Chapter 068
"I know that you want to perform in public, it was your dream for a long time but you can do it without him. But what I see in you now, you want him to sing with you that's why you were surprised by what Brother Dim said. Vienna, I'm your best friend, I know you. I can't tell you directly because I want you to admit it to us. How you look at him and how you look at Tine, it's very different. I sense it, Vienna, I'm not blind."
I can't admit to myself that I like Sebastian, I'm confused by how I feel. I couldn't admit to her the truth because I didn't want to regret it later. I don't want to utter a word until I'm sure of how I feel.
"I think I know the answer and you don't need to tell me. Just admit it to yourself early, okay? If you already know, tell Tine. Talk to him about how you feel before he hopes and gets hurt. We're just here if you need our help."
I hugged Michelle, everything that she said entered my mind. It was like a warning to me but I'm hoping that I will know how and what I feel. I don't want that the two of them will get hurt, I won't allow it.
SEBASTIAN'S POV
I and Dad arrived at the hospital, we also went inside immediately after he parked the car. I'm nervous, I'm sure Vienna's mom and brother are here. They didn't know that Dad and I were going, because we didn't plan to let them know. But this is the day I have been waiting for, our paths will meet.
"Good morning nurse, may I ask what is Vienna Malvar's room number?" Dad asked a nurse at the counter.
"Good morning sir, I'll check it for a while," she replied. Then there was she looked something at in a log book and on the computer in front of her.
"Are you related to the patient, sir?" the nurse asked. Dad and I looked at each other because of her question.
"She's my son's girlfriend," Dad replied to my surprise.
"Room number 15 sir, just go straight then turn to the left side. The first room you will see, that's Ms. Vienna's room," said the nurse as she pointed us the way.
"Thank you, come on, son." I followed Dad but the nurse's smile didn't escape my sight.
My whole body was shaking, I tried to calm down but I couldn't.
"I'm on your side, don't worry," Dad said when he noticed that I feel uncomfortable.
We also followed what the nurse said, we turned to the left side of the hospital. And I have already seen a woman. She's unchanged, who remained beautiful and simple even though I hadn't seen her for three years. Vienna's mom, Aunt Venice with the unfamiliar man in my sight. I knew before that Uncle Rey and Aunt Venice were separated, Vienna told me that when we were in high school. Vienna lives with her dad for 2 weeks and also 2 weeks with her mom every month.
They still didn't notice my and my dad's presence even though we were only a few steps away from them. They were busy drinking coffee but someone suddenly came out the door, Michelle and Therese. They were both surprised by me and Dad's presence, I think they didn't expect us to visit here.
"Uncle Kristopher," Therese said. The two of them met, her mom was my dad's classmate when they were in college. Then they turned their attention to us but Aunt Venice stood up immediately when she saw us. I looked at her without emotion and she looked at us both who obviously couldn't believe that we were here and facing her.
"Long time no see Venice, you haven't changed," Dad breaks the silence. She seemed uneasy from where she stood. You can already see the worry and fear in her eyes.
"Hi Kristopher .. you surprised me, you didn't even tell me you were going to visit here with your son." Even in the tone of her voice--she was nervous.
"I'm sorry for that Venice and I don't have your number that's why I didn't tell you." She couldn't answer right away and was forced to smile in front of Dad.
"By the way, I would like you to meet Lucas Montemayor my fiancée and we're getting married by the end of October," she introduced the man next to her who I think they're the same age. Did Vienna agree to their marriage?
"I see, nice to meet you, Lucas. I'm Kristopher Ruiz Angeles and he's my son, Sebastian Martin Ruiz Angeles," Dad also introduced. He shook hands with the man in front of him but I didn't.
"Nice to meet you too Kristopher, by the way, Vienna is resting inside and I don't think you can talk to her yet. Just wait for her to wake up, that's what her doctor told us," he replied.
"Sure, we can wait. There's still time for us to talk, for sure you'll tell us a lot Venice." I know what Dad wants to convey to Aunt Venice, he also wants to know everything.
We sat in the chair in front of them but I was looking at the door where Vienna was inside. I want to see her, I want to know how she is and if she is still in pain. I'm sorry for what I did, I shouldn't have pushed her and I wish I just left. And I wish I didn't hurt her, I wish she's not here now and she's at university with me.
I know that Aunt Venice was just looking at me, she didn't join the conversation between Dad and Mr. Montemayor. She still can't believe that she will see me here after they disappeared 3 years ago.
"Mom." The three of them turned around at the two people who came but I didn't bother to look back. I know it's Vince's voice and Tine is with him.
"Vince, how are you? You don't have class?" Dad casually said. But Vince didn't answer right away, I know he was also surprised by our presence here.
"Why are you here? My sister was hospitalized because of your son. You have still the guts to visit here, Sebastian."
I didn't look at him and I just kept quiet. But suddenly he pulled me and grabbed my collars. Tine and his mom stopped him but he didn't stop.
"Vince, calm down, not now, okay? Please I'm begging you." Then he let me go because of what his mom said.
Isn't he afraid that once his sister finds out about me?
'All right Vince, be brave now because that won't last long either. That courage of yours will be lost when Vienna finds out everything.'
"Excuse me, Uncle Kristopher, Vienna has woken up, you can come in," said Therese who had just left the room.
"Dad, you can go first, I'll go next," I said.
"We need to talk Sebastian," Aunt Venice said suddenly.
She looked at me seriously, but I looked at her without emotion. I've stepped away from them, and I think I'll know everything.
