Chapter # 34
'So I failed huh...? He was right all along, I couldn't do this,'
He was engrossed in torturing his prey as she watched for a few seconds with tears springing in her eyes.
Her body trembled, gripping on the door firmly as support. Her heart clenched to find end level wrath and resentment in those emerald eyes.
'Please, please, let it be a nightmare.'
She pleaded in her heart and 'if' it was work, she might have been apprehended but it was merely his perennial vengeance.
A strong string of hatred which would never cease.
"Stop..."
She failed to release a proper resonance with those shaky lips and when with continuous scowl, he moved to grab the rod to press it on his burn, she gasped.
"Nathaniel, stop!"
Yelling, she rushed down, grabbing his elbows while shaking her head in denial to stop him from becoming a monster.
"Please! What are you doing!?" She whispered.
Tears clouded her vision accompanied with uneven breaths and a fragmented mind.
His discontent augmented to find her here. He would never want her to find him like this, in such a bloody and beastly state.
"What the hell are you doing here?! Leave!" He scowled.
Ripping his elbow away from her as she attempted to slap the rod away but he didn't let her.
"I won't! You stop this monstrosity at once, Nathaniel!" Her voice broke, a tear silently rolling down.
But, he had lost his mind. He was panting, eyes blinded with detest, animalistic hints flashing in that fuming aura, he was growling.
His mind, his sanity was buried somewhere along the way which lost its way to the surface whenever he saw Guru.
"No, he deserves this, all of this so don't interfere,"
"Why!?"
"Do you have any fucking idea what he did to me!?"
Yelling, he threw the rod away, causing her to flinch at the creaking sound. Taking a step back out of anguish her watery eyes shrink.
He was frightening her.
And today, being deluged in pain and weight he carried all this time, he gripped her arms harshly.
Pressing her numb body into his so he could yell his ache with a powerless tear rolling down his cheek.
"He killed my family!"
"W-What?"
"GURU IS THE MURDERER OF MY FAMILY!!"
He held the inability to remain silent at this destructive point. It became impossible to bury it in him.
Pointing his finger outrageously at Guru, tears brimmed, his hands were shaking violently while he dug his nail unknowingly on her arm.
"This motherfucker shot my Persephone, my dearest sister, right in front of my eyes!"
Scowling, he lost his composure.
With a short inhale, he suppressed his feelings and twisted her arm to press her into his toned chest.
"They deserve all the misery I give them and I WILL torture them each time my chest will hurt, Zariah,"
Whispering angrily, his pants mixed with her miserable one.
She was stunned for the next seconds before returning a compassionate glance. Forcing her weak hand to place it over his jawline.
She was seriously afraid.
His wrath, his revenge, his intentions of not ceasing this darkness.
All of it was too much so with a prayer to elicit some pity, she let out a quivering smile, brushing her nose against his.
"Just because they were like this doesn't give you the right to become a monster too," She whispered as smooth her resonance could go.
Moving her hand around his nape yet none of it lowered his fury. He was growling, burying his face in the crook of his neck with his shoulders loosening gradually.
"Aren't you my Nathaniel? Weren't you supposed to leave it behind?"
And this tender murmur revoked his anger as he pushed her away, creating distances with a taunt that made her mouth drop.
"Oh, please, don't give me these words. Who you used to be and how is not a lie,"
Those were only two steps but in that slightest space, Zariah found a wall in between, an irretrievable space.
He stood so far despite being this close.
"We all know you come from the same fucking contaminated roots, Zariah," He hissed, pointing his finger at her.
She made a crying face, "Wh- What?"
For a heartbeat, she didn't believe what she was hearing but taunting was always his nature- she almost forgot that.
"You have come from here too, you were a monster, a fucking murderer too so don't try to act like a saint here,"
Taking a step dangerous closer, he looked down at her warningly, not bearing any hindrances in his path of revenge.
"They are my slaves, My culprits, the origin of my nightmares,"
"Nathaniel, please, hold yourself,"
She was about to touch him only to find him slapping it away.
"Not yours or anyone else's so they will get the punishment 'I' decide, do you understand?!"
Moving back, he grabbed the rod again, sparing no glance towards her as it took a few moments to register.
"Don't interfere in my matter,"
It fucking pierced, madly, terribly, nightmarishly. He couldn't fathom how much his actions of aversion led him.
A few muted tears adorned her cheeks, gripping her dress with those fiercely shaky hands she looked down.
Her mind submerged into the depths of an abyss.
She didn't realize his hatred would be 'this' bad.
"I see..."
Sniffling, she decided to subdue all her emotions, wiping her cheeks. He looked from his shoulder with a dead expression.
"Fine then, stay here with them but don't you dare to touch me with these filthy hands," She enunciated, pointing her finger contemptibly at him.
His mouth gaped, eyes traveled from bottom to top. His hands lost their strength as the rod fell on the ground.
"Just because I have contaminated roots, doesn't mean I urge to remain there today too but of course, you wouldn't understand,"
"Zariah, I didn't mean-"
She was about to leave but going after her, he held her wrist but she hit his chest, attempting to push him away but he didn't bulge, highly disheartened.
His posture finally loosened, shaking his head in denial, not permitting her to walk on him.
"Don't say this, Zariah, we both know I am sensitive in your matter,"
"Because now when I have taken myself out of this, I don't want to submerge into this again,"
"You continue, that is what and who you are anyways,"
She leaned forward to stare dead into his eyes with an upsetting tear rolling down her cheeks as she growled his truth.
"Contaminated blood, just like your mother,"
His grip tightened furiously, warning her, "Don't,"
"Congratulation to this hatred, on capturing your prey, enjoy your time, Plague Doctor,"
Pouring all her strength, she pushed him away, causing him to fall on the ground as she ran out of the basement and growing hopeless in her matter, his extended forward to hold her again.
"Zariah, listen-"
"Don't talk to me, asshole!"
Getting up hastily, he ran after her. They were walking down the corridor.
De Villiers was in the corner and saw them coming out.
"Boss-"
He was about to come but stopped when Nathaniel pressed her roughly against the wall, she was struggling to leave but not caring, he became breathless, desperate.
"Do not raise that voice against me,"
"Stop it, Nathaniel, I am so done with this fucking charade, please," She whimpered.
Shaking her head in denial but leaning to her neck, he didn't allow her to leave.
"Darling, listen,"
"Don't touch me!"
"Zariah, enough!" He growled.
Staring dead into her eyes, unintentionally startling her by his possessiveness.
"Please, don't come near me," She whispered, pulling her head as far as possible to deny any touch.
"I fucking dare you to push me away,"
To his scowl, she shut her eyes, afraid of the man before her at this point. She couldn't endure another second with him.
"Please, please, please,"
And intolerably, her composure broke, liberating a weak sob from her and attaining this as an opportunity, he hastily embraced her to rub her back.
"See. Come here, it's alright, I am here, you are here."
Using his most mellow tone, he rubbed her back, not allowing her to push him away, hugging her with those strong arms while she was wailing in his chest, soaking his shirt.
"You are scaring me, Nathaniel, please, let me go,"
And to disturb her condition more than it already was, he held her face obsessively.
A dark, wicked smirk coming to his lips as he whispered seductively- the undeniable truth.
"I will let you go, my darling, but answer me honestly- Can 'you' let me go?"
To his question, she shivered violently as he let her go.
Frightened by the evil hint which reflected in his blinded gaze, she knew it was impossible but forcing her body to move, she ripped them apart.
"You are fucked up, Nathaniel, you are fucked up,"
With tears recollecting in her black gaze, she made an almost crying face and ran away as he smirked darkly, shaking his head.
And when De Villiers watched it, horror came on his face. Pressing himself against the wall, his throat dried in fear.
'The same evil blood, just like him, the same demonic nature.'
Thinking with dread coming to him, he glanced at Nathaniel who loosened his shoulder, converting his darkness into sorrow.
He couldn't watch her leave after all.
And watching his emotions changing in a heartbeat, De Villiers completed his thought distressfully.
'He is exactly like him after all... I will never forget that moment...'
