Chapter 10: Turning Back Time
Under the violent stimulus, Soros immediately fainted.
When he awoke, he found himself lying on his bed with bottles of wine thrown everywhere.
He sat up, suddenly finding the scene inexplicably familiar.
He reached for his cell phone, but saw that it's the one he threw away so long ago. For a moment, he had a ominous feeling.
When he opened the phone, the date display on it made him a little dizzy. It was actually the day after he had just married Anna.
"What, what's going on?"
Soros muttered, seeming to remember something and hastily unzipping his shirt to look.
Caressing the smooth skin, Soros sighed, "Sure enough, no wounds."
"Did God bring me back to redeem me from my previous mistakes?"
He knew everything now. He knew everything Anna had done for him. But he wondered what she thought. How she had done so much without ever telling him.
Even, in the end, even though her life had been given to him. How was he supposed to face her?
At that thought, he flipped through his cell phone, but didn't see Anna's number.
Soros was stunned. Although he didn't like Anna's presence, her contact information was necessary because she was very capable.
In the workplace, he often needed to honor Anna, even if he didn't even want to admit it...
Because her presence made him very incompetent and he hated this feeling.
At every meeting, the teasing looks from the bigwigs made him want to turn the table over, but he had to plaster a smile on his face, even though he thought he was the most competent person in the room.
His phone rang, and when he picked it up, Julia Janney's soft voice came on, "Soros, don't be sad. Anna doesn't value you. You're such a good person, you deserve better."
"Why should I be sad?" Soros didn't understand what the woman was talking about.
But Julia was Elizabeth's best friend, so he still cared about her feelings. "There's something else you want to talk about, isn't there?"
Through the phone, Soros sensed her silence and he was a little annoyed, "Julia Janney?"
"Ah, sorry." Julia Janney's panicked voice came through, puzzling Soros.
"Soros, I know you've always hated me. This time, I'll let you go, and I'll stay away from you in the future." A very firm voice came before he spoke again.
"Anna?!" Soros suddenly became excited. The raspiness of his voice was evident from his hangover, causing the person on the other side of the phone to pause for breath as if she was about to say something.
But until the end, Soros didn't hear what she was trying to say, and the call simply hung up.
He threw the phone on the bed in righteous anger and pounded on it with his fists.
"What was I expecting? How could that liar give up so easily? She was just a slutt."
For once, Soros didn't notice that his appearance was different than usual.
After he calmed down, he went to the restroom and looked at his stubbled self in the mirror as if he were in a different world.
