Chapter 14: Don't You Want to Have a Baby with Me?
"Love me?" He repeated.
"Yeah." I touched him on his chest, "I love your body, your abs, and your butt so much."
I swore that Elias had the urge to throw me to the ground after hearing that.
Once in the car, I sat crookedly in the passenger seat while he strapped me in before getting into the driver's seat.
He was wearing a thin white turtleneck sweater today. He had a charming sense of sensuality in such a simple outfit.
Watching him like this, a figure slowly appeared in my mind...
"Why do you keep staring at me?" He asked.
I went over to him, "Because you look good."
He started to blush again after I teased him, but he still pulled out a hand, pushed my head away, and said, "Sit still. I'm driving."
When we got home, Elias put me on the sofa and went to put the water in the bathtub.
While he was running the water, I walked to the bathroom. When I saw him squatting in front of the bathtub, I didn't hesitate to wrap my arms around his waist and whisper softly in his ear, "Honey."
He tried to dodge but failed, his ears pink, "Stop messing around."
"I'm not messing around." I hugged his neck, my eyes blurred, "I'm happy, happy..."
"Happy about what?" He asked.
"I'm happy that we're finally married, and I'm happy... happy that the one who has abandoned me back then has been abandoned too."
A large and warm hand caressed my face and wiped the tears off my face.
Elias's low voice crossed my ear, "Why do you shed tears if you are happy?"
"Because you have come to me."
Elias' eyes were much softer, "If I don't come to you, who will?"
"Yes, that's why I love you the most." I cupped his face and was about to kiss him when a wave of nausea hit me. I threw up in the tub.
Elias looked at me with a murderous stare.
When I was done with the shower, Elias handed me a bowl of something stinky with a stern face.
"Drink it."
I leaned back in disgust, "What is this? It smells so disgusting."
"Sobriety drink."
"I'm already sober." I was not drinking this stuff.
He sat down and said, "You have one minute to drink it."
Since when was he the one who ordered me? I was about to retort, but when I saw his serious face, I was a little nervous for some reason, so I finally gritted my teeth, took the bowl, and swallowed the drink with my eyes closed.
"It's bitter." I frowned, "What kind of drink is this? How can it be more bitter than chicory?"
"You've eaten chicory?" He rolled his eyes at me, took out a mint candy from nowhere, and handed it to me, "Open your mouth."
I opened my mouth to eat the mint candy while my tongue accidentally licked his fingertips.
Elias shuddered and jerked back his hand, staring at me incredulously.
I pretended not to see it and concentrated on the candy.
"Well, it's late, I'm going to bed." He was about to go to bed when I pulled him back.
I looked at him blearily, "Stay with me tonight."
He raised his eyebrows, "Didn't you promise that we would sleep in separate rooms?" You want to back out?"
Actually, Elias suggested that we slept in separate rooms for fear that I would force him to sleep with me.
After sleeping with me twice, this guy actually made such a suggestion.
I had not agreed at the beginning. How could a couple sleep in separate rooms? But this guy was known so stubborn that I would not be able to benefit from him if I had to bargain with him.
So, I temporarily agreed to it and planned to change his mind slowly.
"I'm not trying to backtrack, it's just..." I was looking for a reason when the wind was gusting outside. It was obvious that the rainstorm was coming. I tugged on his arm like a koala bear, "I'm afraid of thunder."
No sooner had I said it than we heard the rumble of thunder.
Even the sky was helping me.
Elias looked out the window for a while, then looked at me, and finally sighed, "Then I'll stay with you until you fall asleep, and I'll go back to my room."
"Sure, okay."
I patted the bed and raised an eyebrow at him, "Come here."
He hesitated for a moment and took off the jacket he was wearing.
Elias was always a neat freak. He never slept on the bed even in his night-robe. I had bought him plenty of men's pajamas and I had chosen most of them with V-necks in order to admire his nice body. Once he moved a little, I could see the wonderful scene.
But...
"Since when did you change your pajamas?" I was depressed.
He wore a set of plaid pajamas and wrapped himself up so tightly that my enthusiasm disappeared in an instant.
The beautiful scenery was gone.
He lifted the quilt and climbed into bed. After thinking for a while, he took the long pillow and put it in the middle. I was both angry and amused watching him do this.
"Honey, what are you doing?"
He glanced at me, "Just in case."
I thought in my heart, "Well, I should give you an award for the best chaste husband."
I threw the pillow aside, moved closer to him, and winked at him, joking, "How are we going to have a baby like this?"
Elias took a deep breath, "Is that all you can think about?"
What else?
What else would a couple think about if they didn't think about this? Did I have a husband just to display as a work of art in my home? I could not stand watching without touching him.
"Let's talk about it." I advised, "Though we are married by agreement, we are a legitimate couple and are allowed to do some legitimate things, right?"
Elias did not answer but took direct action.
As I looked at myself wrapped up tightly, I glared at him bitterly, "Elias, you're not a man."
"Are you a man if I'm not a man?" He shot back at me.
"I am much more of a man than you in a way." I grunted.
Elias looked as normal, not to be irritated by my words. He patted me on the head, "Didn't you say you were sleepy? Close your eyes and sleep."
"Sing for me then." I made a deliberate request.
"Sing?" As expected, he frowned tightly, "What song?"
"Any song. When I was a kid, my mom would sing me nursery rhymes when it thundered and rained, such as 'Early to Bed'. Do you know it?"
He answered quickly, "No."
"What about 'Five Little Monkeys'?"
He said with a stern face, "No, neither."
"How about 'Itsy Bitsy Spider'?"
"No."
"How come you know none of them? Do you have a childhood or not?" I joked.
In fact, I only said it inadvertently, but Elias looked gloomy when he heard it. He seemed to recall the unpleasant past and he stiffened his muscles, with some unknown emotions in his eyes.
