Chapter 57: Elias Made a Pitiful Face
I coughed lightly, "I'll go get breakfast."
"I'll make breakfast. The food outside is too oily and salty for your health." Ian looked "virtuous", took the stuff straight into the kitchen, without asking Elias for permission.
I seemed to have nothing to do because Ian had joined in.
Elias had hurt his left hand as a left-hander and had a little trouble eating.
He looked at me eagerly, obviously expecting me to feed him.
"Mr. Silva, I forgot that your hand is injured and you have difficulty eating. Let me help you." Ian picked up the spoon and sat next to Elias naturally, "Mr. Silva, let me feed you."
Elias had a stern face, "Thank you, but no."
After that, he looked at me pitifully and then ate with his right hand with difficulty.
I couldn't stand to see his pathetic look and sighed, "I'll do it."
I swore that Elias' eyes lit up like light bulbs as I said that, and I didn't mean to exaggerate in any way.
"Sure." His attitude changed completely and he even offered to get up and sit next to me.
Ian ate in silence.
"I would like some beef." Elias swallowed the food in his mouth and said with a smile.
His eyes were beautiful. They looked calm and steady when he wasn't smiling but were pure and charming once he smiled.
Ian chewed his beef hard.
I took a look at this childish man, took a piece of beef and stuffed it into his mouth.
Ian was relieved when we finished eating while Elias couldn't get enough.
"You still want to eat?" I was speechless.
Ian finally got the chance to pick on Elias, "Mr. Silva, it's better to stop eating when you're 80% full. Don't be stuffed and make others tired."
I was helpless.
Elias retorted, "I'm not like someone whose appetite has been affected by something."
It was annoying.
Were the two of them still kids?
One was at the heir of Silva Consortium with a distinguished status and the other was the vice president of TR Group headquarters.
Who would have thought such mature and stable man would be here fighting over whether they had eaten enough or not.
How childish.
I hurried to stop their quarrel, "Ian, let me clean up the dishes. The decoration of your home is not over."
"It doesn't matter."
"Mr. Yates, Jacqueline is right, I don't want to trouble you anymore. I'm grateful to you for the breakfast you made."
Ian looked as if he had not heard it.
"I'll leave when you've finished your bath." Ian said.
Both Elias and I were shocked.
I was shocked because I had forgotten that Elias was injured and would not be able to shower by himself, so he would need me to help him.
Elias was shaken because...
What else could it be?
Elias said through clenched teeth, "Don't trouble yourself, Mr. Yates."
"No trouble. I've been on vacation lately anyway. Right, Boss?"
I forgot that I had approved his leave request because he was in the middle of house decoration recently.
He had saved up too much annual leave.
What could I do?
Elias said through clenched teeth, "Don't trouble yourself, Mr. Yates."
"No trouble. I've been on vacation lately anyway. Right, Boss?"
I forgot that I had approved his leave request because he was in the middle of house decoration recently.
He had saved up too much annual leave.
What could I do?
Of course, it was "none of my business".
After Ian finished "cleaning up" Elias and watched him lie in bed, he finally got to rest, "Since Mr. Silva is resting, Jacqueline and I should leave now."
With that, he came to take my hand.
Elias' patience had been taxed to the limit and finally exploded.
His eyes were like sharp swords, "Mr. Yates, if you still want to keep your hand, don't touch her."
Me, "..."
Ian sneered, "Elias, who are you to threaten me?"
Had the two finally shed all pretenses of cordiality and stopped pretending?
It was a good thing for me because I got tired of watching them pretend.
"I'm the president of Silva Consortium." Elias got up and sat on the edge of the bed with one hand still bandaged, but he had an aura of confidence.
"And Jacqueline is my wife."
Sometimes, I hated myself for being softhearted and wavering. I did hate Elias, but I couldn't help but waver when I heard him say those words.
"She won't be soon."
Ian decided for me, "You're about to get divorced, aren't you?"
Elias glanced at me gently.
I knew what he meant by that look. He was saying, "You actually told him all about it?"
"Ian, I don't think it's your turn to interfere in the family affairs between Jacqueline and me, is it?"
"I am the one who has stayed by Jacqueline for the past five years. What about you? Where have you been?" Ian said baldly, "If I'm an outsider, what about you? Who are you to claim to be Jacqueline's husband?"
"Enough." I couldn't stand the constant quarrel of two frogs in my ear anymore.
"Ian," I turned to him first, "I've granted you leave so that you can oversee at the decorating or go on a vacation. The best case is that you find yourself a hostess for your new home."
Ian had seemed certain to win, but when he heard me say that, he looked discouraged and pale in an instant.
"And Elias..." I said coldly, "I take care of you because I have hurt you, which is based on conscientiousness. Don't have any illusions or expect me to have other feelings about you. When you get better, we'll go through the divorce process."
Another frustrated dog appeared.
I took a deep breath, "If you guys still want to fight, go ahead. I'm going back to take care of Nicholas." I turned around and left.
After that, Ian no longer showed up actually.
I had taken care of Elias for half a month before I gave the task to Neil.
It was because there was a problem with a batch of materials that the Canadian branch was responsible for and I had to go to solve it.
That night, I flew to Canada.
When I got there, I didn't even go to the hotel but went directly to the branch office, the president of Canadian branch looked apologetic when he saw me, "Boss, I'm sorry..."
"Don't apologize now. Tell me exactly what happened."
When they finished, I was suspicious.
This batch of materials was worth $500 million. It was impossible for the branch's president to be careless when facing with an order of $300 million. How could the materials shipped out be defective goods?
Unless there was a mole.
I called the v president to the office alone.
"Give me the list of all the people responsible for this batch of materials."
The branch's president wasn't stupid, "Boss, I've investigated them right after it happened and they shouldn't have any problems."
"Shouldn't?" I propped up my forehead and my eye drooped, "When such a serious thing happens, you use the word ‘shouldn't' to guarantee it?"
The branch president was obsequious.
"Investigate the material auditors, inspectors, final auditors, and the shipper, even the driver of the shipment. Spare no details"
"Yes."
