Chapter # 32
SOMEWHERE ELSE,
"Hah, couldn't you find me? Tsk, tsk, tsk, so bad,"
A certain brown eyed man was sniggering, pushing his hair behind, accompanied by an impish smirk.
The news was surely fatal but the fact it served as a scar on the man's ego was highly amusing for him.
It delighted him, it pleased him. In fact, that was what he wanted.
"What should we do about Zaviyaar? To have India, he is wildly searching for you," His assistant, Bashar, asked casually.
"He will search for me in the middle east, as long as I am not there, I am safe,"
Zoran waved his hand, gesturing to be relaxed while setting his collar to hide the mark on his neck, wearing a high neck and allowing his long hair to cover it up.
"And what about Elton? What should we do about him?" Bashar asked again.
"Call him, he has proven to be a beneficial asset. I still cannot believe he managed to escape from him," He chuckled, trusting Elton's capabilities for managing to leave.
He was trained under Nathaniel himself after all, he knew how to slip from the cops and Nathaniel himself.
"I must praise your skills."
"Hmm?"
"Elton was blindly loyal to him yet you managed to lure him into betraying,"
Bashar praised Zoran, they were convinced that his precious ones would never deceive but to think Elton did was highly amusing.
"He is a dumb man, so convincing him was easy."
Zoran laughed a little, getting ready to leave somewhere, combing his hair.
"Just said Nathaniel pushed him away, considered him inferior and he lost it, truly a child," He snickered, belittling Elton's emotion.
To Nathaniel, he only intended to shelter his innocence, keep him secure from the violence of this life yet he jumped right into it.
"He did this to protect Elton though, from this life, for his better future and move on from Alice," Bashar trailed off, knowing he was desperate too.
"When Elton failed to be placed right beside him, he chose the wrong path."
"I know and I used this in my favor against him," Zoran nodded, taking a bag to leave his apartment.
"So what now?"
"Hmm?"
Stopping in his tracks, he glanced from his shoulder to Bashar who held a stern expression.
"What about your father?"
Zoran's jaw clenched at the mention of it.
"He is recaptured and as long as you are into hiding, he would take this wrath on your father,"
Disheartened for being powerless and ended up sighing, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Bashar,"
"Yes?"
"There is nothing I could do about it anymore. There is so escape from that dangerous worshiper,"
"What... Do you mean?"
He was taken aback to find him accepting the fate of his father.
Lowering his gaze grievously, he announced the best outcome for his father.
"At this point, the only redemption left for my father... Is death."
Without speaking further, he grabbed his things and left with a determined aim.
'Don't worry Father, Mother, Delisha, your deaths won't be in vain. He will pay for it...'
AMSTERDAM
"Any order for me, Boss?"
Mark asked when they were alone in the corridor during work, sharing a cup of coffee.
They knew exchanging information here could be risky but wrath had taken over him.
"Find Zoran, I want that man captured at all costs." He ordered strictly, taking a sip of his coffee.
He had discarded everything solely on teaching him a lesson.
As long as he couldn't find Zoran, he won't be at peace so he must pinpoint him from hell.
Mark knew his disappearance was Nathaniel's highest provocation yet.
"I swear, I won't breathe properly until I find him,"
When Nathaniel growled, the cardiologist who was minding his business stopped in his tracks.
"Hmm?"
Furrowing his brows, he peeked only to find the 'mute and peaceful' man of his workplace there with a scowl.
"Nathaniel?"
"Keith?"
"Find who? Sorry, I was just passing by and heard you say you won't breathe properly so I got curious."
With a nervous chuckle, he scratched the back of his neck, intrigued to hear further about it too.
"Who is it, if you don't mind telling me?" He asked again, joining the conversation.
"My girlfriend's ex. He is a toxic man, causing her troubles."
Nathaniel replied nonchalantly while drinking his coffee, acting proficiently.
"Are you going to beat him?" He asked, mouth gaping at the idea of Nathaniel becoming a violent man.
"Exactly."
"If you need a hand, I am here too," He ended in a grin, getting thrilled to give a hand.
Smirking at Keith, Nathaniel inclined his elbow on the wall, suppressing a laugh at his reaction.
"Oh? I thought you weren't that type of guy,"
"We all thought you are not romantic too but it seems like you are." He retorted as they both laughed a little.
He didn't know that either nor evaluated himself anywhere near that category too.
It sounded deriding, 'Me? Romantic?'
His smirk widened, 'He would faint if he saw the way Zari looked at me. THAT'S what one contemplates as romantic.'
"One can never tell who the other is, don't you think?" Nathaniel hummed.
"Yeah, you are right about it,"
"And please, Keith, don't tell anyone about it," Mark added sweetly.
Not sure if they could trust him or not but being a senior, he had minded his business mostly.
"Sure. My lips are sealed but if you need any help, I am here,"
"Thanks,"
Later, during the survey, he received a call from Zariah.
"Keep the patient under observation- Just a second,"
Stopping the nurse, he motioned to them to go on and attended the call, finding it undeniably mesmerizing to find himself at work and his girlfriend calling to check up on him.
With a beautiful smile plastered, he attended the call, causing the nurses and fellow staff to stop and glance at the stoic man.
The shine on his face, the smile reaching instantly as his sugar-coated resonance came.
"Hey, Darling,"
"Hey, I hope I am not disturbing you,"
"No, not at all, there is time for my routine checkup, I could sneak a few minutes,"
He whispered the end part with a chuckle, noticing the eyes were on his and moved back so he could talk privately.
"Nathaniel, listen, I am going out to the market,"
"Sure, go. You don't need my permission, sweetheart," He chuckled a little.
"I haven't converted my money yet, didn't get the time so I don't have money currently," She hesitated.
"Ah, right, I have another wallet in my drawer, it must have some cash. Or you can find my card lying somewhere in the room, I don't know where exactly." He explained sweetly.
"Okay, thanks,"
"I will come and then we will go to the exchange center too, have a nice date too,"
She giggled, feeling delighted to be blessed to share such a moment with him.
"Sure, sure, anyways, I gotta go, bye,"
When they were married, she failed to receive moments like this- although it was another circumstance that they both were liars for each other.
"And yeah, Zari,"
"Hmm?"
"Take care."
He knew he didn't have to say this, she was way more capable of protecting herself but they came from the bottom of his heart.
Unquestioningly, it made her feel exhilarated, it gave her a sensation of cloud-nine.
It meant too much.
