Chapter 58
"Uhmmm.......". it'll be the end of me if I mention the same food or something related. Aurora thought glancing at Ariana, her every senses screaming 'save me'.
Getting the message, Arianna gets up and stretches before saying;
" I told mum, since we had rice last night we might as well have apple pie this morning but she refused my suggestion".
"Apple pie....? Yuck". Aurora reacts before breathing a sigh of relief.
"Exactly what I said to her".
"You both are being disrespectful to a fruit that keeps the doctor away".
"Why don't we have pancakes...?"
"Great!" Mrs Salvatore responds excitedly, as if that was what she was waiting to hear.
"Well since we're no longer having my beloved apple pie, you two pancake lovers can as well cook while I take your sweet cool shower".
"Hurry, pancakes are the best while the honey is still trickling down". Aurora says very sweetly.
"I want cream instead".
"Me as well". Mrs Salvatore chips in.
"I always feel like I stick out oddly with you two".
"It's just that honey tastes weird most of the time, especially in long time chewing situations".
"You don't notice I look so lost". Aurora replies giving Arianna the look that said 'you got to be kidding me b'.
"I'm off". Arianna says and races up the stairs.
"Prepare the ingredients". Mrs Salvatore says as drops on the couch.
"Let's go together". Aurora replies with a pout.
"Fine, lead the way mademoiselle". Mrs Salvatore replies, before standing up to her feet and giving Aurora a push.
"You can never pull off the french accent, what if you had to go to France?"
"I wouldn't last long".
"Obviously you're forever LA".
"We should go travelling during your midterms".
"Where did that come from...? Well gladly, if dad wouldn't come along?" Aurora asks, giving her mom the questioning gaze.
"I'll think about that clause". Mrs Salvatore replied to her surprise.
"That's new, I was totally expecting an he's your father lecture". Aurora replies finally the ingredients were complete.
"You take care of the liquid ingredients, I'll take care of the dry ones".
"Okay boss".
"Let's talk about something else, Ari you told me she apologized this morning".
"When did we become gist partners?"
"Since you were born, you just would never acknowledge it".
"Well I was quite surprised myself I had first thought 'it was about to go down' but I was so emotional when she spoke". Aurora replies with a shrug while breaking the eggs.
"So you forgave her?" Mrs Salvatore asks.
"There's nothing to forgive mom. That was so much of everyone of us fault. We completely shield her and pamper her, let her get away with literally anything, what were we expecting while doing that?" Aurora says and drops the egg she was whisking. It was obvious that she was really beating herself up over the matter.
"So we owe her an apology....". Mrs Salvatore responded, tapping Aurora on the shoulder, probably to cheer her up.
"Why were they suddenly growing up so fast, is it the eighteen syndrome?" Mrs Aurora thought.
"We owe her a change, apologies are just mere words and never actually do anything. A change does something". Aurora replies her and resume mixing the batter for the pancake.
"I guess, but sometimes those few words, well thought, constructed lines express more". Mrs Salvatore says and reaches for the pan.
"Well our languages are different".
"Sometimes we must learn people's own language because that's the only way to communicate with them. Imagine trying to communicate with a deaf man and you don't know the sign language?" Mrs Salvatore asks, already laughing at the scenerio, in her mind.
"Well, if he was educated I would only nesd to write on paper and he could read". Aurora shrugged.
"Hw could be illiterate...." Trust her daughter to always wiggle out.
"I picked the lesson, you can trust me on that".
"We'll see..."
"Light the gas mom". The batter was ready all that was left was for them to begin frying.
"Just make the pancake really big and wide, my patience is running out". Mrs Salvatore laments.
"Heyo... Aunt you and Aurora chose pancakes you should make them properly". Arianna shouts from the stairs.
"Heyo... My mouths ain't picky". Mrs Salvatore replies her in the same manner.
"That was fast and new..". Aurora comments. Arianna loved to take her time in shower, she could spend hours in there not bothering if she had someone waiting.
"If I took too long, you'll be stuck staring at the pancakes waiting for me. With aunt already so impatient, I'm glad I didn't make her wait".
"Ice princess, please do not grow so fast, my heart would break". Aurora pouts.
"You both are always in contrast, it's nice to see similarities now". Mrs Salvatore beamed.
"Yeah and we're also wearing similar outfits. It's nice to see you in something comfortable not those tight, hard to breathe in things". Aurora says, shuffling between talks and frying the pancakes. There was already a nice pile of good looking pancakes on the plate.
"They're not hard to breathe in". Arianna disagreed.
"I got wiser baby, we aren't arguing. Set the table my darling". Aurora smiled sweetly at her.
"You and Aurora can continue cooking, while I go set the table". Mrs Salvatore butted and turned to leave the kitchen.
"Why....?" Arianna asks with a puzzled look.
"The pancakes are too tempting for her, she has been salivating all day".
"Aunty, would you like to have a taste first?"
"Nah.... I would have known the taste and eating it wouldn't be exciting anymore".
"Well reasonable I guess".
"You sound like should that be a thing?"
"There's just like three more rounds and we're done".
"I'm done setting up here, let me get the juice".
"I want apple".
"I want yoghurt". Aurora replies only to get the stare.
"Official odd number, time to eat aunty". Arianna announces carrying out the plate of pancakes looking so beautiful with creams trickling down every sides.
