Chapter 017
After what happened in the park yesterday, I went home and never went back to the university. Because of that, Michelle was angry at me. They said they were waiting for me to come back.
I'm thankful for Tine's suggestion, he's kind and reliable.
Now it's Friday, I'm going to university and this day, the start of the game. The results of the audition will be released later because it ended late yesterday.
I parked my car when I got to the university. As usual, there were a lot of people. It turned out to be a big university event. I wish I hadn't come here.
Michelle texted me, she said that I went straight to the field and so I followed. And every time I passed by, they were busy making banners. I just shook my head, it's useless if the one they idolize doesn't appreciate it.
I finally arrived on the field, there were already a lot of people waiting for the game to start. I also looked for Michelle, but I couldn't find them. My phone vibrated, and my beautiful friend texted me again.
From: Michelle
Vienna my friend, we will just buy drinks huh? just go to Tine first. He seems to have been waiting for you for a while.
This is what I'm thinking, that's why I don't want to watch the game. Those two are dead if they do something silly to me.
"VIENNA!"
I looked at the person who shouted my name, it was my brother. He was already wearing a jersey and ready for the game. I reached their direction and I also saw Tine silently sitting.
"You just arrived?" my brother asked and I nodded in response. I looked at the player next to them, it was Sebastian's team.
Aren't they scared? They compete against the defending champion.
"Whose team will you support Vienna? Your brother or Sebastian?" Laurence asked, I didn't answer him right away.
"I'm just here to watch the game, I'm not going to support anyone," I replied. I don't want to be biased, I support both teams and not just one team.
"Ouch! That hurts Vienna, not really?" Ian asked dramatically. I just rolled my eyes.
"Don't mind my sister, just let her decide," my brother interrupted. They all stopped as well.
"Anyways, we're going to win this game, we're going to take down Sebastian's team," Tyler said making me frown. They seem to be planning something bad on Sebastian's team.
"Don't mind what Tyler said. Hey bro, don't scare Vienna. Can you just focus on the game?" Tine replied in a serious tone. Tyler fell silent but how did he know I was scared? Is it obvious from my face?
After about 10 minutes, a referee on the field whistled, signaling that the game would begin. I looked in Sebastian's direction, he immediately stood up and so did Britt. I was surprised when he suddenly looked at me. I thought he would avoid my eyes but he didn't. I just mouthed "Good luck" and I smiled at him but he immediately averted his eyes. What else can I expect from him?
"Vienna, are you okay?" Tine asked when his teammates left and went to the field.
"Yeah, it's okay. Um.. your fans are all cheering for you, aren't you doing anything?" He looked away but it didn't take long.
"Just let them, they will stop. And, I can't play," he replied. He and Sebastian are the same, they don't care about their fans. But I immediately looked at his knee, it was fine and he didn't put on a band-aid.
What can I do? That's what the nurse told me. What if he gets injured again?
"If you want to play, it's okay Tine," I said and he immediately turned to me.
"But be careful, when you are injured again, I will not help you," I added. He smiled at what I said and suddenly looked away.
What was that? Did he blush?
Michelle and Therese arrived, I thought she was just lying. They brought drinks and they also gave Tine and me.
"It's a good thing, the game hasn't started yet," Therese said as she sat down next to me, as did Michelle. So I became even much closer to Tine and they both just smiled. They're annoying!
"Sad, you can't play, Tine," Michelle said sadly.
"I'll substitute later. Vienna allowed me to play." After what he said, the two looked at me with mixed teasing.
The game has already started and the ball is on Sebastian's team. I'm not into sports but I watch soccer. The fans were all shouting and screaming, especially Sebastian's fan club. It can't be denied that he is good at playing as well as Britt and Enzo but they can't match how good my brother is in the game. Brother Vince has been a varsity player for 4 years and his team gave the honor to the soccer game here at the university. It's not that I'm negative, but now I know who will win.
It's been 35 minutes but both teams still don't score even though all the players are good.
There was a time-out and all the players returned to their seats.
"Tine, we're just there, come on Therese," I said as I get up. Tine was surprised but I couldn't wait for him to answer. We left immediately before my brother could return.
"Vienna, why did we leave there?" Michelle asked as we sat down in a bleacher that was also close to Tine's seat.
"They've been looking at us since the game started, haven't you noticed? They will think something about us," I replied.
"And so? We are free from everything, we make our own decisions. Where is the democracy if they just stop us from doing what we want to do?" Michelle's political perspective exists again and it's annoying. I didn't answer her and I just watched the game again. Sebastian's team has the ball again, I don't know but I seem nervous.
"What's the matter? There's still no score and it's taking so long," Therese complained.
There was an immediate substitution. Tine came in and he replaced Ian, the same thing happened to Sebastian's team.
"Did I think Tine couldn't play yet? He's injured, right? Why did you agree?" Therese asked.
"I just feel sorry for him, he came here to play not just to sit and watch," I replied.
"That's fine, make sure Tine will be careful. He's only afraid of you if he's injured again," Michelle said while patting my shoulder.
The surroundings became louder when Tine was on the field. His fans were all shouting but he just ignored it and just focused on the game.
But after a minute, the surroundings became silent and surprised everyone especially me. Sebastian suddenly rolled on the grass. He was going to hit the ball but Brother Vince stopped him and he kicked Sebastian's leg. He writhes in pain as he grips his leg. Suddenly the game stopped and Sebastian was immediately supported by his team but he was unable to step on his feet.
"My brother didn't mean that, did he?" I asked while looking at Sebastian.
"It was just an accident Vienna, your brother doesn't play dirty on the game and you know that," Michelle replied.
Sebastian's fans were worried, they stopped cheering and almost all of them fell silent because of what happened.
There was another set of games, it's already over time but still, no one scored. Tine can run and kick well, it's just that still nervous because he might be injured again.
After 1 hour, the game was over and my guess was right, Engineering won. I was happy with the result of the game but I couldn't stop myself from worrying and thinking about Sebastian.
What could have happened to him? Is he okay? Geez.. why do I suddenly feel this? I'm not that concerned about people I've just met. But I'm worried, they already lost and he was injured. But I'm praying and hoping that he will be fine.
