Chapter 44 Strange Things
God must have couldn't take him anymore and threw him in here to wake him up, Soros thought.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the car window, and he lowered it to see a woman outside.
"Julia? We don't have any relationship anymore. What are you still doing here?" Soros said coldly.
From outside the car, Julia looked at him pitifully, "Soros, I'm pregnant."
At that moment, Soros became cold but quickly narrowed his eyes and opened the car door.
"Get in. I thought you said you were on the pill." His voice was low and husky.
Julia sat in the car and became excited. "I did take it, but it just doesn't work for some reason."
Soros nodded and drove towards the hospital.
On the way, he says to Julia, "Keep the baby. I know what you want. I can give it to you."
Julia suppressed excitement, "Soros, I really like you. There's absolutely no place for me until you have Elizabeth and Anna around."
Soros showed a mocking expression and watched Julia's performance quietly without comment.
All he needed now was a child, and it didn't matter who the mother was.
He'd found that his feelings had become cold and completely dispensable since he'd realized that he and Anna were no longer possible.
He feels strongly except when he sees Anna, but it's too late.
......
Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, it's been three years since Joey graduated. Over the years, he'd worked for Elena's company, from intern to junior employee to project manager to general manager.
Promotion couldn't be described as slow, but no one would gossip about him because the results of all his hard work were visible to everyone.
In this place, the working atmosphere is cosy, and almost everyone treats it as a second home.
The company's afternoon tea breaks are even more popular. Their office has expanded from the previous two floors to the current building. Employee retention was even higher, so much so that several of the owners had come to learn from her experience.
Anna didn't say anything. It was simple: a simple work environment, a substantial income, and that was it.
On this day, Anna had just returned from a business trip and found the atmosphere in the company a bit weird.
The employees were sneaking glances at her. Was it her makeup, Anna wondered? Or was she dressed inappropriately?
After thinking about it, she thought it was strange. She took a clear look at herself before entering and adjusted her clothes to ensure she was okay before joining the office.
After all, if she had a slight headache, it would surely be a cause for concern; for that, she was impressed.
Anna walked sceptically to her office door, and just then, even her senior secretary stole a glance at her, and the feeling that something was wrong became even more apparent.
