Chapter 12: Grace Got Bullied
Following his gaze, Daniel also took a look and indeed saw the little girl they had encountered yesterday. He furrowed his brows slightly.
At this moment, Grace was also looking at them, clapping along with the other kids. When she noticed them looking at her, a subtle excitement flashed in her shiny eyes. She hadn't expected to meet the two boys here. Although they had only met once, she unconsciously liked these two and couldn't explain why.
However, as she stared at them, Daniel and Leo had already withdrawn their gaze.
"All right, you two go sit down. There are two empty seats over there. Is it okay if you sit together?" The teacher pointed to the two empty seats next to Grace.
Daniel and Leo hesitated for a moment but didn't say anything. They nodded obediently and went to sit down.
Watching the two boys walk over to her, Grace's eyes lit up, eagerly looking at them. However, even though they were sitting right beside her, it seemed like they didn't recognize her, not even offering a greeting. Seeing this, Grace silently lowered her gaze, playing with her fingers in disappointment.
In fact, the two little ones had been paying attention to Grace's reaction all along. Witnessing her disappointed expression, they felt a bit guilty in their hearts.
"Daddy doesn't want us, he had another child with someone else, and he bullies Mommy. She's Daddy's bad child, and we can't talk to her, or it would be unfair to Mommy!" Daniel tightened his little fists, unsure if he was consoling himself or advising his younger brother.
Hearing his brother's words, Leo nodded seriously, "Right, we can't talk to her!"
So, the two little ones sat upright throughout the entire class, not casting a glance toward Grace.
Feeling ignored by them, Grace didn't dare to sneak another look at them.
After class, many little girls gathered around the two boys, complimenting them and even giving them toys. Leo was lively and cheerful, laughing and playing with everyone. Daniel was polite, composed, and friendly.
On the sidelines, Grace, seeing the two boys smiling, gathered the courage to go over and greet them. However, a group of kids circled around, even pushing her out of her seat.
One little girl even scowled, pushed her away, and said, "Little mute, go away! Why are you squeezing in? You can't even talk. Don't come here to join in the fun!"
Caught off guard, Grace, pushed off balance, fell backward. The people behind her all moved away, and not a single person reached out to help her.
In the confusion, Grace tried to reach for a nearby desk but missed, ending up falling. Her tender little hand hit the corner of the table hard.
It hurt...
Grace sat on the ground, her eyes red, and her small eyebrows slightly furrowed.
The classmates around just watched, and even a few girls smirked.
Usually, Grace behaved quite aloof, and coupled with her inability to speak, few people befriended her. However, she looked like a little doll. Although not favored by the girls, quite a few boys liked to tease her. They were good at taking care of her, treating her like a little princess.
In normal circumstances, those lively boys became well-behaved in front of her, and the girls naturally looked at her unfavorably. Especially Mia, who had just pushed her, seemed to seize the opportunity to bully her.
