Chapter 62
"Master Damon".
"What is it so early in the morning". Damon grunts. He was having such a nice dream. Dream, it's rare for him to dream
"The Council meeting is fixed for 9.am".
"Why the actual fuck, seriously?"
"Caesar has asked that you report to his quarters first".
"Okay, you're excused".
These damn old geezers o. The council knows how to fix meetings at the bad time. Why so freaking early in the morning it's not like they have any work they do asides spending the whole day on their backsides". Damon swears before finally dragging his body of the bed it took him so long before he could finally drift into a peaceful sleep.
"Well, good thing he could finally return home. What the perfect excuse for Aurora this time". Damon thought whistling as he enters into his dressing room.
"Good morning father". Damon greets as he strolls into Caesar's room an hour later.
"Good morning son".
"Aren't you attending the council?" Damon asks puzzled. Here he was in a suit all decked and dressed for the show but Caesar was still in his comfortable house clothes, he did change so he couldn't possibly he going in this.
"I am".
"Like this?"
"What's wrong?"
"Do you see me all dressed up?"
" Yeah I see you, when you get to my age you'll realize all these ain't toon meaningful".
"Epic moment, Julius Caesar agrees to being old".
"Give it a rest. Gerald phoned and wants to confirm aght our side is upholding the deal".
"We always do".
"The ledger?"
"I sent it through delivery, it'll be delivered by the end of the Council meeting. So we can keep them in check".
"Great! Plan b?"
"Witnesses all in place".
"Okay.. let's hope for the sake of their clan they don't betray".
"Also I sent three copies, each Lord gets a copy of the ledger".
"Thought it was just one ".
"Yeah I made two more copies and I made all three copies look exactly the same as the original copy".
"So the original copy is still in our care?"
"Yes.... That way even if they think of rebelling, the possibility of not having the original journal would keep them in check".
"Yeah, I guess, I'm thinking we should head out now ".
"Yeah we definitely should".
The council room was all filled up and the duo was the last to arrive. Lord Augustus was sitted at the front with the other three lords all occupying the space beside him.
Grand lord Salvatore, Grand lord sylvester saint, Grand lady melville ash, Lord pascal, Lord festus, Lord felix, lady Eliana Gehn of the wikhingham and lady penelope of the Buckingham. All high ranking lords of the Darkworld, there were four empty seats, Lord salvatore, Lord Saint, lady Fiona, and finally Caesar who was to stand the council.
Lady Penelope was made the presiding judge as she didn't have any ties with either of the concerned party.
"Lord Caeser Julius and Damon Salvatore please take your seat". Lady Penelope's high pitched voice rang through the room.
"Yes my Lady". They now as courtesy demands and take the two front seat to the left.
"Accused please rise". Penelope instructs and both Damon and Caeser rise to their feet. Both men tall and their presence was strong, the only contrast was their dressing.
"The accusers please rise as well". Lady Penelope once again instructs however Instead of four only one person stood up.
"Lord Augustus I believe you were not the only one who signed the complaint that was brought to this councils desk, why then are you the only one on your feet?"
Looking back to confirm what the lady had said, Augustus indeed finds that the other lords did not rise with him. Damn Caesar. Looking over at the other side, he locks eyes with Damon who smirks and offers him a mock bow.
"I also have no idea my Lady, you might want to ask the Lords yourself". Augustus responds grinding his teeth.
"Lord Donald, I believe I saw your signature on this". Lady Penelope says now directed at Lord Donald.
"Indeed we signed that, however after doing a thorough personal Investigation we found out that we had been lied to and so wrongly accused Lord Caeser".
"You were lied to? May I know why you didn't Investigate before putting your signature on this? This council had to come here making time out of our very busy time we could have spent this time more meaningfully".
"I'm sorry my lady, Lord Augustus was quite assertive in his claims and he promised us that he had eye witnesses who would be brought to the council".
"Have you met with the eye witnesses?"
"No, we requested to meet them, however Lord Augustus refused our request".
"Lord Augustus, make your submission".
"I would like to invite a witness".
"Okay, witness for Lord Augustus please step forward".
A frail looking man stepped forward from the audience and stood before the Council.
"Is this good...?" Caesar whispered.
"Just watch the show unfold, my dear father. I had a good dream let night".
"You had a dream?"
"I know right, that's more interesting news than all this. Please hurry up, I need to be home before Aurora gets home from school".
"That's the girls name, my future disciple".
"You want to take Aurora in as a disciple?"
"It's either her or the boy. The Melville princess isn't interesting".
"Trust you to be swift".
"So witness, you're saying you didn't see either lord Caesar or Damon Salvatore fire a gun and you're not sure either if you heard a gunshot, Lord Augustus is this a new year prank". Lady Penelope fumed.
"My lady I do not understand what is going here, I suspect these people are being threatened by Caesar". Lord Augustus stuttered looking for something to say.
"What do you mean threatened? Lady Penelope, Lord Augustus is currently tainting the image of my clan, are we so little to be threatened?" Lord Donald fumes.
"Are you sure you want to do this to me, Donald?"
"Now I feel threatened. My lady we're dropping all charges".
"This case is dismissed". Lord sylvester announces and walks out of the room.
