Chapter 68
"That was another long day". Aurora laments as they walk towards the driveway.
"Full of drama, Ian is quite interesting... I think even you like him". Arianna snickers.
"That doesn't stop me from killing him".
"Who are you trying to kill?" Ian asks coming up from behind them.
"You". Aurora responds calmly.
"That's so bad, ain't I a way too sweet person to kill". Ian smiles.
"Sweet...? Did you say sweet?" Arianna laughs, literally choking on her laughter.
"Well, happily poor boy, It's time for us to bade you goodbye as we are too rich to continue the stroll with you". Aurora smirks and pulling Arianna walks to the other direction.
"You'll get weak too early, you need to exercise more". Ian shouts after them, smiling.
"You came to pick us up". Aurora says pulling her mouth into a straight line.
"Yeah, figured I'd better do something asides sit on my backside all day". Damon responded before hoping back into the car.
"Hey, hey". Paul called.
"Y'all two left him behind?" Damon asked surprised.
"Why do you look surprised? He's class rep assist, he's got a lot of work to do".
"So you just left him and walked away".
"Or we could have left you here standing in the sun".
"What do you want Saint?"
"Wanted to say hi to Damon".
"Aww.... Sweet you boy. How's school going?"
"Final year is full of excitement".
"That's great. Are you going to come see us soon?"
"No, but I'm inviting you to my birthday party".
"That's not something I'd miss even if you beg me to, happy birthday in advance Paul".
"Thank you".
"Alright, Damon please drive us home now, Paul let's discuss your birthday tomorrow". Aurora said and entered into the car.
"Final school year is usually different, it's like a ritual. The weirdest of all things must happen in the last year". Damon started.
"I suspect that Ian is a vampire".
"What...?"
"Didn't you see him solve maths question in class today, I know solving arithmetic is not restricted to vampires, but I swear there's something about his gaze and all, he feels like one of us". Aurora replied, obviously puzzled herself.
"If Ian is one of us...where did he come from?"
"It's not like we're the only existing vampires, tell you what in every country of the world there's at least five vampires living their life". Damon explained to them.
"Wow... I never knew". Arianna replied shocked.
"Well your aunt Fiona travelled...didn't she?"
"Yes"
"Wherever she is staying she's probably staying with vampires there, we hardly stay on our own except there's an human who knows us.
"That's big".
"If at all, Ian is a vampire, he's not from faraway. He's from around here".
"How did he survive alone as a vampire?" Arianna asked, Aurora only shrugged cause she couldn't answer the question either.
"Well his parents are vampires too, so most definitely thru raised him secretly, or maybe not secretly we not knowing him doesn't necessarily mean he was raised a secret".
"Yeah I guess".
"By the ways he said they are poor".
"He's not a vampire". Arianna concluded.
"What does he mean he's poor, could he have been lying to you?"
"NO he wasn't".
*What happened to ancestral riches? Their ancestors didn't work for over four hundred years of their life?"
"Can we possibly slip a blood juice to school tomorrow?" Aurora asks looking lost in thought.
"Aurora, what are you planning?"
"Nothing bad".
"No you cannot, this is all just a theory, if he turns out to not be you have no explanation as to why you're having blood in a tomato juice". Damon responds, looking intently at the girls to be sure they understood him.
"It's fine, I just thought about it briefly".
"Erase the thought like that".
"Erased, now step on it let's get to home fast, I want to sleep".
"We're home". Damon announces as he turns off the cars ignition.
"She's asleep already, do you wanna carry her up?"
"Yeah sure, move out of the way". Damon replies, and carries a sleeping Aurora bridal style upstairs.
"Why does she always look exhausted lately". Damon asked, she looked worn out rare for Aurora who always seemed to have reserved Strength.
"I noticed, but she wouldn't have it when I asked so I figured I'd just drop it so she didn't get angry". Arianna replied, Damon also noticed now it seemed like she wasn't mistaken.
"Let's go down so she at least gets the rest she needed".
" Yeah great... I'll go prepare something for her to eat now".
"I'll be in my room, you can have a serving delivered to me, thank you".
"When would Brandon be back?"
"He hasn't called me, but he should be back anytime soon".
"When vampires use soon it could be ten years".
"Well our rate of time is different, I want to lie down".
"You go ahead". Arianna goes downstairs hopefully she'd get something to busy herself with before Aurora wakes up. Aurora seemed to be battling something inwardly and it was sucking all her strength, what could they do when they didn't even know what she was battling.
"Aunt Betty, what of Selina".
"She went out, I think on a date cause she wouldn't tell me where she was going".
"I doubt, maybe she just didn't feel the need to tell you"
"Well if at all she wants to she's old enough, I'm not so too archaic however I hope she picks someone good".
"No other requirements...? I thought they say parents usually want their daughter to snag a rich man, with high class and all sorts".
"High class...? We're just a poor little family, we're surviving on the grace of madame Elena, all we have is what she gave us. We have no right to be picky".
"Don't say that to Selina at least, she has the right to marry whoever she wants to".
"Life isn't all rosy as he looks Ari, you see the beauties of the sky sitted in a high place as you are seated, but down here what we see is the harsh earth".
"That sounds deep, well you called me by name".
"Well you liked it that much so I decided to".
"Thank you, we'll just have pizza".
"Okay miss".
