Chapter 37 - Will You Marry Me?
For once, Soros officially said goodbye to Elizabeth, burying his memories with her to the depths of his being.
He cleaned up a little and prepared to go to see Anna. He had taken care of all his love debts, and now it was time to formalize his relationship with Anna.
In his last life, he didn't want to marry her. Now, Anna didn't want to marry him. God was fair.
If he could get Anna back, he would really spend the rest of his life treating her well. After all, she was the one who could sacrifice her life to keep him alive!
Soros picked out a bouquet of flowers and a costly perfume and then waited for Anna at her work.
At this time, Anna, still unaware of what she was about to face, was slowly driving from her home to her office.
Her work hours were reasonably casual, but she followed a schedule to give a good example.
When Anna arrived, she first saw Joey, who took the breakfast in hand.
Pretending that nothing had happened, she gently and deftly took the breakfast from Joey and whispered, "Thank you very much."
Joey smiled at her, "If there's anything else you'd like, you're welcome to order."
Anna nodded, a little surprised. After all, Joey's food was delicious and very much to her liking. These days, she had gotten used to eating what he cooked.
But Joey hadn't allowed her to order, and she wondered why he accepted it now.
As she was lost in thought, she heard a deliberate cough. The familiarity etched into her soul told her that Soros was here.
Then she turned to see Soros standing behind her, flowers in his arms. One was there when she came over a moment ago.
Thinking about it, Anna was a little embarrassed. She hadn't realized she hadn't even noticed Soros.
In a previous life, she would have been in complete disbelief.
She coughed and asked Soros, "Hello, I didn't know you were here. Is something wrong?"
Her company completely shunned Anna's family's investments and interests to keep him from finding a partnership.
Was he visiting her?
Anna figured that even if he wanted to settle scores, he should go after Elizabeth.
Anna's polite tone angered Soros, "Anna, I'm here to thank you. And at the same time, I'd like to say again, will you marry me?"
In their last life, they had gotten married really quickly. Soros rightfully thought that with all that had happened, it was time for them to get back together.
He was being frank now, and Anna should accept him. Afterwards, he would feel more confident facing her.
It wasn't like that. It made him really uncomfortable that Anna was so high up there and he was sinking so low.
