Chapter 59: He Came Like a God
"Actually, I like the ocean too, except that it's so ever-changing that if there is nothing to suppress it, it will form monstrous waves and drown everything."
"Yeah." I moved away without a trace, avoiding him, "Mr. Jennings, I invited you just to make proper apologies with you this time. It is too difficult for us to complete the order in ten days. If you can give us more time, I will be grateful to you."
"Oh, how would you appreciate me?"
His eyes lingered greedily on me.
I exclaimed in my heart.
I didn't expect this old guy to refuse nobody.
He was actually interested in me after having dated so many beautiful women. I would not be afraid usually, but now there were only the two of us on the ship besides his cook. So, if he really wanted to do something, I would have to knock him out.
But then I would have offended him even more.
"Mr. Jennings, as long as you promise to give me time, when you come to TR in the future, I will treat you with hospitality."
"I don't want it in the future. I want it now." Jennings' patience seemed to have run out and he hugged me directly, "Ms. Thompson, to be honest, when I first saw you, I thought you had a special smell."
I was almost sick to my stomach when he suddenly hugged me.
"Mr. Jennings, please behave yourself." I struggled to break away from him.
"Ms. Thompson, if you stay with me for one night, I can even give you six months, let alone ten days. I have that right. You smell really good like roses."
At this point, I regretted a million times.
I should have listened to the branch president or I should at least have a precaution.
He was a sixty-year-old man. If I really wanted to fight, he wouldn't necessarily be able to beat me.
But the situation would become more complicated.
I was hesitating when a hand came up and tossed Jennings aside like a piece of trash.
A man dressed like a chef stepped in front of me.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
I didn't expect a cook on his cruise ship to help others for a just cause. I was about to thank him when he turned around and stared at me with an unfriendly gaze.
"Eli..."
He held up a finger and shushed me.
I nodded and kept my mouth shut.
Jennings, an old man, was thrown by a trained young man and could not get up for a while.
"Let's go." Elias took my hand and prepared to leave.
"Go? Where to?" We were in the ocean. Were we going to jump off the ship?
I looked up and saw a private jet hovering over the cruise ship.
There was a parking apron on the cruise ship. After the private plane came to a steady stop, Elias took my hand and walked to the private plane.
"Let's go."
It was the first time I looked down at the ocean from a private plane.
The dark sea, which had been unfathomable to me just now, became mysterious and gentle at this moment.
It was said that whether the view was nice or not was related to the people by your side.
I looked at Elias.
He was still wearing the chef's uniform, but his aura was not suppressed by the uniform.
Seeing that I kept staring at him, his eyes slowly softened, but his tone was still a bit unkind, "Why are you looking at me?"
Was he angry?
Was it because I had gone to the wolf's den alone tonight?
The plane stopped at a villa on the outskirts of town.
It was very secluded and clean, which had obviously been taken care of regularly.
I was picked up by Elias in front of the guy flying the plane as soon as I got off the plane. I struggled a bit but received an unkind look from him.
I immediately shut up.
"Go back first." Elias ordered to the guy who was flying the plane.
"Yes, Mr. Silva."
Elias carried me all the way into the villa, up to the second floor, and then threw me on the bed.
Yes, he threw me.
I even bounced because the bed was so soft.
I was about to get up when Elias had already pressed down regardless, locking me between the bed and him.
The familiar scent came to me and memories of the past followed. Perhaps I had been dry for too long, my body inexplicably went soft when he came close to me.
He grabbed my hands with both hands and his voice was slightly deep, "Jacqueline, why are you so impulsive?"
I remained silent.
"Would you rather go to that old man's appointment than come to me for help?"
I was still silent.
"Do you know what would have happened to you if I hadn't been there tonight?"
I looked away, "Don't worry about it. I would have found a way."
He suddenly laughed and pressed against me, "You would have found a way? What? Can you break free of me now?"
I struggled for a moment and found that there was indeed nothing I could do.
"Jacqueline, never underestimate the strength of a man, especially a lustful one, even if he is sixty years old."
"You know what?"
He sneered, "He has asked the chef to put drugs in your dinner. If you ate it, you would be at his mercy."
It was then that I was scared.
"Jacqueline," he finished scaring me and began to bait me, "If you ask me, I'll make that old man never get back."
I said dumbly, "Not now."
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"Not until his cooperation with me is successfully completed, at which point I don't care if he lives or dies."
Elias smiled gently and said, "Okay, just as you said, I'll make him pay when things come to a successful conclusion."
"What?"
"Even if you don't come to me," Elias paused, "I will help you unconditionally."
He got up, gently pulled me up, took me to the study, and handed me a document.
I opened it and was surprised.
"I've asked my assistant to take care of it. The shipment will arrive safely and smoothly to Jennings within ten days."
I didn't know what to say for a moment.
Should I thank him?
Or should I say that he owed it to me to do this?
"Jacqueline, is there anything you want to say to me?" He looked at me expectantly.
I opened my lips, "What do you want from me?"
His eyes darkened.
"Do you want me to spend the night with you, or do you want Nicholas? If it's the latter, I can tell you that I will never give him to you. He's a part of me and I won't give him to anyone, including you."
"Jacqueline..." He stroked my face gently and softly, "Are you saying this deliberately to anger me or are you just weak-minded? How could I possibly take Nicholas away from you or insult you?"
He rested his forehead against mine, "I just want to be with you, like I was five years ago."
For a second, I was lost in his softness, but the next second, I reacted.
He was going to be engaged to Tina in three months.
We weren't in the same world, but they were.
I took a step back, "I appreciate this, but it's not going to happen if we have to start over." I smiled bitterly, "I don't really want to be your secret lover."
At night, I tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep.
