Chapter 64
"It's begining to look like school would be loads of fun this year". Aurora mutters dropping her backpack. All that hullabaloo today, it would definitely be nice to watch.
"I know right, just one day and I feel like I read a sebastian park novel". Arianna sighs. Fatigue was so clearly written on their foreheads. School was filled with ups and downs today, from their new homeroom teacher, to the new student rumour, to the stuck up girls breaking up, that was enough drama for an entire year.
"But... Do you really think we might be getting a student, I mean....". Aurora asked sitting up, she was curious as hell about that.
"We might be and that would make me a sorceress". Arianna responds, beaming with pride.
"Make you a sorceress? What did I miss?"
"You forgot? I spoke about the possibility of us getting a new student, you were all about the impossibility of it". Arianna huffed.
"You asked the POSSIBILITY, key word POSSIBILITY. You didn't exactly say someone was going to be joining us". Aurora stated and huffed back at her.
"It's almost the same thing". Arianna shrugs.
"....but not the same thing".
"Where's aunt, haven't seen her since we walked in".
"I wouldn't know, seeing as we both returned from the same school".
"Dhurr, do we look for her?"
"Cause she's a toddler and there's a possibility she's in the hands of a stranger and the could be kidnapped".
"You have a knack for imagining worst case scenerios".
"Worst case scenerio would be that the kidnapper is a serial killer who loves to chop his victim before burning them without a trace left behind. Also coming from someone who loves to worry unnecessarily? nice one".
"Damon needs to return fast, I can't be the one who argues the toss with you like this". Arianna sighed.
"Let's head upstairs, I need the rest".
"You've been needing way too many rest lately".
"Now there's a measurement of rest needed". Aurora sighs, rolling her eyes.
"Let's go". Arianna drags her to feet and gets both of their backpacks.
" Let's go to the kitchen first, I want toast". Aurora says and starts to head in the opposite direction.
"Good afternoon aunt Betty".
"Aurora, what would you like to have for lunch?" Aunt Betty asked with a smile, after a month long of fights and all, Aurora had successfully made the woman call her by name.
"Toasts".
"But you had sandwich in the morning, why don't we make something more solid for a change?"
"Nope, I saw this toast while I sat in the class and that's what I wanna eat".
"Fine, I'll have selina bring them upstairs to you".
"She's back?"
"Yeah.. your brother is back as well".
"Brandon?"
"Damon".
"Tch, whichever of them it is I'm uninterested. Let's go Ari".
"Miss Arianna do you have a different order".
"No... We'll both have the same thing".
"Okay miss".
"What do I have to do to make her call me Arianna too?" Arianna asked as they turned to walk away.
"Even Damon didn't succeed, I don't know". Aurora replied with pride.
"Great!" Arianna snorts.
"If it isn't my favorite sibling...?" Damon cooed as the met on the stairs.
"Get out of my way". Aurora says pushing him aside.
"She's pissed... Why?"
"You and Brandon spent days out".
"Not the first time".
"Guess she missed you guys this time... Trust me you want to go after her now".
"Aurora sweets". Damon called as he raced towards her room.
"I want an elder brother too". Arianna sulked, before heading back downstairs they would certainly need the privacy.
"Can you get out... This is a girls only room not somewhere you can come peeping through".
"I'm your brother though".
"That doesn't grant you entry".
"You're really mad. Were you waiting for us?"
"Where did you go? Might be a good question to answer".
"We were only gone two nights".
"That wasn't the question, neither does it for as an answer. Where did you go?"
"Just you know hanging out with the guys".
"... and Brandon?"
"Probably some business, I wouldn't know... We didn't leave together". Damon answers. Stuttering a little. He needed to sound confident to convince Arianna, but her staring at him like that told him she wasn't buying the story.
"Get out!"
"I answered your question!".
"Really..?"
"Yeah, well you could ask Brandon when he returns and confirm from him".
"Why don't we call him now and ask?" Aurora asked, staring intently at him.
"I..don't think...I could... uh..reach him right now". Damon stuttered, this was turning out bad.
"See truth is I know wherever y'all always disappear to is a secret and it's not much of a shocker. I mean even our identity is a secret, why should anything shock me more? What I cannot swallow, is you both coming here to lie to me everytime".
"Sweetheart..."
"Don't try to sugar me, you should know better that wouldn't work, just say what I wanna hear".
"Well, it's demanded of us that we lie to you. We indeed had business and very soon you'll find out what it is and you'll have to be a part of it".
"You're saying I won't have a choice?"
"Don't try to rat me out".
"Okay, where is Brandon or how is he?"
"Even I don't know right now".
"Really..?"
"Well, he had other business and didn't tell what it is all he said was that it would take time".
"Does this happen?"
"There are times I have no idea what he's up to and would usually just think he's in the pa... ". Damon started to say, before sighting Arianna walk through the door.
"Who's up to what?" Arianna asks as she walks in with the toast.
"Brandon, Damon has no idea where he is or what he's up to". Aurora replies her while stretching get hands for the toasts.
"And that's bad news? Thought you said they were old enough to cater for themselves". Arianna replied.
"Nobody's disputing that, we were merely discussing, nobody looks worried here, do we?"
"I'm off". Damon says and walks out the room.
