Chapter 15: Their Twisted Relationship
It was as if everything changed immediately, especially when he learned that Anna was so good to him that she could even give up her own life. And that God had played a joke on him.
At this moment, the world meant nothing without her by his side.
Anna looked at Soros coldly. She was miserable too. She thought she had gotten over him, but seeing him like this still made her heart ache.
She exhaled and said to Soros, "Leave. I'll pretend you never came. You didn't like me in the past. That's how it's going to be in the future. I don't blame you for anything."
Soros covered his heart, "Anna, this is the first time I've known you to be such a heartless person."
Anna, who was so determined, was like a cocoon turning into a butterfly, beautiful and striking. Compared to her, the tender Elizabeth was nothing.
At that moment, Soros suddenly had a desire to conquer. He had a feeling that at this moment, she was the real her.
The old Anna was always in disguise, trying to make him happy.
Soros forgot that no matter what she did for him, he hated her with a passion.
Back then, he pretty much dominated her.
Anna thought that after four years of being married to him, she really didn't get anything out of him except being hurt over and over again.
It was really ironic that they couldn't even pretend to be a couple anymore.
Anna wondered why Soros dared to treat her this way. It should have been because she loved him so much that she could sacrifice for him.
She would do anything to please him if he would let her.
She realized that this relationship was actually twisted.
Not only because of her endless sacrifices, but also because of his endless demands, which he always pretended not to know.
But was that even possible? Whatever the truth was, as president of the Anna Group, Soros wouldl know nothing. He just didn't care.
After all, when someone offered themselves to him, how could he possibly refuse?
Anna smiled at Soros, "Mr. Soros, thank you for letting me know the truth. My callousness has always been only for those who deserve to be treated cruelly. But hopefully you will never be one of them."
When it was over, Anna pulled Joey towards the villa.
Soros stood still and lit a cigarette. Then he choked and threw it to the ground.
On the second floor, Anna watched him from behind the curtains, her hands clenched into fists. She was afraid that if she let her guard down, she would become weak again and pull the man in.
Joey poured her a glass of warm water and handed it to her, "Miss, if you sympathize with him so much, why would you say something like that to hurt him?"
Honestly, Joey really didn't see the point.
"You don't understand," Anna's face became somber, "I don't have anything to do with him anymore."
Joey shrugged. He didn't think she meant what she said.
After all, he didn't really agree with that approach. Repressing one's feelings all the time could lead to madness.
