Chapter SEVENTY SIX.

' Arianna! Arianna!." Aurora calls after her as they get down from the bus but she pretends to not hear and stomp home anyways. Arianna loves staying with her family than with her Aunt. ' Arianna!." She calls out again and runs forward to catch up with her. Arianna pushes the door open and heads up the stairs, straight to her room. ' You guys good?." It's Damon's voice and Aurora turns around to stare at her brother standing front of in the kitchen with a slice of pizza in his hand, munching and devouring it. All Aurora does is shrug in response. She didn't even know what to say. ' How is she taking the news?." Damon goes on to ask. ' Bad." Aurora responds and exhale softly. ' She won't talk to anyone." She explains. ' Ummm. Do you want me to try talking to her?." Damon asks and shove in another slice of pizza. ' No, Damon. It's fine. I got this." Aurora lies. She knew she didn't have control over anything but she also knew Arianna was in no mood to talk to her brother, not after the awkward incident. ' Okay." He replies then munches on another. ' Want some?." He asks and stretches it forward. ' No, thank you."Aurora replies, waving him off and steps up the stairs. ' Arianna." Aurora calls out gently as she stands at the door, her eyes glued to it and her right fingers curled up bouncing gently on it. ' Arianna." She calls out again. ' Please leave." Arianna replies weakly from inside. From her voice, Aurora could make out that she is crying. ' We need to talk, Ari." Aurora responds, her heart wrenching. ' I don't want to. Please just leave." She replies and sniffs in the catarrh threatening to run down her already red nose. She takes an handkerchief in her hand and blows it in. Aurora exhale deeply and sits down in front of the door. ' I'm not leaving you Ari. You are my best friend and it will stay that way. I am going to sit here and wait for you till you are ready to talk to me. I refuse to let you suffer this pain alone." Aurora says. She gets no response from inside, just some soft sobbing and soon everything goes quiet. Aurora places her head against the door and closes her eyes briefly to take in some breathe and just pretend like this all isn't happening. The next thing she feels is her head on the wooden floor. ' Ouch!." Aurora screams out and Arianna quickly gets on her knees to help check if she is alright. ' I told you to step away from the door, that I am about to open it before doing so." Arianna says, feeling guilty. Aurora catches a glimpse of it. ' It's fine. I must have dozed off. I guess I needed that brain shuffle. My head is so full from all the assignments we have to attend to." She replies and chuckles softly. Arianna chuckles in response too. ' I'm sorry Aurora. I shouldn't have ignored you for so long. It's just that…." She is saying then pause, tears she had tried so hard to hold back trooping out in armies. ' It's fine." Aurora says and then pulls her close to console her. Aurora leaves her to let it out, her tears damping her shirt while they sit there, cuddled up. After a while she stops crying and looks up to stare at Aurora's face. ' I must look like some horror movie character with my overly swollen red face." Arianna jokes. ' No. you just look like you got stung by a female bee for flirting with her male bee." She teases. Arianna let out a long dry laugh then pauses. ' Any news from Paul?." She asks worriedly. ' No. he still refuses to pick his calls." Aurora replies. She had even tried calling him few minutes ago. ' I just hope he is fine." Arianna says worriedly. ' He will be." Aurora replies then makes up her mind to share the news with them, the one Ian told her. ' I have something to tell you, but first you need to sit down, on the bed I mean." Aurora informs and watch her eyes wide up with curiosity. Just the same Arianna she knows. ' What's that?." She asks, still sitting on the floor. ' Get up and settle on the bed first." Aurora replies because her butts is starting to ache. ' Okay." Arianna replies and gets up on her feet then help Aurora up by stretching a hand forward. Soon they are both sitting on the bed. ' What's the news?. Wait, let me guess. Ian asked you out." She says sounding excited and it immediately made Aurora wish that he had, not because she love him but because the thought of it made her best friend smile. ' No." Aurora responds slowly then add. ' I have a solution to all our problems." ' Oh!." Arianna exclaims not sounding that intrigued like Aurora had thought she would be. ' And that is?." She asks. ' Come. Your ear." Aurora responds with a smile on her face and leans forward to whisper the same words in her ear. ' Do you think that will work?." Arianna asks. Yearning deep down that the void in her be filled up with this newly found hope. ' Let's hope so." Aurora responds and watches Arianna pull her close in an attempt for a hug.
