Chapter SEVENTY TWO.

She could feel something pressing heavily on her chest only this time she couldn't feel any water around or herself drowning. Soon she felt lips pressed solely against hers for some seconds before… Arianna coughed, letting the water out of her mouth. She then opened her eyes to see his eyes staring down at her. ' What was that for? Huh!. You were trying to kill yourself so bad that you couldn't wait till you leave this house." Damon scolded, his glare cold and angry. ' I was…I was just.." Arianna coughed as she tried to explain but she was too weak to. Damon ran his fingers through his hair then let out a sigh. ' I just have just let you drown to death." He said harshly. He had gotten back from his almost everyday stroll out and craved a swim, only to get here and sighted her hair floating above the water. At first he had been unable to comprehend what it was and had almost thought of draining the pool and clearing the dirts in it when he remembered the hair color resembled hers and dived into the pool to save her. Again. The first time he had saved her was when they were young, when they were…and…. He didn't want to think about it now so he pushed the thought out of his mind. He dragged her out of the water minutes ago and here he was, half relieved that she wasn't dead like her parents. ' Mrs Salvatore asked you to come in for…." Selina was saying then stopped abruptly on seeing them both wet. ' What are you both doing?." She questioned, her curious eyes on Arianna. ' Its nothing Selina. Let's go in." Damon responded and stood up, his cloth dripping. He attempted to step close to her. Selina scoffed and stepped backwards. ' You both are wet. Your shirt top buttons are undone, her nipples are standing and you tell me nothing. Really, Damon? Really?." Selina said, her voice reflecting her hurt she was. It was at this point that Arianna knew that her nipples really did stand, like some mighty warrior soldiers. She quickly put her arm over it before her eyes drifted to Damon's unbuttoned shirt, sighting a piece of his flesh. ' It's not what you think, Selina." Arianna finally found her voice and said, her eyes on landing on Selina. ' Really?." Selina replied, disbelief evident in her voice. ' Yes! Yes! All he did was kiss me in a bid to help me…." Arianna was trying to explain but instead it came out all wrong. ' Kiss you!!." Selina scoffed then turned to Damon. ' You kissed her!." She added and rolled her eyes. She couldn't remember the last time Damon kissed her. That would be if there was a first time. Their relationship had gotten so dusty that she couldn't make out clear memories anymore. ' I didn't kiss her. It was just a mouth to mouth…." He was saying before Selina cut in. ' Enough Damon! Enough!. I understand that you don't love me but this, this is unacceptable." Selina said angrily and stomped off. Damon turned around to send an angry glare to Arianna. ' Why did you tell her that?." He said in annoyance. ' I'm sorry. I was just trying to explain to her." Arianna responded innocently. ' Well good luck with that." He snapped angrily. ' Did we miss anything?." Paul said as he walked over with Aurora. They were both in their swim suits. ' You should ask your friend that." Damon snapped angrily and stomped away. Arianna watched as their eyes rested on her. ' What happened Arianna?." Aurora asked. Arianna stared at both of them then back at the empty space in front of her but couldn't say anything. It was as though the cat had gotten her tongue. Arianna and Paul helped her up on her feet. ' Oh your hair band!." Aurora screamed out and jumped into the water to get it. Soon she was out of the pool to hand it over to Arianna. Yea. If only she had waited for them to come before attempting to…maybe she wouldn't have…Uffff…Selina. ' The first to get to the end of the pool. Hey, Paul are you in?." Aurora said smiling. ' Of course. You know for sure that I will beat you to it." He boasted. ' Here, sit." He said to Arianna and helped her settle on the can bed. Arianna watched as he dashed into the water. She was starting to think of overcoming her fear for water and learning to swim so no one would have to save her the next time she drowned. That would be if she would even have anyone to save her. After all she was alone in this world, without a family. ' Wait for me. That's cheating Paul." Aurora yelled and dashed in after him. She watched as they raced each other to the end of the water then back. Each pulling the other to stop themselves from winning. They giggled like babies and it made Arianna smile, it made her so happy that she at least had them as her family. Her eyes went back to the wet band she held in her palm and she squeezed it hard to let the water out. The pink fluffy band had a lots of memories surrounding it. Her mind drifted back to the one whom had gifted it to her. The one whom she used to like. Only now, he was no longer the man she knew. He was now a demon. ' Damon." She muttered inaudibly, under her shaky breathe.
