Chapter 30 - Pancakes
Anna thought that, in fact, she had a full life now, with a little boy by her side and her job.
Such a good and free life. If time permitted, she would definitely go to the bar for a drink.
After drinking her milk, Anna went out onto the balcony and sat up there all night.
During the night, Joey woke up with thirst. He saw her didn't sleep, so he went to the kitchen.
He crept over to her and was going to scare her, but realized she was just sitting there asleep.
Without touching her, he could feel the chill on her body.
Joey sighed and stared at her helplessly, whispering, "You'll catch a cold!"
He leaned down and picked her up. Maybe she felt his touch, so she grabbed his neck.
That's when Joey thought of a lazy, beautiful cat in his arms, stretched out or curled up and snoring. He just wanted to spoil her.
After he put Anna back on the bed in his bedroom, he quietly examined the place he hadn't looked at properly before.
The layout was simple and decent, with no unnecessary decorations, not much different from the guest room.
It was obvious that her weekday life wasn't as refined as the boy's, if not as refined.
Joey smiled at the thought and tucked her in with a quilt before leaving the room.
It occurred to him that he hadn't had any water yet!
After a moment's hesitation, he pushed the door open again and surreptitiously took out the bottle of water that had been rolling on the couch.
This time the water was no longer cold, but he still felt cool.
Maybe, Joey thought happily, it was because he had a beautiful woman for company?
Anna woke up to a scent, "What is that smell?"
As she sat up she sniffed and headed for the kitchen.
Joey was taking off his apron and there were fresh pancakes on the counter.
Pancakes, to Anna, were a food of legend, something she had seen but not eaten.
After all, she was a classy lady. She couldn't afford to ruin her image.
But now it was different. She wasn't surrounded by people.
So Anna swallowed, looked at the pancakes, and then looked at Joey with anticipation in her eyes.
Joey blinked and said deliberately, "Oh, I thought you might not like something like that, I only made mine, I'll make you some pizza later."
Then the light in her eyes dimmed.
Joey couldn't help but laugh at her like that, "You're so cute!"
Anna turned her head, and walked out. She didn't care at all!
She sat down on the couch in the living room as the pancakes that appeared in front of her.
"What?" Anna asked, pretending to be serious and intense. To Joey, she looked more like a pet cat now.
