Chapter 34: Starting the Overall Arrangement
"Elias has talked to you?" I was surprised.
He nodded, "Yes."
I was somewhat curious, "What did he say to you?"
Neil rubbed his hands nervously, "He said that you are his fate. He spoke for me, not out of so-called kindness, but because he was afraid that I would go to extremes and hurt you."
I was greatly satisfied inside.
Neil blushed, "But he still said that he actually wanted to cut off my hands because I had touched you."
I waved my hand, "Well, forget about that. I'll assume that you were drunk and misguided and that you didn't really mean it. But since you did something wrong, you have to make up for it."
"Boss, no matter what you ask me to do, I will have no problem with it even if I have to undergo the most severe trials."
"You don't have to."
"But..." I looked at him as I said sternly, "Since you are loyal to me now, you must listen to me. If you are disloyal to me or betray me, I have no other skills but the ability to bring ruin and shame upon a person."
Neil nodded vigorously.
I took out a few photos and put them in front of him.
Neil took a look and his face changed slightly, "Isn't this Mr. Jordan?" Seeing my sullen face, he hurriedly changed his words, "Silvan."
"You know I hate Silvan?" I put my arms around my chest and looked at him calmly.
Neil pressed his lips together and said, "Actually, I have only heard it from hearsay."
"Oh, what have you heard?"
"There is a rumor that you and Silvan Jordan from TR headquarters don't get along, but that's just their speculation and gossip." Neil chose his words with care.
"You are right, Silvan and I don't get along indeed." I said, enunciating every word, "I even want to bring him down."
Neil was smart and quickly chose his side, "Boss, I am at your service."
"Go find out who the woman in the photo is. Follow her if necessary. Keep me posted on any progress."
"Okay, Boss."
"I will let you stay in TR after this case is successfully completed."
When Neil heard this, he looked at me amazedly, with tears of excitement in his eyes. But the next moment, he became a little uneasy, "What about Elias?"
"He'll stay as well."
"But..."
"Rules are made to be broken."
Neil had nothing more to say.
After settling Neil, I returned home.
Just as I arrived home, I heard meows. I looked down to find an orange kitten waddling towards me with her little bottom wiggling.
After walking up to me, she meowed softly and then waddled over by my feet.
The next moment, she actually climbed up along the leg of my pants.
I had never been a big fan of such furry creatures, but I didn't ruthlessly kick her away.
I could only say to her, "Get down."
The kitten didn't understand me and climbed up even higher.
Although she was still young, she could climb very well. When she was about to climb up to my hand, I could no longer stand it.
"Elias, where are you? Come here quickly."
"Coming." Hearing my voice, Elias came out of the kitchen with a spatula in his hand.
Seeing that I was overwhelmed by the kitten, he came up to me amusedly and looked at me without helping, "What's wrong?"
What's wrong?
He was such a rubbernecker.
"Take the cat away."
Elias didn't move but just raised an eyebrow, "Is this how you ask for help?"
I was both amused and annoyed, thinking when did this man become so mean.
But I was not a babe in the woods.
I reached out and lifted the kitten with one hand and said, "Since no one cares about you, I'll have to make you into cat stew."
The kitten seemed to understand my words and stretched out her paws.
I got wounded as a result.
Sitting on the couch, Elias disinfected me while complaining to me, "Why didn't you be more careful? How old are you? How could you fight with a kitten?"
I was aggrieved, "She scratched me and you even stand by her. I never thought I was less important in your heart than a cat."
I pulled my hand back in anger.
Elias touched my forehead with his finger helplessly, "As a president, are you not ashamed to compete with a little kitten?"
After that, he pulled me up, "Let's go."
"What for?"
"You were scratched by the cat and you need an injection."
I was afraid of injections, so I shook my head, "I'm not going. I was only slightly scratched. Besides, you just said that you had taken it to the hospital for a full body checkup and vaccination."
"Readiness is all."
I still insisted, "I don't want to go. What if I have a little baby in my belly?"
Elias' face changed at those words.
He stared at my belly as if to make a hole in it with his gaze.
"You..."
"Why are you so nervous? I just said 'what if', I didn't say it for sure." Excluding our first time, he had insisted on using condoms the next few times. That time on the business trip, we had not used condoms because we had not expected to do it.
I had never really liked children before. Even if I had wanted one, it was only to deal with my parents and put their minds at ease.
But now, I really wanted to have a child of our own.
It didn't matter if it was a boy or a girl, as long as it was smart, cute, and healthy.
Elias sighed with relief.
I caught the subtle expression on his face and was a little upset, "Why did it seem like you weren't quite so happy when you heard I would have a little baby."
"No." He denied.
"You obviously did."
We were about to argue about this when the little kitten came meowing to me and stretched out her tiny pink tongue to lick me gently.
Then, she bowed her furry little body and slept right in my arms.
To be honest, my heart was melted by this little kitten for a moment.
"She likes you a lot." Elias smiled and raised his phone to capture this precious scene.
I had not been interested in keeping small animals that were hairy and noisy. But today, I surrendered.
"What's her name?"
Elias was feeding her when I saw her ears twitching, which was so adorable that I couldn't help but reach out and pet her.
"I haven't named her yet. Why don't you name her?"
"She drinks so much that her belly is bulging, so let's call her Little Bucket."
Elias was speechless.
"I'm just kidding. Since she's so tiny, why don't we call her Bitsy?"
"Bitsy?" Elias repeated it gently, "Okay, let's call her Bitsy."
"What are you going to do about Silvan?"
My eyes narrowed slightly, "I have a good plan."
