Chapter # 57
On the other hand, Nathaniel was working nonchalantly in the hospital and after hearing Zariah whine about his absence, he knew they deserved a break.
As he was in the ICU ward to check up on his patient he saw Mark at the desk.
After the checkup, he was about to leave but stopped and pointed his finger at him playfully.
'Mark,"
'Hmm?"
'Give me an instant idea to take Zari out on a date after work. In five, four, three-"
'Amusement park!" He whisper-yelled, pointing back at him with a wink, proud of himself for replying this immediately.
'I don't think she has never seen one, she will be thrilled,"
Narrowing his eyes, Nathaniel took a moment, contemplating his option, giving it a minute observation before returning a grin.
'That. Was. Amazing," He added, 'And she had seen an amusement park,"
'Really? Never heard about it,"
'When we were seventeen, we had our first date there. We snuck from the highschool and had a day out. Ah, it was fun, it will surely revive memories,"
He chuckled, drowning in thought to imagine how beautiful a date there would sound.
A day for them, just them.
'So can I go back now?"
'Sure, good job,"
'Thanks,"
After being done with the ICU ward, he was about to continue his survey until his assistant nurse arrived hastily.
'Doctor, you have a patient,"
'My time to take patients just ended, I am going to check on my outpatient now,"
'He says it is an emergency,"
He stopped since he was in a delightful mood, only stuck at his date, he returned a smile, not minding anything.
'....I guess I can take one patient. Gracie, complete the survey for the outpatient, I will join you in a bit,"
'Yes, Dr."
'Thanks,"
Whistling, his hands were in his pockets, dispersing radiance by his demeanor everywhere. They could feel the felicity from their silent doctor.
The staff was whispering to each other, questioning his glee but as they say- ‘Ever since he got a girlfriend, he has become too blithe,'
Entering his cabin with a shining smile, he saw a familiar man with a mark on his neck that made him arch an eyebrow.
'Hello- Oh, look who is here,"
The glee burning in his chest vanquished to find Zoran there who was no longer continuing the act of the doctor, hence unrecognizable here.
‘Not today, Nathaniel, you have a date, a few more breaths won't hurt,' He thought and forced out an impish grin.
'My, my, you look amazing with my mark on your neck, no damn contact lens and fucking makeup,"
Locking his cabin and inclining on his seat with one leg over the other assertively, scanning him with disgust yet not bringing that on his facial features.
'Why don't you remove that damn surgery too? Shall I break this fake nose of yours?"
He continued smiling wickedly, elbow on the armrest to hear about his malady.
'You seemed to be in an awfully good mood,"
Zoran scanned him in astonishment but also electrified to wipe that smile from him.
'Because I am and I am pretty sure it won't remain long since I had seen your undesirable face,"
Ending in a sigh, he failed to hold his smile further and ruffle his hair, scattering them on his forehead, enhancing his features.
'So why are you here unless you are going to beg me for mercy,"
'I am done doing that, I have seen what it results in, no effect," Zoran rolled his eyes.
'Then why are you here?"
And to test his barely existing limit, Zoran asked huskily, leaning forward to study the change in his emotions delightfully.
'First love or first friend?"
Nathaniel returned an evil smile, 'I will smash this face on my table and drag you back to the hellhole you escaped from,"
'Do it."
'Oh?"
One massacre of a wrong family led them to a nightmare, it had messed his mind up.
'You have already murdered my very soul by killing my mother before my eyes and then my siblings and my family,"
What did he have left to lose? His own breaths? Zoran no longer cared about the consequences.
'What can you possibly do to break an already dead person?"
He laughed insanely, discarding all possible factors and pushing him into a powerless corner that wiped Nathaniel's shine, bewildering him.
'Market for body parts is high, at least gain some profit out of your pitiful demise,"
Zoran's jaw clenched, growling at Nathaniel, 'Why don't you do that to Zariah or De Villiers?"
'You-"
'And before you actually do something you might regret. Here,"
The second he watched the video of Zariah holding a gun over De Villiers' head, it numbed his senses, stealing his ability to think.
Of course, unaware what happened afterwards but to find her placing a gun over his best friend was unbearable.
'Am I supposed to believe that?" Nathaniel almost chuckled.
'Did you forget she came to Amsterdam to steal a file for ‘me'?"
Losing his forbearance, Nathaniel glared, warning him to watch his words.
'Because she didn't know-"
'Also because she had a deal with me that I let her sneak into her beloved Nathaniel's life by faking to steal a file,"
Losing his posture, Zoran indulged in the way horror crept on Nathaniel's face along with comprehension of the situation that purloined words from his vocal cords.
'Why do you think the one who brought down Heaven's tower on her own got shot?"
And not caring about state, he heartlessly continued, pushing him into a flabbergasted, dismayed, disheartened state.
'She got you and now she has given me what I ask her for,"
His body jerked up, shaking his head in denial as he kept on smirking darkly, stiffening the man in appall.
He had endless belief in his worshiper who did everything for his sake.
‘The one who gave up her world, would never be unfaithful to me. What the fuck is wrong with him? Zari could never…'
Inhaling sharply, Nathaniel punched the table, averting his gaze with a warning.
'... I am giving you a moment to think of what you are speaking,"
Zoran retorted, 'And I am giving you a moment to think and rewatch that video,"
Carrying a hefty heart, he opened it again.
'Here you go, Zoran, as per our deal. De Villiers,"
'If he came to know you joined hands with Zoran, his pride in you will break. How can you do this after witnessing his hatred?"
The sight of the gun was already intolerable and to hear her words- it pierced his heart, obliterating the gleam he held onto.
Losing himself, he was about to end his whole existence there, 'You-"
'Kill me and my men will kill them," Zoran threatened seriously.
He absolutely loved the sight.
He was dying for it.
To find him agonized, breathless, devastated, overwhelmed with disappointment.
He feasted his eyes, loving the moment where he was stuck between his emotional disaster, barely holding himself and he decided to burn his scar.
'And besides, why so furious with me? Your Zariah came to me, she made a deal, willing to pay any price and this is the price,"
'Stop fucking around. She could never imagine do this,"
'Why don't you stop being delusional?" Zoran mocked.
'Why do you think I was able to escape from India, put up a fake Zoran there, then from your basement, and even now. Who was helping me all along?"
'You can't be serious…"
Slamming his hand on the table, Zoran rose from this seat, confessing everything he promised Zariah he wouldn't.
'Accept it, Nathaniel Alroy, you are not the only selfish one here,"
Downgrading her from Nathaniel's eyes. Demolishing the home they intended to build as he declared outrageously.
'The real dangerous worshiper here was none other than your beloved, Zariah."
