Chapter 079
"Are you going to tell Vince about the title of the house?" Tine asked when we got to the second floor. Mang Eduardo was no longer with us, he just showed me where my room was.
"He needs to know, I don't want to keep it a secret from him either," I answered.
"Don't you really want to live here with your brother?"
"I'm not sure if my brother still wants to live in this house. After our parents got divorced, he went to live with Uncle Francis. But I will try to ask him, if he wants to live here then we will move after the wedding of my mom and Uncle Lucas."
"I'll convince him, don't worry. But I'm sure, your brother already misses this house of yours."
I sighed afterward, I'm not sure about what he said. Mang Eduardo told me earlier, he said that my brother used to go here. He said he took something and then left immediately and after that, my brother never came here again. I feel that he is avoiding something in this house that's why he has never been able to come back here. Whatever it is, I wish I knew.
"How long is this hallway, about a few more steps to your room?" Tine complained. I suddenly laughed because of what he said but he was right about the length of the hallway we are walking now.
"1000, why? Are you giving up? If you're tired, you'll just go downstairs," I replied, making him laugh.
Just now I was rude like this again, because ever since he courted me, I don't scold him anymore so I just miss these kinds of conversations between Tine and I.
We've been walking for about 5 minutes but we still haven't reached my room. It is said to be at the far end of the second floor. We can only see the wall now, but it's beautiful to look at because of the paintings that are hanging on it. It's like an art gallery and not a house. This is a three-story house, downstairs you will find the kitchen, dining area, maid's quarters, and living room. While here on the second floor, there are six rooms and three of them are guest rooms. The third floor is said to be where Dad's office is located, a game room where my brother used to hang out, a mini-studio, a library, a storage room, and two guest rooms. And behind this house, there is a large swimming pool and a wide garden. I feel like I want to live here but it's not possible yet.
After five minutes of walking, I and Tine finally reached the room. I slowly opened the door and a large and beautiful room was revealed to the two of us. It's a kind of bohemian style, from its aesthetic colors, decorations, walls, eclectic patterns, and textures. All I can say is, it's so beautiful. It's bigger and better than my room at uncle Lucas's house.
"You have a big and beautiful room, Vienna. Do you even remember this before?" Tine said. I just shook my head in response.
"I don't remember anything, I don't even remember who designed it," I replied. I looked around the whole room and couldn't stop being amazed by its beauty.
I never imagined that a young Vienna's before had this kind of huge and beautiful room. Did I spoil it then? Do I get everything I want so I have such a beautiful room? But who designed this? Is it Dad? But I don't have a single family picture to see and the only thing I can see is the pictures of me and Dad before. Even pictures of me and my mom or my brother, there really aren't any, but why? How many years have I left this house? It's hard, I don't remember a single thing here.
"I only met your dad once before," said Tine. I looked at him, he was holding a photo now but I was surprised by what he said.
"Why? You're my brother's best friend, aren't you? Then you told me, you always come to the house." He returned it to its original place before he looked at me and approached me.
"I always come to your house but I don't see your dad, only your mom. I only met him on your brother's 13th birthday. And even though that was the first time we met, I still remember his face up to this day. And you know what, you got all his physical features, you look just like him and you inherited on him."
He's right, that's why I sometimes think that I was formed by compulsion. Because I don't even have a single inheritance or resemblance to mom. So every time we faced each other and I stared at her face, I couldn't stop thinking "Is she really my mother?"
"But until now, I'm still wondering why I didn't even meet you before. I only saw you in the photo and not in person," he added. But I just kept quiet and held my breath. I don't know what to answer him.
"Ma'am Vienna.." I turned around when I heard Mang Eduardo's voice. He was outside the room with a box.
"I'll help you, Mang Eduardo," said Tine and approached the old man to help him.
"Thank you, Mang Eduardo," I smiled in gratitude.
"There's nothing ma'am, just call me if you need anything else," he replied with a smile. I nodded in response and he left the room.
He mentioned earlier that all my toys and things were donated to the orphanage but he said that dad separated some important things that he knew I would look for.
'I hope this is it.'
I'm nervous, but I have to do it for myself.
"Tine.. just wait for me downstairs," I said but I was just looking at the box.
"But.. Vienna.."
"Tine, it's okay, I can do it." I want him to be here but he doesn't need to know what's in the box. When the stuff in it is all about Martin, I'm just going to hurt him.
"I don't want to leave you here, maybe when you find out what's in that box you'll collapse here while I'm gone," he said worriedly.
"I understand that you're just worried about me, but please, even, for now, let me deal with this alone first. I'm fine Tine, don't worry," I said before hugging him tightly. He didn't do anything but follow what I said.
After he left the room, I immediately took the cutter and slowly opened the box. When I finally opened it, I sighed before looking at what was inside.
