, the boundaries of how you lose your mind frightens me. You frighten me, Rayan and I cannot bear it. I couldn't. And.. and you repeated what you did five years ago, what the hell is wrong with you?! Why do you forget limits when things come to me?! I know how to protect myself, I didn't need to beat the shit out of that guy, this violence residing in you scared me badly! Why do you love me this much to break limits!? Why has this emotion turned you like this?! Why do you become blindly feral, Rayan!? Why do you do this?" She began to cry, trying to halt her tears but they spilled uncontrollably while he kept looking down, knowing his love forces him to do what he never intends.
"I just don't want to see your face. Giving you a chance is impossible because I know what you can do and that's why I never did. I could never forget that you have almost killed someone for my sake and your passion scares me! I could never fall for you because you terrify me the most, Rayan. I am terrified of you and this reason will be our gap... I can't do this..." She whispered, holding the hem of her dress, not lifting her head, the sound of her cries echoed in the empty hall but her heart felt detached, afraid.
"You have done enough, get the hell out of my sight. I don't want to see your face. I don't have enough strength to face you. You are always beyond my control. Just leave." By her breathless, furious and desperate outburst tears brimming in his eyes, hugging herself, she couldn't meet his forlorn form heartbroken after hearing everything.
"Please... leave" She whispered, infuriated at him and more at herself for being unable to control his passion knowing she can but always chooses pain to grasp it.
Rayan lifted his heavy gaze from the ground to hers, staring at it for a long time as a tear fell on his cheek, parting his lips to speak something but knowing all of it was meaningless.
...With the moist and heaviness of her agonizing words in his heart, Rayan walked away... heartbroken...
