Chapter 29: Surface Warmth
"I know," Joey said, "that's why I'm going to your company. I can do anything for you, my lord."
Anna rolled her eyes very inelegantly, "Where did you learn those cheesy words? Stop it!"
So Joey replied, as if not allowing him to say slutty words completely ruined his passion.
Anna, amused by such a boy, chuckled, "Don't be like that. It's too late. Go find a clean room to sleep in."
Anna pushed the boy out, "Good night."
Joey stared out the door and pouted uneasily, "Shouldn't she have asked me if I'd be her dancer? Why hasn't she offered me a job instead of some contract for me to sign?"
Anna's actions confused Joey. He was a boy who had been through numerous trials and tribulations. Many times he knew there were risks, but he was certainly willing to try things as long as he could resist.
His roommate was too stupid to look at him when he spoke. How could he be fooled? So he had to reluctantly go along with it, and it turned out to be a bargaining chip.
He was really kind of happy at that moment, as if he had become so valuable for the first time since he was born.
At that moment, he guessed their intentions, which later proved to be that they were here for Anna.
As he fumed, he thought that with Anna's temper, she'd throw him into the sea and feed him to the sharks.
How was he to know that she'd actually agreed to their demands for his sake and even brought him back?
Although what he expected didn't happen, he was very sensitive and realized that Anna was a very warm-hearted woman!
Smiling at the thought, Joey pushed open the door to the next room and was about to clean it when he realized how neat everything was inside. Apparently, she'd hired a servant. Either way, it was much better than cleaning it himself.
He went into the bathroom, took a quick shower, and found pajamas in the closet that weren't his size.
Joey thought absently of Soros, the man who had apparently been put on Anna's mind.
But that was fine. Soros would probably never get the chance to know that Anna had once had a room for him.
Joey hooked his lips slightly. From now on, this room would only be filled with Joey's scent. As for Soros, he would work to make her forget him.
With such thoughts, Joey slept well through the night.
However, Anna next door was not as laid back as he was.
She made herself some milk, "Ah, how did you get like this?"
In fact, on second thought, she was doing much better now.
She had been really miserable in her last life. She had suffered the unreasonable sarcasm of Soros and had no way to complain.
