Chapter 9: Her Black and White Photos
Three months passed.
Soros' body basically returned to normal.
It was just that every time he thought of Anna, his heart ached vaguely.
"Do you know how Anna is doing now?"
He asked his friends and her colleagues.
But everyone shook their heads and said they didn't know.
The woman who loved to hang out in front of him seemed to have evaporated from the planet.
He couldn't hear a word about her.
Elizabeth would say, "She's pregnant and probably staying somewhere scenic to have her baby. She was always lonely and arrogant and didn't have many friends around. Of course, few people know where she is."
Arrogant?
Soros never found Anna to be arrogant.
On the contrary, he found her clingy.
But others wouldn't see her as cold and arrogant, but as a goddess, an ice beauty.
Yes.
Anna was a beauty.
She had a fitness routine, so her body was perfect.
She was educated, elegant, and always satisfied his manly vanity at parties.
He just never admitted it.
He always demeaned her and denigrated her.
He always claimed that she was the one who ruined his happiness.
Elizabeth wanted them to marry.
Thoros did not refuse her.
He remembered that he hadn't married Anna, not even with a decent wedding ring.
They were married at City Hall.
That woman never complained.
Anna... Where the hell has she been?
Soros took a picture of him and Elizabeth's invitation and sent it to Anna.
Waited a while, no one responsed.
Then he initiated the invitation.
"I'd like you to come to our wedding next Monday."
Then, thinking that wasn't enough, he added, "Mom will be there too, she wants to see you."
But no one replied as well.
Soros's heart was squeezed tight. He couldn't breathe.
...
"Mom, Soros and I are getting married, and I can't sleep in the guest room forever."
Upstairs, Elizabeth and Caroline were arguing.
No matter what Elizabeth said, Caroline just didn't want to give her Anna's room.
Elizabeth was furious.
"Mom, if you still want to make Soros happy, you'd better not fight me."
Caroline still didn't back down.
Elizabeth gritted her teeth and just reached out and slapped herself.
Then she screamed.
Caroline looked at her in surprise, "You, what are you doing ......"
"Mom, why did you slap me? I was just trying to get into the house to put something away .........."
Elizabeth's tears flowed naturally.
Soros ran up the stairs, two steps at a time.
He took her in his arms.
"Mom, you shouldn't have done that."
Caroline hurriedly explained, "I didn't hit her."
Soros took a deep breath.
He said, "Mom, when we get married, you better go back."
Those words froze Carolyn.
"Go back?"
"Go back to the estate abroad. Elizabeth has suffered a lot. I don't think it's a good idea for you to live together."
Caroline's eyes widened, "Suffered? Do you think I've made it bad for her?"
Soros took a long breath, "Mom, Elizabeth is a very kind person, she's not happy these days ......"
"She's not happy. Do you think I'm happy?"
Caroline suddenly burst into a rage.
"Mom, I don't want to argue with you."
Elizabeth tugged on Soros' coat and cried, "Soros, don't talk to her like that. It's my fault, I shouldn't have moved in this room."
"Anna is gone, she ......" Soros paused, "She said she's never coming back so there's no need to save a room for her, give it to Taylor."
Caroline's eyes immediately turned red as he talked about Anna.
She couldn't hold back the tears.
Caroline clenched her teeth and opened the door to her room.
"You can use it if you wish."
Soros froze.
Caroline then walked into the room.
When she came out again, she was clutching a black picture frame.
On it was a picture of Anna.
Elizabeth pales, "What is this ......"
Caroline couldn't hold back the tears any longer, "It's Anna."
Elizabeth looked at everything in horror. How could she have predicted that there would be these things in the room?
Soros' heart suddenly strained.
He asked, "Mom, what are you talking about?"
"Can't you see this is Anna?"
Caroline exhaled and smiled coldly, "She's loved you for ten years ......"
"And now, she died trying to save you."
"This heart of yours was donated by her."
"Did you know she was pregnant with your child ......"
"She even gave up the unborn child in her womb just to save you and give you this heart so you could live!"
"The heart beating in her chest was for you!"
