Chapter 24 - James Channing
With that thought in mind, Soros began to make plans to visit Anna's relatives and friends. But she didn't have. She used to think of him as her everything. He was her only relative and friend.
At this point, Soros realized how cruel he had been to her, he asked himself "What have you done?"
He did like Elizabeth, but when Lizzie did marry him, he knew that it couldn't work out for him and Elizabeth.
He was willing to protect Elizabeth, but didn't want to marry her again.
Anna was different. He finally realized that it was Anna who had been protecting him.
Soros covered his face, "Anna, where the hell are you?"
Fourteen years wasn't that easy to forget, was it?
At that moment, his secretary John walked in, "Mr. Soros, you have a dinner party tonight. It's time to get dressed."
No matter what the occasion, he was always meticulously dressed. It was a habit that had been maintained for years.
"John, tell them I can't go. I have other things to do."
John wanted to say something, but finally said, "Mr. Soros, aren't you looking for Miss Anna? I've heard she'll be attending."
Just at that moment, Soros shouted, "I'll go!"
John turned around and breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
The significance of the Channing family's holding this banquet was quite obvious. They wanted to help their illegitimate son find a girlfriend.
Speaking of which, the Channing family's illegitimate son was on good terms with Soros before. Then after Anna's surgery, the two drifted apart, and now they could barely be considered friends.
The last time Soros was dumped by Anna, James Channing was there. But it didn't matter. For these people, there were no eternal friends, only eternal interests.
So he had sent invitations to those two, and might want to see their play.
James Channing, an adept plotter who seems to get along with everyone, is actually a snake hiding in the shadows.
James Channing had been preparing for this banquet for a long time! Anna, he was eager to pull that woman off the altar.
He opened the lighter in his hand, hooked his lips, and smiled, ''I heard Anna has a crush on a college student? Good, I need a waiter here!"
The party had begun. Anna was late and the eyes of the crowd were focused on her.
She was wearing a black evening gown that maximized her pretty face and perfect body.
She was going to show up and greeted to the crowds. Because she was so busy she almost forgot about it.
If James Channing's father hadn't been so polite to her before, Anna wouldn't have even attended this time.
