Chapter 20: You Look so Shy
Fortunately, Joey was very good at reading people's mind, so he obediently let her hold him.
Joey was more than a head taller than Anna. So when they stood together, they looked very eye-catching.
But the clothes they wore didn't match, which made more people stare curiously.
Joey was sensitive to Anna's discomfort. He took a step to one side and glared angrily at those who were ogling them.
Anna bit her lips, surprised at Joey's thoughtfulness.
At the moment, all her thoughts were, why was he being so nice to her?
Anna lost focus and followed Joey for a long time. When he stopped, she didn't realize it and immediately bumped into him.
Joey turned and asked, "Is everything okay?"
He smoothly lifted a loose strand of Anna's hair behind her ear for her.
He raised his hand and gently stroked her bumped red forehead.
Anna subconsciously raised her hand to touch the spot only to bump into Joey's hand.
Their hearts both pounded and Anna tilted her head back.
Joey saw her reddened earlobe and blurted out, "That's the first time I've seen you become so shy."
After saying this, he instantly raised his hand to cover his mouth.
Sure enough, a second later, he received a merciless pinch from her.
A yelp of pain made everyone around him turn to look, so Joey hastily shut up.
Then, with tears in his eyes, he looked at Anna and whispered, "Miss, there's really no need to be so cruel. My arms must be all bruised."
"You deserve it." Anna said ngrily, suppressing her desire to pinch him again.
Speaking of which, he seemed to have been working out. His arms were quite bouncy when she squeezed them.
Joey knew what she thought right now. So he held her hands to avoid hurting his arms again.
Joey thought happily, she could never pinch him again.
Anna stared back at him now, speechless, "How can I walk like that!"
Hearing these words, Joey blurted out, "Then I'll carry you!"
But the thought that the person standing in front of him was a demon shut him up instantly and he silently let go of her hand, turning away in embarrassment.
Then he felt something cold grab his hand.
Biting his lower lip, Joey tightened his grip on the cold hand, repeating in his mind that it was all because her hand was so cold and he was holding it to warm her.
Yes, that was it. He had absolutely no other secret thoughts.
Subconsciously, he looked over at Anna and saw her winking at him mischievously. Instantly, Joey's heart started to beat so fast.
She was a naughty girl now instead of the usual ice beauty. This dichotomy fascinated him.
Joey was dazed and didn't notice that they came to a jewelry store.
Just then, he heard a woman's voice, "Would you like to buy earrings? I thought you don't have your ears pierced."
Joey rushed back to the earrings in front of him, the corners of his mouth twitched, and he said seriously, "No, I want to buy you some."
"Really?" Anna looked at him mockingly, signaling him to look at her ears.
