Chapter 16: Going with the flow
He wasn't sure what Anna was thinking, but Joey thought he knew something about this sort of thing.
So, he said, "The truth is, the more you avoid him, the less you may end up being able to let go of him. It's much better to go with the flow. That way, it's not the fastest way, but it's the most effective."
Anna looked at him with icy eyes, causing Joey to take a subconscious step back.
"Are you scared of me?" Anna raised her eyebrows, "Since you're afraid of me, you still dare to say those words. It seems you really are a bit stupid and bold!"
Joey held back, "I'm not stupid, I'm afraid something will happen to you."
"If something happens to me, what does it matter to you?" Anna asked with extreme indifference.
Joey opened his mouth but didn't say anything. He then walked out.
But where could he go? Out the door, all he could do was stand in the hallway in confusion.
Instead, Anna looked out the window again and realized that Soros had already left.
She sighed, remembering what she had told Joey earlier.
Anna walked out and saw Joey leaning against the railing, he was asleep.
She crouched down next to him, her fingertips resting on his face.
Joey was handsome, but his words did seem a bit much.
Guess she'd have to set some rules for him before she brought him over in the future.
Joey seemed to feel an itch on his face and lifted his hand to catch it.
Anna looked at their two entwined hands. She suddenly realized that this rebirth was not so meaningless.
The next day, Joey did not see Anna. It was her butler who instructed the driver to take him to school.
It was also at this time that Joey felt that Anna, although a bit of a pervert, was generally a good person.
So, when Anna sent her friend request, he accepted it immediately.
He clicked through to Anna's homepage, which was pretty monotonous, sharing the occasional song and nothing else of note.
Anna didn't talk to him about anything major, at most some holiday greetings and that was it.
What Joey didn't know was that while he thought her life was quiet, she was having a great time.
Early that morning, Soros asked Anna out.
At first, she did try to avoid him. But inadvertently she remembered Joey's words. Then she said yes.
The places Soros booked were always classy and upscale.
But as far as she was concerned, she couldn't do anything but pretend to have a good time here. That's why she always felt tired.
So when the food was here, she wasn't interested. Of course, if it was in the past, she would have appreciated it. But this time, she didn't want to indulge him anymore.
Seeing her like this, Soros took the initiative to ask, "Anna, don't you like this?"
Anna tossed her hair back, "Isn't it obvious?"
Soros narrowed his eyes, "You used to come here a lot, so I thought ......"
"Do you think I still like this place?" She replied with interest.
