Chapter 45: Don't Want to Meet Him Anymore
With her best friend having taken care of her children for the past two days, Chloe, after finishing her work in the morning, took the opportunity to go to the Quilliam family in the afternoon. She thought she could pick up her two little ones herself in the evening.
Upon arriving at the Quilliam family, she checked Jasper's condition and confirmed there were no unexpected issues. She continued with the treatment process, administering acupuncture to him.
During the wait for the acupuncture to take effect, Felix entered with a document in hand. "Dr. Stanhope, this is the prepared contract. Take a look. If everything is fine, you can sign it."
This was what they agreed on the previous night. Chloe wasn't surprised and took the document, carefully reviewing it before signing her name.
After signing the contract, Felix's attitude toward her became even more amicable. "From now on, we are in a business partnership. Anway, please pay more attention to my grandfather's condition."
Chloe nodded, "It's what I should do."
They chatted for a while, and when it was time, Chloe took out the needles from Jasper.
Although she tried to manage her time as much as possible, by the time she finished packing up, it was already past the kindergarten's dismissal time. She hurriedly excused herself and drove to the kindergarten to pick up her two little ones. Today, she didn't inform them that she would be late, and she didn't know if the two little ones would be worried.
When Chloe arrived at the kindergarten, it was almost empty, and most of the children had left. She looked around and finally spotted the two little figures on the playground's small chairs. However, she didn't see any accompanying teachers. She walked quickly towards them.
"Mommy!" Seeing her, the two little ones ran happily towards her.
Chloe hugged one in each arm, touched their little faces, and crouched down, saying, "Mommy's work got a bit busy, and I accidentally missed the time. I'm sorry."
Understandingly, Daniel shook his head, "It's okay. We were just waiting at the kindergarten, and the teacher was with us. Mommy, don't worry."
Leo nodded.
Upon hearing this, Chloe looked at them in confusion, "Is there a teacher with you?"
Daniel pointed to the corner of the playground. Following his direction, Chloe saw another slide there, and a teacher was crouched, chatting warmly with a little girl."
The little girl was wearing a cute kindergarten uniform, her two hands somewhat restrained on her knees, sitting very upright. Her eyes were fixed on them, somewhat eagerly.
Once Chloe saw the little girl's face clearly, she was suddenly stunned. If she didn't recognize her wrongly, this clearly was Quintus's daughter. Was she also attending this kindergarten?
Grace had initially been staring at Daniel and Leo, but suddenly, upon seeing Chloe, her eyes lit up. When Chloe looked at her, she happily lifted the corners of her mouth, ready to greet.
The next moment, Chloe withdrew her gaze. Grace's mouth corners drooped again, looking at them somewhat pitifully. Even though Chloe had just recognized her, Grace thought that she was ignored.
"Mommy, what's wrong with you? Was work tough today?" Daniel, noticing his Mommy's absentmindedness, shook her finger in a caring manner.
Chloe snapped back to reality, smiled and said, "No."
Upon hearing this, Leo joyfully tightened his grip on her hand and exclaimed, "Then let's go home!"
