26- Unbounded Misery
Sighing at his demeanor, "There you go." He hummed. "What the hell exactly happened?" She asked worriedly, glancing over the door at Rayan, the tension on her face was clear but Zain didn't know how to react. "
"Nothing. I gotta go now." Zain shook his head and was about to leave. "So early?"
"Yeah, you just take care of yourself." He smiled, patting her head, "Okay." Zain was about to leave but stopped, he knew it was a distant memory and if she wanted she would have told him long ago yet he wants to know, "Isra."
"Hmm?"
"Did something happen between you and Rayan?" He asked before leaving. "No." She replied innocently but her heart began to thump loudly, tensed if Rayan had told him anything or not, "From the past?" He asked sternly. Her hands turned cold. Did Rayan tell him? She thought apprehensively but smiled nervously and shook her head as no again. "Is there something?" She asked. "Rayan told me he liked you back in college." He told her coldly. "Yeah but I rejected him." She replied hurriedly, "When you knew he liked you back then why did you even agree to marry Emraz Bhai?" Zain asked in a low hiss, furious at his sister.
Fidgeting her fingers, she told him, "I.. I thought he moved on. He.. had Sateesha with him.. I thought he no longer feels that way for me... And since he moved on.. I thought I should as well." She whispered, hugging her eyes, tears blurring her vision but Zain took a step closer, "What do you mean by you should as well, Isra? When you didn't feel the same, why did it affect you in the first place?" Zain asked, enraged. "I didn't mean it like this.. It's-" She tried to speak nervously but no words came out and Zain asked, "Don't tell you agreed to marry Emraz Bhai just to-" Zain was about to ask in disappointment but she gasped, shaking her head, "No! T-That's not it." She shook her head innocently.
"I hope so." He hummed, turning to leave, strictly while she kept looking down. "Did...Rayan say something?" She asked apprehensively. "Nothing." He replied instantly. "I see."
"I should leave now. Take care." He said but glanced at her over his shoulder for a second, "If possible for you, Isra, do try to give Rayan a chance. You know what he feels for you." He told her softly and left with a bye. "If it was this easy for me, I would have done it a long time ago..." She whispered, twirling her fingers around her dress.
After Zain left, Isra took a deep breath, clearing her mind and went to Rayan's room and saw him lying on the bed, face hidden between the pillows, sympathizing his form, she walked closer, sitting in the corner, "Rayan..." No response came, her tone grew softer, narrowing her eyes in pity. I am so sorry. She thought, "Rayan.. not even gonna look at me?" She asked with faint smile but he remained motionless and she knew it was futile but-
No matter how much 'she' ignores him, it is fine but if 'he' does it- it hurts her immensely.
She sighed at his lack of response was about to take off his shoes but he pulled his foot away, turning to her again, crawling back with a glare,
"Don't touch me! I know it must repulse you!" He shouted. Startled, she got up, holding the hem of her dress, looking at him with a crying face. "I know you hate touching me, you hate it when I get close to you. What are you trying to show by this care huh? We both know this means nothing to you!" He yelled furiously at her, cracking her heart with his rage.
"What? No." She spoke softly, standing in front of him, her lips were quivering as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Don't lie." He snarled, getting up and grabbing her arms, making her wince, "You know it whenever I try to come closer you push me away, you never wanted to be with me. Whether I die or live never mattered so stop showing me this damn facade." He growled, tightening his grip on her arm, with tears gleaming on her face, she shook her head, "No... that's not it, Rayan. Believe me." She whispered desperately but he pulled her closer.
"Who are you planning to deceive by your words huh? Don't I know you are afraid of my love?" He whispered, outraged in his voice, frightened her to no extent, shaking her head in denial. "Rayan-" She tried to speak but he pressed his lower body with hers, the blazing fire in his eyes was warning her to not speak further, "Shh. Don't you dare to break my heart more than you already did." He hissed, pushing her away.
"What do you think of me? A toy for you to take your inner hatred? A punching bag you can hit whenever you like with your harsh words? Shattering my heart, my feelings over and over again, hating me for no reason." He snarled, running his hand in his hairs, making them messy, growling to himself but she kept looking down, unable to lift her head in lamentation.
"I was ready to do whatever it takes to save this bond, to be a better man for you but no you are not ready to accept me. What is wrong with me huh? Why are you so afraid of my love? What wrong did I do to you? NOTHING! THEN WHY ISRA?! WHY!?" He yelled at her, a tear of anguish rolled down their cheeks simultaneously, unable to bear it anymore. She ended up crying, tears streamed down her face.
"Oh, now it's hurting?" He snickered, coming closer, smirking at her tears, leaning dangerously closer to her teary face, he growled in a low tone, "Think what I feel what you speak whatever you want without thinking about my fragile heart, ravaging me like goddamn loop and powerless before my love I had to swallow every words and smile. Did it satisfy you? It's not fun now when I am doing it, hmm?" He mocked, shutting her eyes, she was convulsing badly, having no idea she cracked him this badly, the sob of guilty left her lips, crying under the weight knowing how it feels.
"I am sorry... I had no idea... I-" She tried to speak but cut her off, "No idea!? Don't lie, you knew it was hurting me. You knew your every word, every action was killing me from inside yet you did this." He whispered wrathfully, holding her jaws, the moist in his eyes suppressing her voice, invoking immeasurable grief of what she has done to him.
He was fuming with rage, running his hand in his hairs, barely controlling his rage as the sound of her sobs were echoing in the room, submerging him in gloom because under all circumstances, she is still the Isra he loves from the bottom of his heart and her cries hurt him.
"Why are you crying? Do you think these tears could vanquish my ache?" He mocked with a dry chuckle. "Leave." He ordered, wiping his eyes, glaring at her coldly. "Rayan, listen, please-" She tried to reason but what will she say? That she fears his love? The love willing to fight the world for her sake- humiliating his love too?
"Rayan, I am sorry, I-" She tried to come closer, trying to hold his arm but he yanked her hand away, "I won't bother you again by my worthless feelings. You are free to live your life the way you want." He said harshly, her eyes widened in disbelief, hurting badly after hearing this from all people, him. "I won't do it ag-" She whispered, trying to make him listen but he glared at her
"Didn't you hear me? Leave!" He shouted, motioning her to leave, lowering her head, she sniffled, wiping her eyes.
Giving him a painful look but he looked away and left with no choice, she left him all alone in his unbounded misery.
