Chapter EIGHTY.
" It's so good to have you back, Paul." Teacher Samuel says with a smile on his face. " How do you feel now?." He asks.
" Better, I guess." He replies.
" Nice." He responds while nodding. " Congratulations to you all on your...ummm...upcoming prom. It really hurts to watch you guys go but I am glad you get to." He pauses. " I believes this is the right time to know the college of your choice and know that now there is another world waiting patiently out there for you." He completes.
" Hmmm hmmm." The whole class hums in response.
" Elena!." He calls out.
" Yes teacher." She responds and raises her right hand for a brief second then put it down.
" What would you love to become?." He asks.
" An Astronut." She replies almost immediately with a smile on her face as though she had waited all her life to get asked that question.
" Hmmm!. And why may that be?." He goes ahead.
" The space and everything about it is so wide and interesting that I would love to learn more about it. Probably discover things on my own." She responds.
" Thank you Elena." He responds.
" Mike, you?." He asks.
" I want to own a world of fashion." Mike responds as he beams from ear to ear with pride.
" Is that even a thing?." Arianna whispers and they chuckles softly.
" Oh!." Teacher Samuel exclaims softly. " That's nice Mike. Thank you." He adds.
" Aurora, your turn." He says, his eyes on her.
She thinks of it for a while then shrugs.
" I don't have anything in mind for now. Maybe a miracle will happen one day." She replies truthfully. Never has it really occurred to her to want a particular thing or course. Besides that reminds her that she has to check the responses of the colleges she had put into.
" Oh!." He exclaims. " Thank you Aurora." He adds politely.
" Ian, do you have one?." He asks curiously.
" Of course, teacher. I have had a dream ever since I was a little child." Ian responds in a cool way.
" Let me at it." Teacher Samuel responds, feeling interested.
Ian clears his throat for a while.
" I would love to study Anatomy. I would love to know how the human body works from the gross form to the molecular level including its development." Ian explains.
" Isn't that supposed to be irritating?." Lela chirps in from behind.
" It actually isn't. Our work is a rush important part of the medical field because you need to know your enemy if you want to defeat it." Ian defends.
" Are you like a surgeon?." Chris asks, sounding interested as well.
" I am....not. According to research, we are legally not allowed to perform surgeries." He responds.
" Oh! But it's a medical course right?." Arianna chirps in.
" Yes. Of course it is and a very interesting one at that." Ian adds.
" Impressive Ian. Very impressive." He responds with a smile curved on his lips.
Ian bows slightly with a smile on his lips and turns around to glance at the others. Aurora sends him a smile.
" I hope he doesn't call me out." Arianna whispers softly while avoiding being in view by shading herself with Ian's back.
" If he does then you can just be honest about not knowing what to be for now." Aurora advises.
" I know Aurora but I just don't want to talk." Arianna whispers in return. " Have you applied for any college?." She asks curiously.
" Yes. Three. You?." She responds.
" Oh! None yet." Arianna replies, her voice low.
" Why?." Aurora questions and watches her shrug her shoulders for a while.
" I will soon." Was all her response was and Aurora immediately suspected something being off. Something she wishes to discuss with her, alone.
" I have my requests sent to five colleges. Two of which are the best." Ian brags.
" That's nice, Ian." Aurora responds and turn to Paul. " You?." She asks.
" One or two, I guess." He replies.
" Okay." Aurora says and looks back at the teacher.
Teacher Samuel gets up on his feet and pick up a White chalk then head for the board.
" The prom is coming up and we ummm have a lot of ideas for it but more suggestions is allowed and you can send them to my email between the space of today till Friday, that's three days." He informs and scribbles the email on the board then drops the chalk to take another glance at them. " See you all on Prom and ummm ensure to submit all your assignments before then. I wish you'll a better life out there." He adds and walks out of the classroom.
" I can't wait!." Arianna squeals excited.
" What dress are you wearing to prom, Aurora?." Arianna asks.
" I don't know, I will probably get something. You?." She replies.
" I will have my aunt get me something to wear." Arianna responds. " Do you have any date for prom?." She asks.
" No." Aurora responds. " You?." She adds.
" Not yet. Do you have anyone in mind?." She continues.
" No I don't. I haven't really thought about it. Do you?." Aurora responds and watches her shrug her shoulders again.
" Paul, you?." Arianna asks.
" I don't have a date." He replies.
" I don't too but I do have asking someone special out in mind." Ian chirps in and his eyes fall on Aurora, gluing to it.
Paul feels jealousy run through him.
" Besides I have to plan my birthday so I might not really be here for prom." He lies.
" Oh! We almost forgot. What do you do for your birthday?." Arianna asks.
" I mostly spend them out with my family but this time I think we are going to a church." He explains.
" Why?." Aurora chirps in curiously.
" Parents." He responds briefly.
