Chapter 31: The Scheme of the Intern
I couldn't help myself, "What kind of clothes are you wearing?"
He had a haughty look on his face, " Normal clothes."
I gave him a nudge on his arm, "Do you think we look like runaway lovers this way?"
He looked askance at me, "What do you think?"
It was time for dinner and we went to a private dining restaurant, which Elias had suggested.
When we were about to go back after dinner, I caught a glimpse of a familiar figure standing by a Maybach with a woman, who was hot and pretty, wrapping her arms around the man's waist and acting coquettishly.
The man stroked her head lovingly.
A few seconds later, the man lowered his head and kissed her in public.
I took out my phone and snapped the scene quietly.
I was not nosy as such things happened very often in France.
But what was unusual was that the man was Silvan.
Elias saw it all, too.
"Doesn't he... have a wife and kids?"
I laughed coldly, "The lover is more charming than the wife, I guess. Besides, Silvan is never a good man. Back then, he nearly…"
"What?"
I didn't want to hide it from Elias anymore.
The two got into the sports car after kissing for a while and the car soon roared away.
"Elias, you shared your secret place with me today and I don't want to keep it from you. Five years ago, Silvan tried to rape me, but luckily, someone came along and saved me."
Elias's eyes blinked slightly, "Did you find the one who saved you?"
I shook my head, "I was so dazed that I couldn't see his face. I have looked for him after that, but I haven't got a clue. That's one of the regrets I have in my heart."
Elias nodded without commenting.
I was afraid he would get the wrong idea and took his hand, "Don't get me wrong. He has helped me and I only look for him to repay the favor. I will give him whatever he wants."
I never thought that Elias would joke with me, "What if you met the guy and he didn't want anything but you?"
"Then I'd have to fail him because I already have my husband."
I interlocked my fingers with his and smiled sweetly, "And I really, really love him. That's what I would say to him."
Suddenly, Elias pulled me into his arms and held me tight.
He lowered his voice, "Thank you, Jacqueline."
"What do you thank me for?"
"Thank you... for finding me."
We embraced each other intimately for a while. After we got into the car, Elias asked me, "What are you going to do with these pictures?"
I narrowed my eyes slightly, "Of course, I'm planning a good show for Silvan, in order to repay his kindness for promoting me back then."
Elias laughed, "It's said that only women and villains are difficult to get along with."
I looked askance at him, "So, don't offend villains, nor us little women."
"You're not a little woman. You're a successful businesswoman."
We couldn't bear to part with each other when we got back to the hotel.
Honestly, if it wasn't for his concern, I would have made our relationship public. But it wasn't the right time yet.
Elias let go of my hand and touched my head, "When you sleep at night, make sure the door is locked, keep your cell phone by your side, and look for me anytime when you need help, understand?"
There was no danger in this hotel, but his concern still made me very touched and warm in my heart.
I gave him a kiss on the cheek, "Yes, sir."
I went back to my hotel room and went to the bathroom to change my clothes. When I walked out, I was startled by the man sitting on the bed.
The next second, I blurted out, "What are you doing here?!"
Neil's hair was still wet and he was wearing a robe with the neckline wide open.
He flinched at my yelling but still got up boldly and walked over to me, "Boss, I like you."
Me, "?"
Oh my God!
What a presidential suite Yvette had someone choose for me! The security system was so poor. How did he get in here?
"Neil, please be aware of your status. You're just an intern of TR. According to what you're doing now, you won't be able to work in TR in the future. I can even make you lose all your reputation easily."
His eyes blinked as if he was weighing the pros and cons, but soon he became determined again.
He approached me step by step, "Boss, if it can be Elias, why can't it be me?"
I was filled with confusion for a second before I realized, "You... saw us?"
He nodded with resentment yet relief in his eyes, "At first, Quentin and Simon both looked down on Elias because he didn't have a decent degree, yet he got to intern with the three of us. I was actually curious, but I wasn't repulsed by him until I found..."
"I found you two in a relationship." He laughed and his gaze became very dangerous, "Boss, I'm younger, smarter, and gentler than Elias. Instead of choosing him, you should choose me. I'll do whatever you want."
I took a step back and sneered, "Oh, yeah? Elias used himself to impress me and you're going to follow his example?"
"No." He seemed to throw the handle after the blade, "At first, I wanted to do well in my internship and stay at TR with my own strength, but when I saw Elias do such a thing, I started to doubt myself, why do I still have to work hard and why don't I take the shortcut?"
"You'd rather give up your self-respect to get the job?" I asked him back.
"If he can do it, why can't I?"
His eyes were red as he approached me, "Boss, try me and you might find out that I'm actually better than him. I like you too. The first time I saw you, I decided that I should marry a woman like you in the future." He said and hugged me regardless.
I wanted to escape but found that he had surprising strength.
And I could smell the alcohol on him.
I frowned and thought to myself that this guy had actually been drinking.
"Neil, I'm giving you one more chance to let go of me or you'll regret what you did today," I warned him.
"I won't regret it. I want you." He was already overwhelmed with alcohol and jealousy, thinking that if he got my body, he could get everything he wanted in exchange.
I broke away from him hard and threw him a big slap in the face.
He stumbled for a second and quickly came forward again. This time, he pushed me straight down on the bed.
There was a huge difference in our physical strength. I struggled several times but could not break free. When I saw that he was about to undress me, I bent my knees and hit him at his most vulnerable spot.
He groaned with pain and fell on the bed.
I sat up and was about to call Elias from my cell phone when the doorbell rang and I stumbled to open the door.
As soon as the door opened, I threw myself into Elias's arms, clutching his shirt tightly.
