Chapter # 5
INDIA
When the news of the crash came, a certain brown eyed man with short black hair was staring out of the window of his enormous building in India.
Knowing he had finally gained a higher position and level and now he would destroy those who ruined him.
His hands resting in his pocket with stoic features, hearing the news about how unfortunate the crash event was.
"Thank God, she is dead. She was an eyesore anyways,"
His father muttered, leaning against the table.
He ended up laughing wickedly upon hearing it, causing his father to be perplexed.
"What?"
He merely glanced over his shoulder with a malevolent glint flashing in his eyes, well aware of the nature of his opponent.
"Dead? You think?"
AMSTERDAM
In a dark, dusty room, the woman with long raven hair and dead eyes found herself restrained.
"Mhm?"
Her mouth was covered, unable to move, having no idea what happened or how she ended up here.
All she knew was that she couldn't move a single muscle or utter a sound, she was trapped.
Her eyes barely managed to make out her surroundings of the dark room with one question-
'Where the fuck am I!?'
Surrounded by her questions and worries, she recalled what exactly happened that she ended up being caged here.
Earlier before crash-
"Argh, fuck,"
Zariah was groaning in pain, she was obviously not healed and the pain caused her fever. But, she knew she must return to India.
"The flight is in an hour, here take your medicine," Andy spoke softly, offering her the medicine and water.
"I don't need you for it." She muttered, rudely taking her medicines.
"Did he say something?" She asked coldly.
"No, no response from his side yet." He shrugged.
She hummed, leaning back to relax for the time being. But, soon realized that her mind was becoming hazy, her body was turning numb, leaving her baffled at what happened.
"What the- Andy!?" She growled, glaring at him before losing consciousness as Matt shouted from behind.
"Boss!"
Back to present-
Gritting her teeth, she was infuriated. She believed it must be the one who shot her and captured her to finish it's job.
Pressing her head harder on the ground, she felt frustrated by the trouble she got into. All she desired was two moments with her beloved.
And got tribulations instead.
With fury, she thought- 'They were with me then how the fuck I ended up here?! Who would dare to do it?'
When Zariah was surrounded with her troubles and unwanted thoughts- On the other hand, Nathaniel, was with his dearest sister, Cinzel.
His head was hanging low. His brother-in-law, Prince, was rubbing his back while he kept a deadpan expression on his mysterious face.
"Oh, Nathaniel, I am so sorry to hear about Zariah's death. Are- Are you okay, my brother?" She whispered worriedly.
She hugged him but her consolation did not affect. He simply smirked dryly and pulled away from her.
"She left my domain years ago, whether she is here or not- what matters?" He laughed a little to himself, removing Prince's hand too.
His exhaustion, his anguish, the hopelessness he emitted made the couple worried about him. They had never seen him like this.
"Don't talk like this, at least not with me. You cannot fool me,"
Cinzel frowned and was about to hold his shoulder but he stopped her by grabbing her wrist.
"Then don't ask, Cinzel. What do you expect? I feel absolutely horrible," He hissed but realized how harsh he got so he let her go and moved back.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to..." He whispered, moving back to take a seat, hiding his face in his hands.
"Nathaniel,"
The couple called him compassionately, feeling bad for him.
The fact he lost the one he always desired without even having her, was heartbreaking.
Upon noticing their expression, he smiled emptily, "Don't look at me like this. Since when I haven't lost people I love?"
Before he could immerse in depression, his eldest niece, Sky, came rushing and hugged him.
"Uncle,"
"Ah, Sky. How are you, dear? I missed you so much. Here, I brought cake for you," He forced a grin, pinching her cheek before showing her the cake he got for her.
"Are you okay?" She asked innocently when he was holding her and got up.
"Now I have seen you guys, I am."
Prince and Cinzel didn't argue, he looked tranquilized with the kids so they remained silent and let him indulge.
Nathaniel had two nieces and two nephews.
First eleven-years old, Sky. Then the twins, three-years old, Logan and Arya and a six months old Adam.
Being with them warmed his heart. He felt good, he felt better.
"And then I cured him with magic. You know your uncle is the best doctor after all," He told them his hospital stories.
"Wow. You are a hero, Uncle," Sky beamed.
"Aren't I?"
"Okay kids, it's time for bed."
Getting worried about her brother, Cinzel put the kids to sleep before coming to Nathaniel. He was smiling to himself as they came and sat with him.
"How will you manage?" Prince asked softly.
"I... don't know. Just continue my work. That is all I have left in my life anyways," He shrugged his shoulders.
"Why don't you stay here for the time being? With us, you will feel better rather than your lonely apartment," Cinzel suggested expectantly.
"No, I think I need some alone time." He shook his head in denial.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, yeah. Your brother is not that weak, Cinzel. I will be fine,"
His smile grew, pinching her cheeks to reassure her.
They exchanged glances before giving Nathaniel a side hug, "We are here for you, Nathaniel,"
"Thank you,"
